Same rod for hollow bodied/rage toads?
If I'm going frogging, I'll rig up a pair of rods. Both are MH flippin sticks. One is rated XFast one is ModFast. Really, either one will throw both baits just fine. The Modfast rod throws the lighter toads out a little better.

Finally got out for some fishing!
Wtg, Top. I wonder how many people here actually knows what that refers to. I'm sure that some of the other active/prior service people do. Keep safe on the next half of your deployment. I'll raise a glass for you tonight.

Using larger worms?
Big worms are a staple of south Florida fishing. Generally on worms around 10" I'll use a 5/0. I've never run into the need a hook bigger than that on that size worm. For larger worms that are 14"+, I'll use an Owner oversize worm hook.

Same reels or Different reels?
The reels I have that get the most use are my PQ's. I've got a Citica and a Curado sitting in the garage as well.

Night fishing w/pics. 10-20-10
Guess you finally got over that cold thats been going around I've become a big fan of that Tilapia colored Magic Shad. I need to order a few packs of the larger sizes next go around. The fish in that second picture looks like it needs to put on a few more pounds. Like Mike said, dealing with all the critters just makes for another normal evening down here. Fishing has been great in the pond that I've got lately. Put a lure in the Hydrilla and hold on. I love this time of the year.

New NFL hitting rules
I played football as a kid...a lot. We were taught to try and level the person we were tackling. Hit him as hard as humanly possibly and drive him into the ground. We were told the best way to hit somebody was to stick a shoulder pad right into the guy and just keep running. Once you make contact, wrap up and hammer him to the ground. We were specifically told not to lead with the helmet. Even in Pop Warner ball there was a penalty for spearing.

Use of a GPS as a back seater?
I'm not a freshwater boater, so I can't comment directly on that. I've taken plenty of people out in the salt though. I've got no problems if people want to fish on some of the big rockpiles, wrecks, or reefs that I deep drop for grouper and such on. If you're that anal about having secret spots, don't share them with people. If you're the non-boater with a handheld GPS, I think you should at least have the courtesy to ask beforehand. What ever happend to the days of just going out to enjoy fishing. I suppose if there is big money on the line, I can sort of understand the desire to keep your spots secret. Honestly though, the spot doesn't catch the fish, the angler does.

Jon Boat needs ribs replaced
1/4" will flex. Use at least 1/2". Buy non PT wood and treat the snot out of it with something like Thompson's.

Full or Split grip?
Doesn't matter to me. I've got rods with split grips, I've got rods with full grips. Not enough of a difference for me to really care. I do prefer a rod without the foregrip though. Unfortunately a couple of my favorite rods have the foregrip.

New NFL hitting rules
I don't mind them suspending people for the blatant and obvious hits. If some dude does it intentionally, then fine. I hope they don't start nailing people for the accidental ones though. All you can do is turn your head one direction. You can control which way the other guys head goes when you both go down for the impact.

Water Temps
Water here is in the low 80's still. It's all relative to where you live. Fish get acclimated to the body of water that they're in. Your fish up in WV are getting ready to slow down for the winter. Our fish down here are getting ready to gorge themselves for the spawn.

Flambeau Boxes?
The boxes directly do not. It's the inserts that do the job. You can get similar inserts for almost any plastic box.

Seaguar Tatsu
No problem I remembered RW's posts about it and just did a search for "tatsu" in this section of the forums. Sometimes you need to set the search parameters longer than just the default. I usually just set it for the three month time frame.

Yesterdays trip....
Beautiful fish. One of these days I really want to make my way up to some Smallmouth waters. I constantly hear of how much fun they are to catch.

Fishing Forearm?
One thing a lot of people don't realize is that you really should stretch your muscles before fishing. Especially when you're doing different techniques than you're used to doing. Fishing can be really rough on the body at times.

OHIO ST. ?????????????
Theres two things I really love in life (other than the kids), fishing and watching Ohio State lose. I giggle like a schoolgirl every time I see an OSU fan crying.

Eric's tip of the day
Well, thankfully I don't have gators in my lake. I didn't think about the moccasins though. I have seen a few of those recently. I'll make sure that I call you next time....then you can come over and laugh your butt off at me.

Nothin to complain about right there, Gar-tracker. Sounds like you had a pretty good day. 20+ pound bag is always a good day in my book.
