  1. I'd rather be robbed by a man with a gun in my face, than a weasle behind a keyboard.
  2. How about this one... I try to log on to Bank of America to pay my CC bill. And I mis-type my password or something, and it won't let me on. So I pay it by phone, no biggie I'm thinking. 2 days later I get an email saying someone tried to access my account, and they want to update my info for safety reason. Click on this link to do so. Ok No problem...that was me mis-typing my password. So I go to a BOA site and re-enter all my info, SS number and everything. I find some charges on my card. The big one was British Airway tickets! Anyway, they wipe everythin off and I think they caught the guy, cause he bought plane tix and showed up to take his trip. Dumb ***! Here it was a fake website. EXACTLY like BOA I mean dead on nutz the same...except for the address in the Explorer tool bar. A few weeks later I got another email for the same thing...I forwarded it on to BOA, as per their instuctions. And they supposedly shut the website down. Be wary of that scam guys!
  3. I just got a 6-6 MH XF. Paired with a Revo Premier. Haven't used it yet but feels really good. Nicely balanced. Everything I have read gives them pretty good reviews.
  4. For me I think 55+ degrees. The spinnerbait is your preference...but atleast one willowleaf will help keep it shallow for you. Don't get rapped up in the high speed reel thing either. IMO you give up too much fighting power when it is much needed over the weedbed. As soon as the bait hits the water, start reeling and keep your rod up. You'll get the knack of the bait and outfit combo within a few casts. Keep the blades "rippling" the water or just below that point...sometimes you are better off ticking the weeds. It is a fun and easy way to catch fish if they are on to that pattern...don't "die" on it. After a high pressure system or very sunny day the fish bury in the weeds rather than "float" in them. USE A TRAILER HOOK!
  5. For me 10 to 12 lbs line is fine...on whatever heavier outfit you have. You really have to like C rigging to go out and buy an outfit for it. I just use one of my med 6-6 baitcasting. 24 inch leader. 3/4 oz brass weight with a bead and extra brass clacker. As far as the bait. Any plastic that does not sink rapidlly. I don't like Senko etc for C rigging. The bait falls to the bottom...you want it suspended off the bottom. Lizards, grubs, tubes, or worms seem to work.
  6. Not saying who's right or wrong...it's all preference. But I feel the opposite. Cold water...lipped crankbait. This allows for a slower retrieve and some stop and go suspending actions. I feel the slower presentation and a wider wobble is better. As far a a lipless...over the weeds shallow water. You can buzz these over weedbeds in the summer. Another thing I have foundis in warmer months when the fish are deeper...I count down the lipless and fish it in like 15 feet or more.
  7. It was OK...gave me the chills a little bit. The chick was a little freaky sometimes at night...staring at that guy for hours. The Ring was scarier for me.
  8. Stay away from any BPS reels less than an Extreme. The cheaper BPS stuff does not perfrom well. But the higher end stuff seems very good.
  9. Caught some nice fish last year on a sexy shad version. Not saying they're any better than another lipless
  10. I had my share of stress. An ex wife that waas bi-polar and cheated on me constantly. Tried suicide once, would go nuts evey cpl years. wound up in the mental ward a bunch of times. The divorce to the above mentioned girl was a winner. This gave me heart palpations and quite a scare. Now, things like trips, money, and my second wedding give me acid reflux, heart burn in the middle of the night. Very Painful. Funny thing about stress is not the mental stuff, but the physical effects it can have on ones body. By the way...I got laid off 2 weeks ago, our bills were piling up to begin with, and our son has his biggest soccer tournament of his life 6 hours away. We can't leave for it until 9 pm friday cause our daughter has her school musical program friday night. I was up for 2 hours with pain...tums, tagamet, and gaviscon finally worked. 8-)
