  1. It depend on what kind of boat and if it has a console. Their use to be several company that made a kit for this. If you have to installed a console it is going to be expensive.
  2. SPEEDBEAD The temp and water clarity don't bother them. Looks like I am going to miss this one. I will be in Louisiana that week on a tournament.
  3. FlipnFanatic Just use the Y cable that come with each unit. I have the antenna for the 997 on the back deck right above the transductor. The antenna for the front one is on the front deck about 6 inches from the trolling motor. I only use the interlink to manage the waypoints. The reason for this accuracy. If you are using one antenna any were you put it you are going to lose some accuracy. It could be as much as a boat length. Also the unit you have the antenna hook to must be turn on all of the time for the second unit to give a GPS reading.
  4. I have a 997 si on the console and a 797 si on the trolling motor. They are hooked together with the interlink. The 797 on the trolling motor works great at all speeds from slow to wide open. I don't get a distorted image. The only time I will get any distortion is if you turn the trolling motor all the way around. Then it is just for a few minutes.
  5. IF you believe the result of their test??????? I know what works for me.
  6. I use Sunline Shooter and when you take into account not having to replace it as often as some other line it is no more expensive as Gamma. Shooter is the THE BEST fluorocarbon out their.
  7. Christmas tree don't work good as brushpiles. The sap in then will lower the O2 around then and the needle are to fine. The best thing is to use a clean 5 gal plastic bucket with the handle removed and a couple inches of sand or gravel in it. Does not matter if it is upright or not. Another advantage is the bucket are hard to see with a DF. So only you know were you drop them.
  8. I better leave this along before I get into trouble :-[ :-[ :-[
  9. I agree with Defier but if you want fluorocarbon go with sunline shooters
  10. CJ I would change the transducer out. You should be able to use the power cable.
  11. I have a Humminbird 997si on the console and a Humminbird 797si on the TM. The learning curve with these units is steep and long. I have had mine for about a year and I have use them alot. Still learning thing about them. I can find structure in a few minute that would take hours with a downlooking unit. For a structure fishman they are great units. If you are a bank beater I would not pay the price. They would not do you that much good.
  12. I doubt it was Ardent. Ardent is right up their with the best of reels.
  13. CJ I was in sledd creek right were we finished the tournament. Never left the area. The biggest kick was catching the striper on a jerk bait with 8 pound test line.
  14. Sunshine and 28 degree when I left the dock about 11AM. Within 10 minutes after leaving dock found them on a west gravel bank feeding abou 6 foot deep. All they would hit was a bone LC Jerk bait fished slow with a 5 to 10 sec pause. Ended the day with a 22 Lb striped bass, 16 LM smallest 2 pound with the largest 4.15 pounds. Also one 14 pound drum all in all a great day
  15. I voted Shimano but when I buy another it would be Adrent
  16. I like sunline because of the way it handles. No slinky effect, strong smooth and holds a knot great and no water absorption. It has a smaller diameter for it breaking strength. Some of the other brands looks like a pices of rope compared to it. In my openion with all of the fishing pressure on the lakes today you have a better chance of catching fish with smaller line. The only down side is it is hard to find unless you order.

    Signature line says it all
  18. Here in Ky lake a lot of people are using plastic 5 gal bucket as fish attractors. They fill them about a 1/3 of the way with gravel and put either PVC pipe or 2x2 into them. If you look at on on a regulat FF you will not see much if anything. With side imaging I can see everything and generally count the PVC pipe or 2x2 they they have stuck into them. Also I can sweep a area of several hundred feet all around and see what else is in the area without moving the boat. You can also sweep a area and see the fish on the beds.
  19. I build my own. I can make them anyway I want.
  20. Not exactly You need to read the link Team_Dougherty posted it is right on. http://www.windsun.com/Batteries/Battery_FAQ.htm
  21. bryanstiles I would reconnend getting a shop manual for your engine. If you don't have the gasket in the right order chance you have one of the hole covered up and it will act like yours is. They are very hard to tell apart. I had a shop nearly burn up a merc for me by not using the right water pump impeller. Also a water pressure guage is one of the best investment you can put on that motor. Good luck Bud
  22. Tackle warehouse has the Sunline Shooter for $33.99 a spool. You should try a spool of it great line. It will blow this other stuff out of the water.
