What is "High Sticking"
Yes, I think more than one of his sponsors are of the monetary variety, not equipment.

What is "High Sticking"
His never get to high stick more than two or three fish with a rod... between the ceiling fan and his tailgate and dock railings, few rods ever go on more than one trip. ;D The blooper tapes pay for more replacement rods than even he can break. ...lol

Here's one for RW and the rest of the Shimano posse.
Looks good - but I bet it cost more than it looks good!

Lamiglas Rod Blanks
They rate the line and lures the same... I'd say it's probably pretty close. But that is based on nothing but a guess. Most of the brands are rated close enough that you will be in the ballpark. For $36 I'd try it. Thanks for asking this, I missed the Lami. sale... I'll be back there in a few minutes to get a few for myself. ...lol

Rod power / sensitivity question?
Only if you are a tip watcher... that being the case, you will "see" more. Sensitivity itself (feel) is independent of power, but each person will have a preference. I prefer a heavier rod for feel.

The beast
Seeing as it's a sweet beaver copy, how about: t-rig c-rig jig trailer (skirted) Jig body (non-skirted) pitching punching flipping I'm sure there is more but you get the idea. +1

Lets talk reels what would you Buy ?
Money aside... I have a Core and while it's a great little reel.... I honestly can't say it's any better than a 50MG. It looks great but has nothing in practical use that the 50MG doesn't. In fact, I'll submit that it's more limited than the 50MG since I can swap spools and get more line in the 50. (both have shallow spools) The shape of the two are slightly different and I think the 50MG is a little more comfortable in hand. (it's slightly rounder feeling which seems to fit my cupped palm better) Unless you plan to use braid, I wouldn't buy a core for hvy line use. I also wouldn't buy a 200 size curado due to the weight of them. (but that's just a personal preference) If curado and citica are you pick, I would buy curado and citica 100DSV's for any of your listed applications. I'm not sure you can get the 7:1 in the 100DSV's though, working from memory. I have a Premier on order but haven't received it yet so I can't give you a report on it. If it lives up to the hype and specs, it will solve a bunch of needs and become a staple in my collection. Happy shopping!!

Daiwa Exceler baitcaster?
I bought an Exceler for a friend I'm introducing to bass fishing. I set it up and played with it for about an hour... I hate to admit it but I was really impressed with this reel. If all of them are like this one specimen, I have to think it will become a true favorite in the sub $100 reel market.

***BR Elite-January 2008 ALPSTER***
There certainly isn't a better guy here!! Ronnie is the real deal. Great memories from Fork... and he's a pretty good cook, too!! My hat is off to you, Ronnie!

What is the best deal in baitcasters?
Do some price shopping, you can easily beat every "deal" you listed. Your best bet is to decide on your reel and then go find a good deal on it.

Carolina rigged crankbait's...
I've rarely given it much of a hookset since I'm using a heavier rod to cast the c-rig. The fish often hits it fast enough to set themselves against the weight. I will give a little security set, just to make sure. Floating rapala's are great baits for this. Fished moving down deep or as a c-rig on bottom. We had a pretty in depth thread on this last winter, it would be worth your time to try and find it by searching. If I remember correctly, there were several very detailed posts on rigs, baits and how they fished them.

Power Plant Lake
I assume you mean Monticello? The cold side shouldn't be over yet. We fished Fayette last weekend and caught pre and post spawn fish (on opposite sides of the lake). Being much further North, I can't imagine you missed it up there. Good luck

Are they legit?
I guess I haven't noticed other places with Curados and Premiers for $50 off. Anyone care to share the "reputable" places you guys are seeing these deals?

Are they legit?
Have any of you used Bait N' Hook? The reel prices appear "to good to be true." http://www.baitnhook.net/ Any of the NJ people know them? Baitnhook 14 Jamie Drive Sewell ,NJ 08080

Buying me and my dads first bass boat
My "old" Champion still fishes very well, takes big water, runs when I turn the key, etc. The fish don't know anything except they have heard my "old" Mercury their whole lives so it doesn't scare them away.

Where to find old style skirts
Thanks for looking, I appreciate it. I tried all the places I could think of. I will find them in some old run down tackle shop in the middle of nowhere, one of these days.

Rod Repair question
Many tackle shops will have a local guy that does rod repairs, you should call the ones near you. A single guide replacement is usually pretty cheap... a couple bucks for the guide and $10 or so for the repair. Prices vary a little depending on where you are.

Where to find old style skirts
;D I told you they were old... Those are close but the ones I'm looking for are all one length. The black is just as long as the white. I'll post a pic of one if you need it. I have 2 or 3 left but getting nervous. Last time I got a 50 ct. bag but that was 7 or 8 years ago... they were even hard to find back then. Thanks

Asking your wife's permission...
And I'm supposed to be the judgmental one... that's pretty ironic.

Battery issues
I run all the 12V stuff off the starting battery... gps and graph are on all day sometimes the livewell also. My advice would be to buy a good dual purpose for the starting battery and never give it a second thought. (all of my boats have been wired this way and never had trouble) FWIW, I've never had trouble even with cheaper wal-mart batteries on a 175hp with all the accessories. (it's a 13 year old boat)

Where to find old style skirts
Any idea who sell the old style "living rubber" skirts (the ones that are rolled with glue) like on the H & H spinnerbaits? I have found them in certain colors but not black and white... Thanks for any help

Shimano Citica-Why No Left Handed 101D, Smaller Version???
But if we follow that logic why do they even bother with any of the citicas?

Affordable rods, spinning and baitcasters..what are some of the good ones??
Hey Dominick, something we can agree on!!

Would it be worth the effort...
There are a few places where the whites school that you can fish the points. The main lake point coming out of westcliff comes to mind, we catch lots of lg and sm mouth there and we routinely have whites schooling behind us within casting range. It's not the best option but it's an option. Looks like you'll have to start saving your lunch money for a boat! You should see some deals in the next month or so with the boat shows and stuff, people want to get rid of the old boats. Another possibility is to look into a couple of the local clubs (Robinson and West have them) and see what the non-boater opportunities are. I'm sure other clubs exist in Waco but those are 2 I know of.

Shimano Citica-Why No Left Handed 101D, Smaller Version???
Two things come to mind after reading this one. The budget restriction is one I respect since I had it most of my life, but I also never fished Shimano in ANY of those years. With the exception of a few reels in the 1980's I don't think Shimano has ever offered much in the quality and "budget friendly" area. The other thing is that maybe it's just an expensive pain in the butt to make the left hand retrieve reels so they don't want to get into it with lower priced reels. I think there are several GOOD LH reels offered in the lower price points, so you guys have some decent options. Since I'm a left handed guy who has fought these challenges his whole life (in reverse) I can't be overly sympathetic... since (almost) all my power tools and guns came with right handed safeties and set up for righties! And the few left handed guns I have cost way more than the right handed counterparts.
