Exploring the Split Grip Advantages further?
Saving weight isn't always the goal... using better but heavier, more dense, exotic burl which is too heavy in a full length grip is my choice.

Do you carry concealed?
There have been carry threads in the past but never even got to pg. 2 To stay on topic, UPS delivered a 22 conversion for my full size 1911 today... my ammo costs just went from $16/50 rounds to $5/100 rounds!! I see thousands of rounds in my immediate future!! ...lol I need to snap a pic and get it posted.

Hitch receiver "ball height" question
Whether you are a perfectly level or slightly downhill guy... just remember to measure the amount of drop your vehicle has when the trailer goes on the ball. Some will drop more than you think.

Need a new tow truck... Advice ? Suggestions ?
Then consider all the gas you can buy with $5500...... even at $4/gallon and 19 mpg that equals 26,125 "free" miles You would be hard pressed to ever recoup that much in the other trucks. But over the life of the truck, you'll probably be close enough in fuel costs (with that consideration) that I'd end up getting whichever one is most comfortable, since you keep vehicles a long time. Sweet! Nothing like a paid for ride. also a FPU facilitator! ;

Need a new tow truck... Advice ? Suggestions ?
If it were me, I'd spend a little time to locate a newer, lesser used version of what you have... and buy it outright. (not finance it) You might even find the color you want. ...lol But that's me, I'm not going to buy anything on credit, except maybe a partial mortgage. ...lol good luck!

California DD's
If that's by chance, in response to my thread, no need for an apology, I just wanted to understand why. Thanks for clearing it up! Awesome bunch of fish, I'd love a run like that! Here's to continued success

Photoshopping pictures
Agreed. Or even take the pic at an upward angle and kill the shore line view. Thanks FC, I was actually hoping you'd respond because I never saw your pics photoshopped or blurred and your's are always great looking photos. You don't seem to worried about your spots... If it's just a matter of protecting a spot, you don't have a bunch of people running you over... and I'd think your spots would be in "high demand." No? I think a good fish pic has to be a good pic... regardless of the size fish in it. Maybe it's really as simple as protecting a spot. fair enough. Like the original post said, I wondered why... (or wondered if there was more to it than that.)

Photoshopping pictures
That's kind of what I'm looking to find out... more of them were Ca but there have been some in about 10 other states in the past year or so. (this isn't new, I just saw 3 or 4 more in the past week and decided to ask the question)

Photoshopping pictures
I'm wondering why people feel the need to photoshop pictures around here. Are there that many people trying to find your spots? Afriad someone sees the magic bait? (only members can see pics) I'm serious, be it baits, places, etc. we get cool pics and have choppy white edges and blank backgrounds or the ol' digital blur. I don't get it. I've seen it from a bunch of states. Anyone willing to explain it it me? Thanks ________________________________________________________ OK, first and foremost this post is only to ask a couple of honest questions. If anyone suggests otherwise, they are trying to cause trouble.

I'm Quitting My Addiction 2
Since you asked, find a FPU class in your area... it will change your life, if you pay attention. There are specific lessons on saving, investing, retirement, etc. and the steps to get there are clearly outlined. You will learn to understand why and what you are putting your money in, not just being told what to do. go to: http://www.daveramsey.com/fpu/home/ just enter your zip code and find the nearest class.

Setting Drag for Yo Zuri Hybrid Line
I'd start with rated strength, not actual... the reason is that your rod is likely only a med or med. light since you have #6. You can easily go up in drag but hook a good one and you might break something before you get it loosened up. It's a learn as you go but for starters, I always suggest less drag to keep things from breaking. Tie a 3 lb weight on your rod and see if you want to sling it around without getting somewhat nervous. ...lol

I'm Quitting My Addiction 2
I'm a FPU facilitator so I get to hear lots of cool and funny stories. You ought to read up on why they are saving... some of the most basic ideas around have been forgotten. You are young enough that you could be well set for life if you took a few basic steps while you are young. Do you carry concealed?
fyi- Many (most?) states require classes and proficiency testing/range qualification to be eligible to even apply for a permit. Beyond that, it's FBI/NICS background checks as well as other stuff. It's not like a guy can go buy a gun today and get a permit tomorrow... at least not around here.

XT vs. Big Game
Dang it, I didn't even mention that XT seems MUCH more abraison resistant and harder. You had me thinking it was some kind of joke. ...lol I think they are very different lines. (and I think XT is well worth the cost)
-
Do you carry concealed?
That's why it's called "concealed carry." You undoubtedly have seen lots of people carrying, you just didn't see their gun. Detectives, criminals, permitted citizens, etc. You'd be surprised at how many people are carrying.

Atta boy!! Dave would be proud. ...lol (Dave Ramsey, that is)

XT vs. Big Game
That one came out of left field. : RW, My own experience is that Big Game feels stretchier. It also seems to take on memory much sooner than XT. I like Big Game a lot for striper fishing in the river and for saltwater fishing. This might be the better analogy... XT will fish and feel more like Hybrid than Big Game will.

Rod Weights?
they don't list it for a few reasons but weight alone means very little. You'll feel the balance 10 times more than the weight.

Performance vs preference
I say preference for the most part because in the majority of like priced rods, the bulk of the differences are not performance altering. For example, warranties, a humped cork grip vs straight cork, a fuji vs. batson reel seat, uplocking vs. downlocking spinning seats, etc. many of those are love/hate things but not actually better or worse. And yes, there are exceptions to every rule.

Drop Shot Rod?
Most DS rods are X-fast. Look at something like the 6'8" Med power X-Fast action from St. Croix and let it double or triple as a topwater rod or a shakey head or finesse worm rod. (anything you like on an X-fast rod) For that matter, any X-Fast will work well so if you are a Loomis fan, that would be fine also.
