  1. This is a fishing forum! Not a porn forum. ;D
  2. I am now familiar with river fishing, but do fish leave the grass and wood because the tide is high? Maybe the current is to swift and you need to find a more stagnant spot to fish in. I really am just guessing here, I honestly have no idea.
  3. I love hot sauces. We have one around here called "hell on the red" it's my favorite. The one with the pic above is good too, I eat it on sushi. In the sushi bars around here it's called "**** sauce" ;D hehe. Not really a fan of Tabassco,Franks red hot or Tx Pete style. They just don't do it for me. I wish you guys could come to SE Texas during crawfish season. I use a liquid for my crawfish it's called swamp fire. Mmmm! If my nose ain't running and lips burning it's not hot enough.
  4. You lost me when you said Falcons are just ok. If Falcons are not good enough, and you don't want to spend a good amount of money then I don't know what to tell you. I guess look at the Airrus Copperhead or some guys on here really like Powell.
  5. DD22, Bomber fat free shad, or BIG c rig lizard. If that don't work, it's time to go home and come back in the evening.
  6. Great worm to start with. I started with a Creme scoundrel. A basic straight tailed worm that has caught tons and tons of bass.
  7. Remember, if you do throw it. It will reach the bottom. I don't know about where you live, but the lakes I fish have TONS of grass. A pain in the butt to pull a DD22 through. If you can position your rod right you can just tick the top of the grass and it will work. But slime I don't know about. It seems to me that it would cover the lure, and I have never caught anything on a lure that was covered in grass, slime etc.
  8. At least try the steep drops with a c rig lizard, and it would not hurt to throw a jig into and a spinnerbait around the cattails. I have seen it for myself this year on Toledo bend. We pulled up on these 2 gigantor bass ,they saw us and quickley darted into the middle of the cattails for cover.
  9. If this were the case, most of the lakes in the country would have very few fish left in them. People have been using lead weights for many years.
  10. 1. seafood gumbo(crab, oysters, shrimp) 2. homemade chicken and dumplins. 3. chicken and sausage gumbo 4. my wifes glazed ham (coke and brown sugar glaze).
  11. The very first bait I ever threw still works today. The devils horse. I threw it first when I was about 5 years old, now I am 30 and it is still my favorite topwater bait. A ton of others still work.
  12. SK Zero purple haze, Xcalibur xr75 Rayburn red, Stanley Wedge white/chart, H2O cranks model D, DD22 Tennesse shad

  15. I need some help, on our local buy and trade website southeasttexas.com there is a guy selling loomis rods. for $125 each or all 4 for $450. They are glx 6'8 fast, 7' glx heavy,7'1 glx x fast, and mossy back 7'3 fast. He says they are like new. That's all the info that is listed. No pics though. :-?I am not familiar with Loomis so is this a good price?
  16. You need to learn a baitcaster. Period.
  17. Is it the BPS 12" squirmin super worm? If so they are awesome. I Tx rig them with a 5/0 or 6/0 gamakatsu hook. You don't need a big giant weight, but it would not hurt anything to use a big one. I use the same weight I use for 8" lizards. I don't recall the size, I go by sight on weights for Tx rigging.
  18. The best, KVD My favorites, Ike and Jeff Kreit
  19. Ok, so I know that deep water holds cooler temps in the dog days of summer. But in the winter when it's cold outside, say Dec and Jan. When the shallows are cold does the deeper water hold warmer water? Or do fish just find structure in the shallow water that hold heat? We don't have a lot of rocks (that I know of) in the 2 lakes I fish, But we do have a ton of stumps, stickups, and hydrilla. All of these retain heat I believe. Sorry for all of the confusion , I just want to know what to target when it gets cold. shallow cover and structure or deeper water. I realize it will be a while before this happens, but I am trying to plan a winter fishing trip for a few days.
  20. Can you just repaint ones that you already own? Like colors that do not produce as well as others, sand em down and repaint.
  21. lookin good
  22. Why would they put them on a lake like this? For the challenge? 8 pounds for a 5 fish bag? That's horrible. I can catch that in my local heavy pressure pond down the road.
  23. A pro is going to throw whatever he thinks it takes to win money. A sponsor is just a company that pays them to wear the logo. Megabass does not care if he throws LC's or Beetle spins, as long as he's on the podium holding the trophy and is wearing a Megabass jersey.
  24. Last year was 27 pounds for 3 days to win? I think 8 pounds a day and you're in more than great shape at Mead, at least the smallies look like they will help out- Starts Thursday, always great to follow the action at the Open. 8 pounds for a 5 fish bag? That's it? Maybe I misunderstood what you are saying.
