  1. I don't know if that reel has a wet or dry drag but if it's a dry drag system and it was greased then it will slip for sure. found this out the hard way on my revo sx.
  2. Take a Q-Tip and add a couple of drops of quality reel oil to it. Remove the AR Inner-sleeve, and run the oiled wetted Q-Tip around in the pins and re-place the inner-sleeve and you should be good to go until the next servicing......... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!! thanks RM.
  3. curado e's, calcuttas, couple of revos, and a BPS. thanks for all the replies. after a little testing, bone dry or an extremely light coat seems to work best. too much oil and I got a lot of handle backplay. I agree with the urge to oil a bone dry bearing.
  4. should the roller bearing be greased, oiled, or dry
  5. sweet avatar dude. blasphemous you living in bama and all. tooth picks have always worked for me
  6. There's 3" of IPT difference between the 6.4:1 Curado 50 and the 7.01:1 Core 50. interesting, i didn't look into it like that. I guess i was comparing to the 200 e. thanks for the info
  7. hope it comes in 7 to 1 soon. i guess the core 7to1 gears would work in it.
  8. it will work in case anyone is wondering as will the spool and most other parts
  9. I have a cruxis 200 that i would like to put on a flipping stick and use the setup to punch mats. I've never tried this method before so i don't want to invest in another curado e until I get the hang of it. question is will the 7:1 gears in the curado 200dhsv go in the cruxis. they look identical externally.
  10. snagged with a rattle trap. bottomed the scale out @ 65 pounds
  11. I have both reels and I feel that they both have their strengths and weaknesses. on the revo I hate the short handle. I upgraded to a skeet handle and it's much better. I also dont like that there is not much access to the spool if you do backlash. I think it may hold less line as well. on a positive note I do think it feels a little more refined on the retrieve. the curado is one of those reels that's so consistent from lure to lure wt. to wt. it's cast control is far less temperamental to me also. I think that the curado will pitch lighter weights better than than the revo. If you do hapen to back lash the curado, which is seldom for me, it's much easier to pick out due to thi wider spool and ease of access to it. I would most definitely choose another curado over the revo. That is not to say the revo is a bad reel. It's a great reel. I use mine for lipless cranks. It can cast a country mile. hope this helps
  12. I know it's nothing special but I'm so impressed with the 7' heavy bucoo with a curado 200 e7 and 20# invisx. I absolutely love my calcutta ct100 te gt and american rodsmith david fritz for cranking. that reel is a d**n winch and smooth as a baby's rump
  13. while i would absolutely love a rod box full of GLX's I do think that a quality rod can be bought for $100. case in point the falcon bucoo. I know that there are a ton of rods out there that are better, but the weight and sensitivity of this rod is incredible. another one would be the shimano compre and crucial.
  14. amen brother i don't hit the water with out a fresh less than 1 week old can of copenhagen
  15. got lucky and won a BPS extreme as a door prize a couple of weeks ago. seems like a pretty nice reel. anybody have any ideas on who manufactures these things. they look very abu-ish to me. maybe pflueger? spooled it up and this freaking thing can cast. very finicky with the cast control though. anyone have any insight on these things
  16. I couldn't agree more
  17. I smile every time I pick up my falcon bucoo and caras. I really smile knowing that they're 100 to 179 bucks
  18. I prefer my calcutta 200 gtb. It has decent drag, loads of torque and having a big solid aluminum frame, i don't feel so bad yanking hogs out of lily pads with 70 lb. braid
  19. i'm using the 15# and it was with 1/2 oz jigs. aven't had the problem since though. invisx has been the best flouro that i've used yet
  20. I've been using invisx as well and have had a lot of problems with break-offs with the palomar knot. just learned the sandiego jam knot and the break-offs are now a thing of the past. not an easy knot to tie but it works.
  21. fished all day with the invisx yesterday and I'm impressed. I now know what Ive been missing out on with flouro. I never would've thought that there would be this much of a noticeable difference in sensitivity between flouro and mono. this stuff is stiffer than mono but still very very manageable. would like to try it in the 20# for jigs
  22. I appreciate the response. I didn't see any of the abrasx.
  23. what brand and # flouro would be the best for pitcvhing soft plastics. local tackle store sold me on the seagaur invisx 15#
