Sure have Got a 997 si on the console and a 797 si on the trolling motor.

I have the same motor and I would say you don't have something right. Mine at idle put out a good size stream. As far as parts I buy from dealer.

First you need to read the manual. It will explane the line width and what each one means. Then go somewere you know what the botton look like and see what it looks like on the unit.

Navionics got through mapping Ky and Barkley lake late this year. I have their platinum version and they are right on. I have owned a Diving salvage company on this lake for 25 years and I have found several thing I did not know was their. I have also the program to hook up my Humminbird 997si / 797 si i to the computer. Yes you can do all your research and waypoint organization on your home computer and then download it to your boat's system. Their is a company call Kentucky Hydro Grafx who has sidescan several section of the lake. You can take his sidescan images find a spot you would like to look at, load the info into the Humminbird and go right to it. It is better at showing detail than any of the new maps. Sidescan will show things that you will not believe. You can look at a spot and see if their are fish on it before you fish it.

Sam If you want to try some great line try some Sunline. Great knot strength, 100 % Fluorocarbon The down side is the cost and availability. The clostest thing I have found to Sunline in the Fluorocarbon line is Seargar Invizx.

You can use the wrap for temmis racket also. same thing I personal don't like the reel handle grips.

The Arden brake system is just like a Shimano Chronarch. They operate the same way and the brake are adjusted the same way. The CS is as good or better tham any Jap reels out their. If you have a problem with them simple call and send it to them. They will fix and send it back postage paid. I have had mine for a year or more and I have fished it hard this year and no problem. It will outcast my Shimano also. As far as being ugly that is in the eyes of the owner.

I use shimano fan but I also have Ardent and I have to say they are one fine reel. Yes they are worth the price.
