I have a ton of them, I mainly use then for saltwater fishing now. They are an awesome rod for the money.

I have never owned a Rapala DT anything and am not familiar with them in any way. Our local Target has them for $3.00. Should I jump all over these. Is that a good price?

One more thing. I was in a cove yesterday around Gilly's point. The depth's were reaching 18'. No fish though. Is it because it is not quick access to a channel? I was confused. I tried the 15' breakline and could not produce a strike.

Looking at my hook n line, I see Gilley's Point. just to the right of it is Six Mile Bay. It looks to me like a branch off of Six Mile Creek runs pretty close to Gilley's Point.And in the boat lane. Some of the creek runs into the red shaded area (fishing Area). Is it spots like this that I am Really supposed to concentrate on this time of year? Also what info can you give on Six Mile field (#23)? P.S. The lake seemed a little low to me yesterday, is it a little low or was the grass just that thick and growing high?

Ok Fri was cool. We caught some good keeper specks the biggest was around 5 lbs the rest we did not weight but they were in the limit range. Chrome and blue rat l traps, jig heads with Big Bite Baits shrimp tails and Bagley's jumping mullet (topwater) were the key baits. Fishing was good until some dolphin/porpous showed up. Then the fish just stopped. No reds or flounder though. That was weird. Sat I got whooped on the golf course as usual. I shot a 89 > . Sunday at Toledo Bend. Grass, grass, and more grass. My usual boat launch was almost grown over. I had to idle for most of the boat lane because it was so thick. None of my normal spots on six mile were on.Huddlestons,bombers,bandits,DD22's none of them worked. I luckily found a new spot ;D just outside the boat lane at Sandy Creek that dropped from 9 to 20 feet with fish stacked. I was running out of time so I only got to pull 4 fish up on a c rigged 10" SK Iguana. The biggest was 4 lbs the rest were between 1 and 2 lbs. All in all it was fun and I have a new spot. Next time I go I will be sure to go there first.

It has been my assumption that golf course gators are meaner than others. I don't know if it's because people mess with them or they are hit with golf balls, but they have more of an attitude and they won't swim off or even go below the surface when approached. Most of my encounters off the golf course with them are just them being curious and they retreat when approached.

I have to say it, The Houston Texans. Keep your eye out for RB Steve Slaton. He is a beast. Now if we could just get a reliable QB.

I have a Suzuki 4 stroke and I love it. Very quiet, runs good,easy maint. and gets my boat on plane pretty quick.

If you can come up with a little more change (not much) a great reel at a good price is a Abu Garcia C3 and C4 4600. Not a lot of knobs and fancy things, built like a tank,simple to use and they will last forever.

X raps for $3.50 each was a bargain for me at Walmart. I would pay full retail for a Revo SX a be completley happy.

Look into Strike King Iguana and Gene Larew Biffle O lizards. I fish the Iguana yesterday on a c rig and those things float up to a vertical position.If you have an Academy around look at the Big Bite Baits Kriet tail 8" lizards.

Fri I went to our local golf shop/driving range. They were having demo days. All of the major companies were there. Letting us hit the newest equipment some not available yet. I am a die hard Cleveland guy. Well, I just got a driver change of heart.Let me just say I was speechless after hitting this driver. Ping. The Ping I 15. It has to be hands down the best driver I have EVER hit. I hit everything they had from every company out there. I hit 12 balls with this driver and my distance seemed to increase by about 10 yds and I shanked 1. 1 shank out of 12 is good for me. I was 1 bouncing past the 305 marker.The only one that came close to this was the Titleist D3. The I 15 (not the G15) is better and $50 cheaper than the Titleist. It takes a lot for me to change from Cleveland, but with what I did and saw it was enough to make me really really want one. Look into them, you won't be disappointed. Notables Titleist D3,Titleist H3 hybrid, Cobra Baffler pro, (not a Callaway fan but) Callaway prototype blades, Titleist AP1, and Nike Victory red cavity backs.

On the fried turkey thing. VERY IMPORTANT. Make sure your turkey is not frozen when you put it in fryer. I have seen what happens when people try to fry a frozen turkey.

Well went yesterday. 4 fish total. Not good. Could not get 1 bite in six mile anywhere we went. None of my spots were working. The only fish we caught were basically in the Sandy creek/willow oak boat lane. I actually found a spot through all of the grass that dropped from 9' to 20' with fish stacked. I will rethink my launch site next time I go. The whole boat lane a Sandy creek grassed over maybe 8" from the top. I could not get on plane until about the 2nd vertical standing bouy. Just got my hook n line map, no more fishing hot spots maps for me. Catt I am now officially ready.
