  1. Don't spend 1.50 a pop. The place i go to when I take my little brother is 4.75 for a dozen large. As for rigging them, Just use an octopus hook and a bobber. How much leader you use depends on the depth or where the fish are.
  2. Btw, I'm willing to spend up to maybe 600 so if anyone has any recommendations they would be appreciated.
  3. So I've been using a kayak for the past couple years and this year I've been looking to switch it up. I find the kayaks are too uncomfortable for spending a long time on the water and controlling them while fishing is just too much of a hassle. I looked into getting a jon, but with my car and storage situation I don't think that's gunna work out. I'm interested in a one man pontoon but I've never actually used one and need a little info. First off this is the one I'm currently considering - http://www.onemanboats.com/sales-catalog/pontoon-boats/colorado-boat-pumpkin My #1 concern is that I fish until the lakes are frozen and as soon as the ice breaks. Is it possible to stay pretty much dry in a boat like this? Will I have to invest in a wetsuit of some kind? How quick and easily to they inflate? (I would have to inflate it upon arrival, usually in the middle of the woods.) Lastly, how durable are they? Need I worry about scraping the bottom or yanking a hook into one of the pontoons? Thanks for reading, any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. you can't go wrong with a mojo
  5. Thats what they all say
  6. I've been havin' a pretty good week up here in the northern part of the state. The fish haven't been huge but they've been a lot easier to catch than they were a couple weeks ago.
  7. Anything Topwater although i love the bite, they have just always been the least productive thing so i started using them less and less and now not at all.
  8. Thanks. Those crankin' pointers are gunna help.
  9. After reading this thread I tried it out a couple days ago and believe it or not it worked. I only got one fish in about three hours but it was worth it to leave the float out there while I fished normally.
  10. I had a quantum combo way back in the day when i was like 12. They do the trick performance wise, but as far as dependability thats a different story...
  11. My goals for this year: Master the baitcaster - DONE Master the Jig - Haven't begun Ditch the Kayak for a boat - Was so close, but not done. Land A 3+lb smallie - Not Done, My biggest has been 2.5

  13. I have the jig-n-worm and the crankbait and I couldn't be happier. For under a hundo I don't know if you can find anything that sensitive.

  20. haha yeah i think the cheesing episode was actually a response to jenkem getting national press.
  21. Yeah I can't believe they're talking about this like it's a new thing. If you wanna see something really unbelievable google "jenkem". It's a way of getting high that entails fermenting feces in a small container and then huffing the fumes. ^ I actually just gagged typing that.
  22. that's pretty cool. i feel like almost every time i miss a fish i give it a second chance but they never go for it. and i hate to be the grammar police, but you spelled swallowed, sollowed.
