  1. Spot remover and Hag's Tornado 5"
  2. Bought some jigs from Northstar Custom Lures and there was a mix up on one of them. Called them and they told me to keep the one that I did not order and they would ship me the correct one that I did order too. Great service!! Plus the jigs look great. Can't wait to get them wet.
  3. Carbonlite rods and pro qualifiers when they are on sale. Good place to try out rods, reels, and colors on different lures/plastics. Everything is pretty much overpriced compared to when on line sites have sales.....no sales tax and I usually buy enough for free shipping.
  4. It's the third topic down on the first page of this forum. Here is a link
  5. Senkos are really productive plastics. Check out the Senko FAQ info at the top of the forum.
  6. Buckeye Spot Remover with a 5" Hags Tornado is my favorite shakey head combo.
  7. Wacky senko, TX Rigged Baby Brush Hog
  8. Check out this article in the Dallas Morning News today In 2012, Bassmaster Magazine named Falcon Lake America’s top bass lake. Since then, the lake’s largemouth bass population has declined by 65 percent, according to surveys done by state fisheries crews. The locals think alligator gar are eating all the bass and want the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to temporarily suspend the one-fish daily limit on the big gar. TPWD has launched a study to determine how many Falcon Lake bass are being eaten by alligator gar. Low water could also be a problem. In the last year, Falcon has never been more than 40 percent full. It’s currently about 30 feet low and declining. Falcon is still a 39,000-acre lake, but that’s about half its size when full.
  9. I take them out and only put 3-4 ( but all the same) in a snack bag to take up less room. For instance, I put 4 watermelon red black senkos in one bag. Then I put 4 green pumpkin senkos in one bag. Then I put 4 watermelon magic baby brush hogs in one bag. That way you can put 3-4 snack bags in one plastic sleeve of the Magnum Worm Binder.
  10. I use the Academy Magnum Worm binder and put my plastics in zip lock snack bags. 6 1/2x3 1/4 I put about 4 plastics in each bag and put the in separate holders in the binder. So I have one holder in the binder labeled watermelon senkos. I have a sandwich bag with watermelon candy, one with watermelon red black, and one with watermelon red green. Next holder is pumpkin senkos. Next holder is baby brush hogs, etc. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-magnum-worm-binder/pid-516652?color=Blue&N=272574547
  11. Baby Bass or Watermelon Red/Black 5" GYM Senko
  12. Academy Mettle is a fine reel. They sometime go on sale for $25-35. Father's Day might be a good bet. Otherwise BPS Pro Qualifier on sale is another good one.
  13. Good article about fishing Senkos. Of course he's promoting his rods but some technique tips here too. http://www.insideline.net/index.php/column-rods-n-rigs/1469-rods-n-rigs-nail-em-with-the-senko
  14. 5" senkos on baitcaster, 4" senkos on spinning gear,..baby bass, watermelon black red, green pumpkin purple and copper flake. I use an O Ring tool and rubber O Rings from TW. I find the Senkos will sometimes launch off the hook in midcast without one. Also they help with durability since the pressure is on the rubber not the plastic. Senkos fall different then any other worm I've used including Bass Pro, Yum Dinger ,etc. I use an Owner 1/0 wacky hook without a weed guard. Wacky rigged Senkos deliver almost all the time, especially in ponds.
  15. Check out this article http://www.***.com/bass-fishing-feature-do-you-set-the-hook-wrong/
  16. First choice would be plastics on a T-rig: U-Tail worm, baby brush hog, Zoom Speed Craw. Next a Wacky Rigged Senko. Then a fluke. Next 1/2 OZ Siebert Big O brush jig to punch through veggies. If there is some clear water without veggies, try a Roostertail. Unfortunately, I find fishing a bank tends to be a search project until you know what they like. Once you do then you can carry less stuff. I fish a couple of ponds where the fish will not hit anything that moves but throw in a plastic and they think the banquet table was set for them. Once you catch a few on plastics you'll get very confident, very fast....wacky rig watch the line, always keep constant tension, no slack, and when it moves or you feel 2-3 ticks, side sweep slowly to set the hook. T-Rig or jig 1-2 taps, reel slowly then jerk up.
  17. Either Silver Thread AN 40 or silver thread Excalibur. They are very thin, abrasion resistant, and I have had zero problems with line twist on my spinning reels. TW and Luremet.com carry them. Oh ya, they cast a mile.
  18. I use a Carbonlite 7' Med Fast spinning rod for Weightless TX Rig, Small square bill crankbaits e.g. Manns baby 1 minus, Tubes, Split Shot rig. It's light and has a lot of snap for long casts. They go on sale quite often. Would not use a carbonlite spinning reel.
  19. This Falcon LowRider XG Spin 6'10" Medium
  20. I use the Academy magnum worm binder and put some small Plano boxes with tackle and jigs in the storage pockets. Here is a description: The H2O XPRESS® Magnum Worm Binder features water-resistant 840D polyester construction for durability and 2 exterior and 4 interior storage pockets to provide plenty of storage. An ergonomic neoprene carry handle offers comfort. Features and Benefits - Duraflex buckles attach to H2O XPRESS™ Pro Tackle Bag (sold separately) - Water-resistant 840D polyester construction for durability - 2 exterior and 4 interior storage pockets provide plenty of storage - Ergonomic neoprene carry handle offers comfort - Includes 15 reinforced, self-sealing PE bags http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-magnum-worm-binder/pid-516652
  21. St croix 7' med fast spinning rod or if this is too pricey a Carbonlite same specs is very good too. Daiwa Aird spinning reel..you get a spare spool...so put 20# braid on one and 8 lb seagur Invizix on the other.
  22. O ring...andO ring tool from TW. If the bait gets torn, rip it and reuse the O ring. $4.49 for 50 is really good. They are really easy to use and GY senkos seem to have some oil so using the ORing tool they slip right on. They really do prolong the life of senkos and I have not found they inhibit hook ups. When I first tried them several years ago I fished with and without them and did not see a difference in hook ups. http://www.***.com/Wacky_Rig_O-Rings/descpage-WACKYOR.html