  11. This is from Cayuga Lake in NY. We are fishing a tourney it turns out to be around noon or so. Quitting time is 2. Anyhow, up pulls the fish warden and sheriff...they share boats up there. The warden does the safety insp. No probs. Now he wants to check me personally. Lic. is good (this was a non resident seasonal). Now he says how many fish you got? I told him a limit. And your still fishing???!!!! he screamed. I told him a tourney limit is 1 less than the state limit...I posess 5, am allowed by state law 6 . Now he says, hand them over into my boat so I can check them for length. I looked over the boat into the water and said NO WAY! He looked at me really ticked and said what? I told him last year I lost a tourney cause I pulled a fish out to re-dink, and he flopped out of the boat...I lossed by 2 oz. I told him you wanna dink them you crawl in here and dink them ON THE FLOOR! He said, just open the lid so I can, look in. He looked in, he said fish. I told him the smallest one was 14 1/2. He agreed. Now on to the guy in the front of the boat, Tom. Now 10 minutes has passed that we haven't been fishing, and I'm getting irked. I can win this thing with one more good bite. I said to the warden, can't you leave us alone we are good honest tournament fishermen, we can't cheat or we would be DQed. By this time he has Tom's lic out. He bought a 2 day non resident. He never filled out the days it was good for! I'm like you gotta be kinding me (his idea was to not fill it out and maybe sneak it for the next weekend). Turns out that it is not the buyers responsiblity to fill it out, but the sellers. So we get off with nothing. The warden took down all the info from the lic. Now here's the kicker. The next year Tom goes to the same store to buy his lic. Turns out the Fish and Game pulled his permit to sell. The owner says last year I let some guy fill out his own dates on a 2 day lic. and he left them blank. I lost my permit and got find. If I ever see that SOB again I'll kill him. Exit Tom in a hurry! By the way I won that tourney. ;D ;D
  12. I tend to keep the lipless ones for warmer water 55 degrees +. But 9 times out of 10 I throw lipped cranks all season long. One problem I have with lipless cranks is the fact the fish seem to throw them easier...due to the heavy wgt.
  13. Smoke with Hologram flake on a sunny day Blue/black with chartruse flake on a cloudy day or dingy/muddy water
  14. We are heading to Falcon next year. We are looking for tilapia colored/patterened baits. I looked at BPS lastweekend, and only found a rat-l-trap HD in that color. Am I right in thinking that a BPS in PA may not carry a tilapia patterened bait that a BPS in Texas may have?
  15. I have one...don't remember the model. I bought for 5$59 down from $99. But anyway. It is quite a few years old and never gave a drop of trouble. It's solid...no plasticy crap in it. Never broke a bail spring. It's very smooth never clicks or grinds...but if you spin the handle (empty) it will not spin as long as other brands. What ever that means. As far the shops not repairing BPS reels. At one time the parts were not avalible. They were disposable reels so to speak. I had a friend that rebuilt reels and he said they were plasticy in side and parts were not made. Now this is going back to the late 80's early 90's. The bps stuff now seems a little more higher end.
  16. As far as brands the upper end Walmart batteries (gold series or something like that) get good reviews and test reports show a decent battery. Another advantage is, if they go bad while you arte on a trip you can get a warrenty replacement just about anytime. Where do you go that a walmart is not fairly close anymore? As far as the #1 rated batteries...Deka batteries. They a big bucks and rare. But none better. My buddy is a freak about buying the best of whatever. He gets consumer reports researches for hours before buying anything. And this is his findings since he was getting new batteries last year.
  17. OMG did everyone in their early 40's, late 30's get drunk on that their first time? How many of us stole those things from our old man and ran out behind the shed! Good times, good times...barf barf barf! Do they still make that stuff?
  18. Yuengling LAGER
  19. For me it was by far my most productive chase bait color (cranks and spinnerbait). And in one 2 day tourney I know it out caught tradionial white spinnerbaits both days. Like most post it's not the end all color...but it is darn good in certain apps.
  20. 15 minutes or not...she is HOT! Pretty, smoking body, and stylish...although i do have a thing for Latinas.
  21. Dave and hooked...that reel breaking is a odd thing for pflueger. On a whole they make good stuff.
  22. The spring sale has been like this for years. I never plan on getting what's on sale. I just assume it's sold out. Now, of course, some of the little sales the have the items. But, awsome deals on rods, reels, lines (especially) or baits they are almost always sold out. I use BPS Excel mono. They were sold out of common sizes Friday at noon. The first 3 hours of the sale! This year, BPS floro 10 and 12 lb....gone by 930 Saturday. They did have boat loads of Strike King cranks, Red Eye Shads and KVD spinnerbaits...but KVD was speaking there Saturday night too. Maybe something to do with it. BPS Spring Sale....less than average!
  23. 16 Czechaslovians and is a intior decorater....all that from 16 Chechnian rebel and is green beret! Funniest on ever!
  24. Best all around crankbaits are Bandits.
  25. I see KVD is at our BPS Saturday...it will be packed I'm sure. Who the heck is Kevin Van Darn any way?
