2015 Rods
I'm planning on buying my first Dobyn's DX, just to see what all the fuss is about. I need a good BFS rod, might go factory, might go custom. The rest will probably be customs. Edit, I could see adding a GLX or NRX to the stable too.

Time For Custom Rod?
It's always time for a custom rod. Trust your builder and go with the highest performing, lightest components you can. Put your money into performance and not thread art, it will be well worth the investment.

Unboxing A New Baitcast Reel --> Maintenance?
I agree. I fish my reels hard for at least 4 or 5 trips before I tear them down and degrease/relube. A new reel should be ready to go out of the box.

Daiwa Pitching Reel
Tywithay mentioned it but that new 9.1 Zillion TWS would be the perfect pitching reel. They can be had for way below MSRP too.

Daiwa Pitching Reel
I agree. I have a bunch of different Daiwa reels and my Tatula R pitches as well or better than any of them. That's probably what I would get.

How Do You Secure Your Texas Rigged Baits ?
Everyone has missed fish with t-rigs. It has more to do with your hook set or your hook than anything the worm is doing though.

Spro Little John
Spro makes great baits, the Little John is no exception. I like Rootbeer Chartreuse, Cell Mate and Spooky Shad, although really, most of the colors are good.

What Is Your Favorite Fishing Tv Show/channel?
It comes on WFN. I enjoy watching it. He does get pretty excited sometimes but I don't really mind that. There's a new show that started this week on WFN called Honey Hole All Outdoors. It's come on locally for years here in N. Texas. It follows the same format, 52 shows a year, one every week. It's strictly bass fishing on TX lakes. The host is Bill Wilcox, he used to fish BASS back in the day. It's one of my favorite fishing shows and I'm happy that they made it off of local tv to a national audience.

Need Reviews On Hedgehog And Boca Tools
I have the Boca's and they've worked great. I've had them since they came out and haven't bent any pins or had any trouble with them. I've never used the Hedgehog tool.

How Do You Secure Your Texas Rigged Baits ?
This and this. If you set the hook well, it won't matter if the plastic slides down the hook. That hook point will go through any plastic worm I've ever used, if it doesn't, you need some new hooks.

Power/action Of Rod More Important Than Brand
You can generally find any power and action you want in multiple brands. It's more important to me to find the characteristics you really like, in a rod brand that you can afford and go from there.

Opinions About This Reel
Yep, they are solid reels. My dad has one that's been going strong for 6 or 7 years.

Missing A Micro Guide Insert....think I'll Be Good??
You should be able to get it fixed for under $20, probably closer to $10. It's not worth the risk, get it fixed.
