  2. They were LM RW. I caught them feeding on shad on the drop. Sit the boat on the deep side and casted on top. When the kreature would fall over the side they would nail it.
  3. Put in at 5:00 today and quit at noon . Caught 26 with 22 keepers. The largest was 4.75 pounds with the smallest 2.25 pounds. All was caught on GYBC kreature in Watermellon with Black spots. #194J That GY was working Was fishing in 4 foot deep on a drop into 21 foot. Water temp 78.8 with rainshowers
  4. I am with you RW. I don't generally use anything over a medium power/ moderate action G loomis rods. Generally with #6 or #8 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra soft for spinning gear and Sunline Defier on BC. Their is one exception when stroking a jig I will go with a G Loomis heavy with 15 Sunline Defier
  5. You guys better watch someone will say you are spending to much on equipment. That their $50 dollar rod is as sensitivity? ;D ;D
  6. At the risk of starting a war. The reason I bought a Ardent reel was to see if the workmanship in a reel made in the USA was on par with a Jap made reel. So far it is. I have order a Ardent spinning reel. If it proved out to be a good reel I may go Ardent 100 Percent. The reasons that Zebco left the country is many just like a lot of other company that has gone to Asia. It is to complicated to discusssed here on a fishing forum. As far as the comment Zebco could no longer compete with the cheaper and flashier reels. I don't see hov you could get any cheaper than they were.
  7. In your opinion

Well I use durlock snap on some things. I just weigh a #2 snap it weigh a 1/10 of a grain. That is not eought to change the action of a lure
  10. Gridiron I would say you was fishing to deep on Ky lake. I had a tournament Sat and found them at 6 to 8 foot range. Sunday we found them in the 6 foot range The lake is warming up and when it get in the close to the 80 mark try deeper ledge and drops.
  11. You was doing great till you put that in ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  12. rvrnr64 First let me say I am a shimano man. I purchase a Ardent reel late last fall just to try it out. I had heard so much stuff and I wanted to make up my own mind. Said reel is a low profile. 10 SS bearings 6 Pin brakes 8.7 oz 6.0 to 1 ratio 3 year warranty made in U.S.A. I have fished the reel last fall and up to now it has performed as would be expexted for a reel in that price range. No problem at all. I would say the spinning version would be the same.
  13. I was thinking the same thing.
  14. You might look at the new spinning reel from Ardent. I have several friend who have them and all like them and these guys are die hard tournament guys. As some know I purchase a Ardent BC last fall. I have fished it hard this year and it holding up. Only time will tell.
  15. JDW174 That is the way I fish also. I know this end of the lake well enought to know were thye fish should be and go from their. Also I don't have the boat for running & gunning.
  16. I with you ReelMech NO MORE openion on rods, reels, line or tackle
  17. A canebreak is a patch of cane growing wild. You will generally find it in moist sandy soil. Around here it can cover a acer or more.
  18. If it was the trail I worked for you would not collect a check either. In the diclamer you sign it state you will be subject to a polygraph.
  19. Most consider Loomis the standard for other to compare to.

IMPO yes they do work better than a pop r or even a zel pop. They have a difference sound than any popper that I have tried.
  21. The tournament trail I worked for gave a polygraph at every Tournament. The first, second, and one team at random was tested. Only one that I know failed and he admitted cheating. The way they worked it was their was six polygrapher scattered over the their area and they used one of that six at every tournament.
  22. huskertko You can get your Private Lic here for about $2.500 bucks. A little less if you are a quick learner a little more if you are slow. The best way is to join a flying club. You can do it all it take is a little desire. PS If you think fishing is expensive.??????

Activy army 62-67 with a tour of Korea and Vietnam thrown in for good measure. A tour of duty would do some a lot of good.
