I am DONE with Cumaras!! Need new suggestions.
4 broke rods in 3 fishing trips. No offense but it sounds like the problem might be between the boat and the rod handle. Are you exceeding the tackle weight limits of the rod or "high sticking"?

Avets
Maybe for big swimbaits or to catch stipers but otherwise a bit heavy and overkill for bass. I'd hate to lug that beast around all day to cast a craw or spinnerbait or flip a jig.

Need rod suggestions
Shimano Cumara for $199. Its a very light rod with lots of backbone and can cast a wide variety of lures.

Anybody tried the grandebass rods?
Dont know, never fished them. The trophy series are $219 and there are dozens of well known and proven rods in that price range. The elite series are $329 but for a few bucks more you could get a G.Loomis GLX.

waterloo rods
The waterloo rods are mid priced $200 and less. There are dozens of well known and proven rods in that price range. Not much detail on all the freshwater rods on their website.

New Team Daiwa Zillion-R Casting Reels
Saw this reel in a new Daiwa catalog last week and dont understand why they didnt decrease the weight. I take my $480 Steez anyday over that reel. BTW, there are 2 new Steez rods being released soon. "Steez SPX Mega Top" 6'11" MLXF - no spine in the top portion of the rod. Casting and Spinning The rods have the typical Steez bling touches.

Loomis MBR842C or PR844C
My vote is for the MBR842C rod (and of course with a Steez reel). The 842 is hard to beat for small and lipless cranks. It will cast a mile, nice flex when reeling the lure and awesome backbone to handle the fish. Now I gotta find a way to get that core off RW's 842 and replace it with a steez. I should have made you fish with my combo at pickwick.

Best rod for walking the dog.
The 7'2" MH FleXlite, Really? I use the 7' M FleXlite with a 7.1 reel but never considered trying the 7'2" MH.

What's the going rate for a used Stella FA 2500
the FA is an older series so that will lower the value plus since its used and not in mint condition i wouldnt pay more than 1/2 the value of a new one. a new FD 2500 is $650 so that FA 2500 in 8/10 condition shouldnt be more than $325. i would check ebay for a new one, theres a new FD 2500 on ebay now for $520. fyi, a stradic is not in the same class with a stella, its the difference between a chevy and a benz.

More Setups Vs. Better Setups
i would rather have good quality equipment vs more equipment any day. Buy the best you can afford even if it means less setups, you won't be sorry.

Been at pickwick since Sat afternoon, awful rain all day Sat & Sun. Fished all day in the pouring rain with Rhino and still managed to catch a few fish. Fished on Long Mikes and WMD's boats Mon,Tue,Wed. Caught 2 Sat, 5 Mon, 15 Tue, 16 Wed but only fished 1/2 day Wed. The bite was best with ragetail craws. My biggest was probably 2 1/2 lb, but there were a couple of big smallmouth caught. Big O and the bass soldiers caught over 100 on multiple days. All the guys were great and anyone that didn't attend really missed out on a fun time. -Steezy

More Important: Rod or Reel
Rod by far but a good reel does make fishing more enjoyable.
