I would think the trigger would be in the way. Technically I'm sure it would work but a spinning rod has those big guides for a reason. Casting might not be very good.

Sufix Performance Braid for me. I actually like it better than 832.

I'm not familiar with either rod but I generally like the shorter, less powerful rod for frogs. I would use the longer, heavier rod for punching, flipping, C-rigs etc. 50 or 65 lb braid should be fine for both.

That's a great deal on arguably the best sq bills on the market. Nice score!

I prefer insert free and haven't had any issues with them.

I love mine. I have a Tikka T3 in 7mm-08. I've taken white tail and feral hogs out to about 250 yds. I shoot 140 gr Winchester Ballistic Silvertips, I don't reload. It's a pretty light shooting round and accuracy out of my gun is outstanding, better than I can shoot.

Don't worry about buying rods online. Online retailers ship rods every day without issue. I worry more about rods being handled poorly in box stores, either by staff stocking shelves or customers. Besides, if one did happen to get broken during shipping, you would get a replacement.

That made me laugh. I would choose the Tatula rod from your list.

I will echo that in most cases a thorough cleaning and proper bearing flush, (I don't mean just soaking in acetone) will be a big improvement over a greased set of factory bearings. I do use Orange Seals in several reels and they definitely make a difference. I haven't tried any of the other ceramic bearings to compare. I might have to buy a set of Hawgtech's to try out.

10' sounds about right to me. That's about what the big Lucky Craft version runs.

I wonder if depth control plays a part in fluoro being the line of choice? I don't fish the Spybait but I know it's a countdown bait that is supposed to hold at a specific desired depth. I wouldn't think 10 lb braid would effect it that much, but who knows? Just a thought.

I bought a couple but haven't thrown one yet. I plan to use my c-rig rod. 7'6" HF but with a soft tip.

I like Pline CX for copoly. Good strength and less memory than some of the others.

Those are my favorite low priced sq bills. They are good baits with good components. XCalibur also makes very good lipless crankbaits, jerkbaits and topwater poppers. Dick's also sells baits from "Excalibur," don't confuse the two as they aren't the same. The XCalibur is a higher quality bait.

That's the key right there. If someone is polite and respectful I don't mind sharing a honey hole, most of the time.

I prefer both on my personal rods.

I'll 2nd the Duo recommendation. I have a handful of their baits and they are really nice.

That is another scenario that micro guides don't excel in. I just don't have to deal with cottonwood trees. I also don't have to worry about freezing temperatures much and I don't use leaders. Micro guides definitely aren't for all circumstances. The weight reduction is well worth it for me though.

Suspending jerkbaits, lipless cranks and flat sided cranks are staples for me this time of year. I'm going to experiment with blade baits and jigging spoons this winter too.
