  1. I'm glad we have our own coverage team on site to give us some details after ya'll get back. I would love to have some of that info on effective prefishing. I swear, Glenn looks as though he's a kid at Christmas opening presents. What a "Classic" smile. No pun intended. Fluke, thanks for the appetizers, can't wait for the full meal deal.
  2. Those three cameras have schedules to when they will air live feed. The 3 cameras, Expo, the weigh in, and the blast off area. I'm not a member, but have watched some yesterday of the media blitx at the expo.
  3. Reported that a wide range of baits is working. Which just re-iterates what Catt said about the low pressure and the fish are turned on, and add some wind. They said a spoon was being used but no names tied to any baits, I'm betting one of my picks is using that spoon. Kelly Jordan popped into the top 10. Where Tak? my other pick?
  4. At this time, its been reported the officer was a female.
  5. I fished in Rita and those winds, you can hide from wind, but you can't hide from cold. You can get under bridges if they are there to get out of sleet and rain, but cold fingers makes miserable fishing unless your catching often to take your mind off it. And yes, I'd gladly trade spots with any one of them.
  6. You know how stories goes. Our first initial report led us to believe it was assination attempt. Not much news is coming out thus far. I didn't see a baracade for the cop to hit unless it was on the side of the street and its been moved already.
  7. Reported as the worst classic weather day ever. Remember that Classics were in different seasons in the past.
  8. Officer was motorcycle cop. Reports that I have heard said he has passed. Toughts and prayers with officer, family, and fellow LEO's. Not much footage being offered here in Dallas. matt
  9. Thats whats nice about being older, yet not and old fart. I don't need any of that, and my boat actually floats in lake or river, not in a bath tub!!!!!LOL
  10. Clinton is in Dallas this morning and we have multiple reports of a cop down and no news feed coming. Any one got any details yet?
  11. Matt Fly replied to a post in a topic in Hunting Forum
We had muddy down in Texas already. He did some hunting didn't he? Wasn't he hunting for the left button? LOL
  12. Muddy don't forget to get a tube of that Diaper Rash cream. After the senior members put a whooping on the snivling babies, they'll need some cream to soothe the rash we gonna leave'em with. Be sure to not to leave the cream with the Californians, they might think its a lube!!! LOL
  13. The smiles say it all. Glenn has a big smile going. Wondered what has been the "classic moment thus far for you guys. What it meeting a certain pro, fishing with a pro, a picture. ????? Too cool. Matt
  14. I think some one said the large northern strain was 15.8 from Ma. No matter what strain, 15.8 is your record that is already set. As to bring F-1's to the north. Florida strains don't like cold water. But the Holy Grail is and always be the one that is sought after now. George Perry's mark. And state records are impressive also. I know I'd be proud to a state record holder.
  15. As mentioned, there are too many variables to identify to ensure that the fish being submitted did actually come from within the zones as you mentioned. If you make special rules for Bass and WR's, then the next step would be for us hunters in the south to ask for WR zones for our smaller deer in the south, compared to the northern horses ya'll grow. Not ever state is created equally. northern states also have ice shanty's and we don't get that luxury in Texas. We don't have pond Ice hockey either. We don't get to snow ski and such. If we want to participate in those endeavors, we must travel. I'm gonna say leave it as is. Its the holy grail of most freshwater records, the change that now would only water down its true bench mark. matt
  16. I like the other verse of the poem. I like the pinball action of the floating mats when that opportunity arises. I love to cast past mats and run a suspending Tennessee Shad up under them and take a peak see. 4-6ft model works well.
  17. greenhorn, Welcome to the forum. You sure are in some great waters. We have lots of members from California. Splitshotting is a method very popular in Gin clear lakes were down sizing the line and bait sometimes is required due to heavy pressured fish and clear waters. Normally done with spinning tackle. Lots of info will arrive soon. Good luck and again welcome aboard. Hookem Matt
  18. I like that poetic explanation Rolo. "Hyacinth rafts in big open water tend to shuttle back-and-forth like a pinball, changing with the wind. These nomadic rafts" Bravo Sir Rolo, nicely done!
  19. a texas forum didn't have much to say about Doug. Alot of guys think he's good crappie guy. Maybe thats why he advertises his own brushpiles. Not alot of feedback.
  20. Its too early to make educated guess'. Too many games left and injuries may come into play. I still think the east will have Cleveland and Detriot and San Antionio from the West. I like Cleveland to win it all at this time.
  21. Some of the best creativity I have seen in years. Used to love to watch the dunk contest and it just got stale, nothing new. Not this year, saw the hi-lights on ESPN numerous times. Great stuff, glad to see it back to being entertaining.
  22. I stand a chance to be smarter than a fifth grader as long as these students shows up. LOL That was too funny. Loved the opening line, Name four seasons? Matt
  23. Being there is only one natural lake in Texas, I had to ask when I got there about differences. I was told natural lakes are suppose to be easier to fish than resovoirs. Natural lakes don't have the structure and contour that most man made lakes have. Therefore bass wont' be in as many areas as some lakes. Also, a natural lake will be murky if a shallow lake, and clear if deep, thus the weedline for clear lakes will be deeper than shallow lakes. Also, some lakes that are natural may not have a tributary that feeds them, so locating good oxygen in summer is key also. Deeper waters may be void of good oxygen. I'd target weed lines for active fish. hookem
  24. Is there a written rule that says you must read everybodies reply? Some guys make more jokes than adding constructive remarks anyway. Or as the original poster of this thread used "dime" out. What and where did that one originate? Why read or reply to lingo that makes no sense or only to a few.
  25. Over 560,000 dollars up for grabs on Sam Rayburn's BBS in 2008. Strictly amatuers only. Then in June,$360,000.00 up for the taking, they are on Catt's big Pond, Toledo Bend, and then in the fall, sept., its on to Lake Fork for another 400,000.oo. Guntersville will be 3rd annual and he's already paying out 100,000 on its third year. Check out Sealy outdoors for the largest big bass splashes ever held. In 2009, his anniversary on Sam Rayburn will pay out an even million, quarter of a mil to the winner. Not bad for one fish and amatures only. Hookem
