  1. I use this. I put some small Plano boxes with tackle in the exterior storage pockets. Holds a lot of plastics. $19.99 Each PE bag holds about 6 zip lock sandwich bags which are about (4x6) in which I put 6-7 plastics. 2. Try these links....never had a problem http://www.***.com/Wacky_Rig_O-Rings/descpage-WACKYOR.html http://www.***.com/Wacky_Rigging_Tool/descpage-WACKRIG.html
  3. I use a hags tornado on a shaky head. Drag it along and feel a couple of taps or watch the line going sideways. Do a sweep hook set. It can sometimes be confusing if you are on a rocky bottom to distinguish between the rock hitting the weight or a fish tapping. Time will help you tell the difference. Also if there are weeds on the bottom, after time you'll know when you have a catch up. It's time to reel in and clear up your rig for another cast.
  4. I have a ML Carbonlite I got on sale for about $80 on sale a few years ago. Nice rod for finesse fishing and rooster tails.
  5. One of favorite spinning set ups is for shaky head/wacky worm fishing. It's a Falcon LowRider XG Spin 6'10" Medium rod with a Shimano Sahara FE 2500. I use 20 lb power pro with an 8 lb fluoro leader.
  6. Depends on what they are hungry for. I echo the comments in that some creatures like a baby brush hog look quite similar to a worm. With that being said, worms are productive all year for me while larger creatures/crawfish like a chigger craw produce in the Spring and Fall. So probably 60% worms, 40% creatures/craws.
  7. Watermelon red and baby bass
  8. Falcon Cara T7 Cast 7' Medium Falcon Cara T7 Spin 6'9" Medium St Croix Avid Casting Rod 7' Med Hvy X Fast
  9. Owner wacky hook
  10. Falcon LowRider Split Cast 6'7" MH Weightless Worm Extra Fast 12-20lb 1/4-3/4oz $139.99 At TW
  11. Seagur Invizix $7.97 bought 8 & 12 lb
  12. Silver thread AN 40 is a great copolymer. I have it on one of my spinning reels and it casts a mile with no line twists. Very abrasion resistant. I use it for shaky heads near trees and on rocks. Here is their website http://www.silverthread.com/AN40.htm
  13. I can go down to a weightless 5" senko with no problem on a baitcast. Took some time to learn the right brake number and how to thumb the line but now no problem. Also let the lure/plastic hang about a foot off your rod before casting. This should give you some distance. Lighter than a weightless senko I use a spinning reel which I actually grew up on. If you put the line on correctly, it really minimizes line twist.
  14. Besides the normal watermelon black red, and green pumpkin I have had good luck with Baby Bass, pumpkin black and green flake, and watermelon with large red and green,
  15. Use a 4" or 5" senko either wacky rigged, texas rigged weightless, or texas rigged with a 1/8 or 3/16 bullet weight to start. Use either 6-8 lb fluro or 30 lb braid with a 10 lb fluro leader and see what happens. Also, invest in a decent spinning reel. Depending on your budget, a shimano Sedona or Sahara in the 2500 size would be good. Then get a med- fast spinning rod 6' 8" - 7'. Oh ya, Rooster Tails and Mepps Aglia in line spinners ork well in small ponds. I use size 2 Mepps with a gold blade and a black red feathered tail. Keep at it. They will get hungry if they are there.
  16. PQs are beat reels when they go on sale. For $149 get a Tatula.
  17. I received some of the Strike King 3.5" coffee tubes to fish. I see there are tube jigheads to insert but I know nothing about them. Any help on size and brands to buy would be appreciated. I fish in shallow water about 4-5' deep.
  18. These 3 will have a jig for any application and they are excellent quality : Siebert, Northstar, Talon Original Flipping jig...I use them all with pretty good luck. There are hundreds if not thousands of choices but I try to keep it simple. Siebert and Northstar will give you personal attention and great customer service. Talon I buy at TW.
  19. I had the same problem. I was catching exclusively on wacky and weightless senkos and all kinds of TRigs with worms and baby brush hogs. I then learned to fish jigs (plastic trailer) which are close to TRigs for me. Then I started to use some plastic swim baits like flukes, Keitech swing impact, Storm wildeye swim shad, etc. My buddy was using a Storm Chug Bug so I started using one at sunset and learned topwaters are a lot of fun. Another buddy was using a rooster tail so I tried that with some success and now I'm trying spinner baits and crankbaits with really no success. But I'm not giving up. I agree with previous posters to learn from others and go out with only the bait you want to learn.
  20. Cinnamon purple chigger craw
  21. I fish local ponds, some of which are clear and some have short green grass on the bottom. Most do not have Lily pads or floating debris. I want to start throwing some flipping and casting jigs. Question is should I use a craw (like a chigger craw) or creature (like a sweet beaver) as a trailer?
  22. Lazer Trokar when they are on sale at Academy.
