  1. I don't know about anyone else but to me the scariest thing of all is that Slonezp can find these pictures. !!! Yikes!
  2. I like being camping and sleeping in a tent when it rains. Very relaxing.
  3. You trash women's field hockey as a sport but laud English soccer? WTH?
  4. Save this Raider it could be chapter in your book.
  5. Good call on the Hagen, Hogan & Nelson. I can't figure out how I missed those. The good thing about Bubba is that he seems like he truly is a class act. So far he seems to handle himself well. He's not afraid to say that he eats at Waffle House. You've gotta like that kind of guy. He's never going to reach the star power of the big 3, TW or those 70's & early 80's star years though.
  6. Snook, Just curious, who do you consider the big 3? Arnie , Jack. & Player? Rodriguez? Trevino? Miller? I think there might have been a middle step that started before the big 3. Bobby Jones comes to mind. There was another or 2 that I cannot remember. Arnie & crew def took it way above and beyond from there.
  7. So has she read any of the sister-in-law posts? Your voice pitch hasn't raised so I assume that she hasn't read any?
  8. You should do a book Raider maybe title it "A Rednecks guide to modern living." Seriously you probably could make money off of it.
  9. They had a great friendship. I would imagine that the friendship will change him forever and that he will continue To be a great role model throughout his life.
  10. I thought that was one of my all time greatest posts.
  11. When I 1st read the thread title I automatically assumed that this was another thread about Raiders sister-in-law!
  12. I wish that I would have accepted the offer to be a childhood friends pallbearer. I just didn't think that I could have handled it at the time.
  13. On my way to my wedding (1979) my best man & I went to fill up my car with gas. I think it was 1/4 full and was maybe $35 to fill. Heck gas was only about .75 /gal back then and only a12gal tank. Upon arriving at church the pastor had failed to show and we had to call to get him to come over. I'm thinking that someone was trying to give me a hint about getting married?
  14. Movies are very subjective to the eye of the beholder. I let my wife talk me out of the movie that we planned to see and saw Am Hustle instead. I'm not sure why I didn't leave in the first 5 minutes like I originally wanted to. The ending was only casually interesting but it was only a few minutes of an otherwise lousily acted movie. No offense but that movie was awful as awful can be! To me it was a classic case of media hype. Now Amy Adam's constantly plunging neckline was extremely entertaining(!!!) but that is about the only thing in the movie that was entertaining. The costumes and some of the music nastalgia were vaguely interesting but as a whole the movie was terrible. I am from that generation but I'm not sure that those things would be of interest to people not from that generation.
  15. From what I've seen of Jeff Gordon's ex-wife & girlfriends it looks to me like all the rumors over the years is just jealous haters.
  16. I basically use the square foot garden method as a model. By not walking on the soil it is much easier to weed. I will dig in leaves in the fall. I mulch with lawn clippings (don't use chemicals on the lawn) during the summer which also adds to the soil makeup. We mainly grow full size & cherry tomatoes. The kids can never get enough cherry tomatoes. We will grow a few red & orange bell peppers just to save a few dollars. Sometimes we grow cucumbers & green beans. I use a frame made out of emt conduit to grow the tomatoes vertically. After the tornado I'm sure that we will have tiny shards of glass as a new soil lightener for the next couple of years! (eye roll).
  17. My Illini stunk at the beginning of the season and they still stunk at the end.
  18. It is the daily pain caused by being married to Peg.
  19. He gone. Kansas choked again. Ever since Self ditched Illinois I make it a point to root against him. Don't take it too serious, just havin some fun. Chasson Randle of Stanford s from my high school Alma Matter (Rock Island High School). I was Multiple generations back of course. Also the alma-matter of Don Nelson who played on the same h.s. team as my father in-law.
  20. Robert I think that they would have very similar outcomes. The only difference is earthquake survivors would know where their garbage cans are at!
  21. The house directly across the street is in the darker picture.
  22. I'm 3 normal sized houses back up the street from the picture with the yield sign. Everything to the right of that yield sign is total devastation for maybe 3 or 4 miles and is about 1/2 mile wide. Two houses straight ahead through that yield sign is also all gone. 1100 homes severely damaged, a large portion of which are completely gone.
  23. Finally going to get started at my house. Our garage wall will be fixed on Wednesday. The roof will be done shortly after and the chimney fixed as well. That will be good then I can see about volunteering some to help others.
