  1. If that pitching and flippin stick was on sale i would be all over that!
  2. You might be a little confused about the gear ratio, because your comment doesn't make sense. Having your crank in the target area is the benefit of having a higher gear ratio. The downside is that it will wear you out and in situations where you need to slow down is when the lower gear ratio reels shine
  3. x2 A few other things to think about are: 1) Old line? 2) Too much friction on your line...make sure its wet before sinching. 3) Not using the right knot...Try a San Diego Jam knot
  4. i like the 6.3:1 Citica. Its a good medium for what i do..whether i need to speed to it up during active feeding time or slow it down in cold water situations like we have now.
  5. Totally agree....They sink like a rock, which make them almost literally impossible to fish in shallow water without getting hung up
  6. This is one of those baits where its nearly impossible to fish wrong. I like to fish it t-rigged in the middle of the bait. Instead of going in then immediately out, feed that hood down to about 4 in down the bait then out. This gives a tantalizing back and forth motion from both ends. DEADLY!
  7. I like to think the sure sets run the best with the stock hooks on. with saying that, i usually switch out all my hooks besides the SS. Until i have a problem i don't find it necessary to switch them out.
  8. I only use Owner stingers...anyone that has used both have one they prefer over the other?
  9. Every Rapala is going to catch fish, but remember there are no "magic" lures. Every lure is going to have a time a place, but here are my favorites: Rapala DT 10, 14, 20 DT Thug DT Flat series (Better hurry they are discontinuing) What the heck Just buy them all! ;D
  10. Dont be discouraged when you get hung up....In fact thats when i get 1/2 my strikes. When you feel your crank catch either 1) let it float up, then continue to reel 2) rip through the weeks, float up, then crank... Another thing to think about is the depth your crank dives to. Remember, don't judge what depth to use based on the depth to the bottom of the lake, you want that crank ticking the top of that weedline. Keep the hooks on
  11. When the water temp starts to drop down into the 60's start moving into the shallow weedlines and throw jerbaits and lipless cranks. Also dont abandon the spinnerbait...they were deadly for me yesterday
  12. The lightest you can get away with..
  13. 7' MH Fenwick HMG...It was more then half the price you are looking at, but IMO just as good of a rod...or better. Take a serious look at this rod.
  14. Normans Little N's have a tight wobble....They have plenty of colors and most of them work great!
  15. This is one of the hardest baits to mess up...in fact i dont think you can...Go with what colors you have the most confidence in.
  16. River2Sea Bully Wa frog
  17. Silver/black, Crawdad, Chartreause purple shiner....that is all you will need
  18. Those are only the 9 series...
  19. Its got a different rolling style wobble to it that will attract fish the DT may not. It also bounces off cover and goes over it compared to the DT series that will go around it. I love to throw flats close to shore and bring them down a bank holding rock and tree structure
  20. Just ordered a few, but they were out of the silver shiner >
  21. I have about 20 x-raps, but havent had the best luck with them. Like everything else it might just be a confidence thing...fish um till you get bit then go from there
  22. You should turn your fish indicator off....Most of the time the icons do not equal fish, in fact they could be anything. With that being said the structure looks like it could hold some big ones. What to use? Well that takes an elimination process
  23. I cannot explain how lucky i was to get this in the boat! I had one barb of the back treble in this muskies mouth and he dove into the weeds at least ten times. There was a point were i was pulling as hard as i could just to get my lure out! But in the end i managed to get this 42 in muskie netted, the 2nd best i have i caught.
