  1. H2O Mettle on sale $29.95; Academy Ethos 7'H Rod on sale $39.95 two years ago, still working great.
  2. I like Silver Thread coploymer on my spinning reels. It's limp, thin, and never seems to coil. It casts a mile.
  3. Pro Qualifier on sale for $69.99 or so, next choice is Academy H2O Mettle on sale.
  4. Pro Qualifier on sale for $69.99 or so, next choice is Academy H2O Mettle on sale.
  5. Went the local Dicks and a Crucial spinning rod was $42.50. It was the old model black series.
  6. I use Silver Thread AN40 which is very thin, limp, and hasn't coiled at all on my spinning reel. It is very strong. It casts a mile and knots hold really well. If you want an abrasion resistant line, look at Silver Thread Excalibur.
  7. Falcon Low Rider XG 6'10" med fast I love this Rod.
  8. 12 or 14 lb. Silver Thread AN 40 Low Vis Copolymer - $5.99 at TW - strong, thin, and casts a mile. Read the reviews.
  9. Tackle Center 30% off, and some of their regular prices are lower than TW. I needed to replace some hooks and lots of plastics. Reached to get it over $50 for free shipping. Use code thanksgiving30. Their selection isn't as good as TW because they are a local shop. I've bought from them before with no problems.
  10. Wacky rigged Senko or a TRigged Baby Brush Hog
  11. I use the Falcon Cara T7 Split Cast 6'10" Med Hvy. It's made for finesse jigs and it is definitely not too stiff for a 1/4 oz. Jig.
  12. Love this reel. I have a Lews Tournament Speed Spool which is a good reel. But I bought a Tatula 100 and I ended up buying another one. It casts a mile with no backlashes. I use it for jigs and weightless Senkos. Outside of my Citica E this is one reel to have under $150.
  13. I use Hags Tornado for shakey heads. They stand straight up and have great movement.
  14. Wacky senko, T-rigged baby brush hog, 3.5" Keitech swing impact
  15. Sorry about the spinning post since most of my finesse fishing on shaky heads is done on spinning gear. But, if you want a baitcaster, try the LowRider Split Cast 6'7" MH extra fast $139.99 LFC-5-167S paired with a Tatula 100 $149.99 ( but you can find them cheaper). I use this mostly for weightless worms but occasionally I'll throw on a 1/8, 3/16 buckeye spot removers and a hags tornado.
  16. Falcon LowRider XG Spin 6'10" Medium $149.99 LFS-4-1610. Shaky Head Special - Since Shaky Head jigs are increasingly popular because of their effectiveness, Falcon designed this rod with a light tip to handle finesse baits and light line but enough backbone to set the hook. Pair this with a Shimano Symetre 2500 $99.99 and you have a great set up.
  17. Look at copolymer AN40. I use it on one of my spinning set ups and love it. The line casts a mile and is very sensitive.
  18. Falcon Cara T7 Spin 6'9" Medium CS-4-69M. The incredible sensitivity, fast tip and shaded grip make this the "go-to" rod for drop shotting, shakey heads or finesse jigs.
  19. I'd go test both. I tested both a 7' M and MH fast. I don't throw into heavy cover but compared to my other MH rods the Avid MH was really stout. I ended up buying the M for 1/8, 3/16 TRigs and 1/4 jigs. Love the rod. Paired with my old Citica E it casts a mile.
  20. I have a 2500 Shimano Sahara that I love. Go to a bass pro and hold the Sahara and Symetre. I couldn't feel much difference. If you look at the specs on both at TW you'll see there isn't much difference. I've had it for about a year with no problems and zero line twists.
  21. I use 12 lb Invizix on the baitcasters and 6 lb AN40 on the spinning rod.
  22. I use this Charlie Brewer's Slider Heads - Spider Wide Gap Hooks
  23. Seagur Invizix 12# Silver Thread AN40 8# Power Pro 30# with an 8# fluoro leader
