  1. I was so young I don't remember. My guess is it was a Zebco 202 or 33 combo.

Awesome bait, I use the regular and the deep version. They are a true hybrid bait, they fish well like a jerkbait and a crankbait. It's one of my favorite cold water baits but they are great year round.
  3. No they aren't. They won't be out for another couple of weeks.
  4. They aren't more popular because outside of the west coast, nobody carries them. A lot of people won't buy a rod if they've never had a chance to handle one.
  5. Looking good fellas. I need to build me a TN grip spinning rod.
  6. I guess it depends on what you find relaxing. It can be very tedious and requires your full attention. It's fun and rewarding but I don't find it particularly relaxing.
  7. Yeah, I think it was the phone, like you said.
  8. A lot of people use Red Label as leader material. It won't be as strong as a fluoro meant specifically for leaders but it will work just fine and be a heck of a lot cheaper.
  9. Good point, I didn't even notice that.
  10. Custom SCV's with a CH CI4 and one with a Zillion. $800
  11. If you want an upgrade over the Tatula, get a Zillion on closeout or wait until the new Zillions come out. The Curado I is a great reel but I don't know that it is an upgrade over the Tatula. IMO
  12. I will never buy anything Luck E Strike. Stick with KVD's, XCalibur XCS or order some of the Academy H20's online. They are definitely the best bang for your buck.
  13. I would have to agree with you, at least until proven otherwise.
  14. It very well could be. I don't think having a sag in the blank would hurt anything, as long as the movement didn't cause the rod to jump off the stand. It's never happened to me but I have a friend who has had it happen a couple of times. Post some pics when you get it finished up.
  15. You should put your support a little closer to the handle. You don't want your blank sagging like that, or I wouldn't.
  16. Good rods, I would buy another.
  17. I think it's because people can't get their heads around the concept. It seems counterintuitive to have the guides in anything but a straight line. In the custom world, I see as many rods built spiral than not.
  18. Dallas should win by double digits. It's the NFL though, the Giants and Cowboys are divisional rivals and always play each other close. Plus, if the Giants lose, they will be in a pretty deep hole, it's as close to a must win as you can have in week 7. I fully expect Dallas to win but I expect NY to put up a good fight. That said, if things go badly for the Giants early on, it could turn into a blow out, like last week against Philly. The NFC East is clearly a 2 team race.
  19. Those things are banned too, in BASS tournaments at least.
  20. It was definitely true on that day!
  21. Straight fluoro for me. I don't like the no stretch properties of braid for most techniques.
  22. I had a kayaking accident last year and lost 4 combos in the lake. The only one that didn't sink to the bottom was the one with a full cork grip and foregrip.
  23. I've seen pictures, it looks like a really nice rod. It's got a nice, long, full cork grip and spiral wrapped Fuji guides with a Fuji ACS seat. Like you said, it is designed by Matt Newman of Irod. http://www.huddbaits.com/store/hudd-rod
