  1. Our guides on Fork take pictures with out photo shopping them and still protect the waters they fish. Seems to me if you know how to photoshop, you'd know on simple it is to use a camera so you wouldn't need to do that. Sorry, I don't care to even look at the photo shopied pictures cause they have been tampered with.
  2. Did you guys see the 30 sacks of 30+ pounds on day 1. 2 30 lb sacks on the co-angler side as well. That Cali record of 122 could go down. Mary Delgado on the Co angler side had 26 lbs.
  3. I figured Fred had them figured out on Amistad last year and will have the same approach with Falcon. I like the Californian to have strong showing as he did last year when in south Texas, just he'll be alittle further south this time. STill pulling for my locals in the DFW area as well as the Fork Pros.
  4. I have thought that blade baits are better than Chatterbaits. I have no confidence in them cause I don't take the time to throw one. My GF on the other hand has lost some very nice fish on them, and caught some as well. She will ask if its a good chatterbait day almost every trip. She has confidence in them. After our last trip, they have their place in my box as well, they flat out produced the spinner in muddy water. Also this year when the STREN series was on Falcon, half the winning sacks weight was caught on a chatterbait with skirt removed and replaced with a Lake Fork Magic Shad, so this bait can have trailers added, fish as it is or can be modified. Its hard to argue with someone who catches over 50 lbs of bass on a bait that helped him win over $100,000.
  5. My goal is a limit also, but on the majority of the lakes we fish in Texas, just getting an early limit of 2lbers won't win nothing, and with a 100 boats on local trail and top percentage going to championship, a limit of dinks won't get you enough points. Points plus pounds, you will not catch up in points with dink mentality, and you won't cash a check unless its pure luck. I understand the logic for the smaller waters. Mentality plays a big role. Its hard to leave an area where your catching 2lbers. But in our neck of the woods, 2lbers rarely get the job done. If in practice, I'm catching 15 inch fish, its time to move and eliminate those fish, they aren't the fish that will get me a check. Its hard to move, but putting yourself in the position to win or cash a check is the goal. Example, most of our trails use 150 points scale plus pounds. Winner scores 150 points and has 25 pounds, he just put up 175 points. Okay, you do the dink fest, 5 fish, 10 lbs and finish 30th out of 50 boats on the first tourney. Basically, you scored 130 points. already 45 points down for AOY, and with the same mentality all year, you will be out pointed, not make the championship, and never cash a check.
  6. Muddy That pick might have cost me a nice chunk of change, and nope, wouldn't bet that money with a 30 point spot against the Celtics. I based my selection on the fact that Texas beat UCLA, Kansas, Tenn and others on their resume coming into the tournament. So a little heart maybe, but they had a very good resume against ranked teams this year. Go Big XII
  7. Pretty stoked for first time on Lake Norfork, Ark. Was a great experience. The majority of the BASS Elite pros sponsored by BassCat were there both days. I am really stoked for Christena, first off, this was her third team tournament ever with me in the past few months. We weighed limits on 3 of 4 days, and had 4 fish on the other. This is only her 2nd year of bassin, and was her first time to cash a check. Ike made an impression on her that will last forever. I'm happy for her.
  8. I love the pursuit of the big bites at night in the summer months. I also think heavy pressured lakes are prime for great night action. I also have found that unless you have a partner who understands the need for stealth, its best done alone.
  9. Temps dictate fish activity levels. Water temp? I have been fishing a newer body of water all winter. I have searched for the warmest water possible to find the active fish. A bass' metabolism is dictated by the water temp. I'd like to know the primary forage that your bass feed on. Knowing all you can about the food source can help you locate bass. Our primary bait in Texas is shad. Shad go deep in the winter, if shad are living in 28 foot of water at 50 degrees, as soon as a warmer rain or sun warms a back of a creek, that current will find its way to the main lakes and shad will migrate to the warmest water in the backs of creeks, and the bass will follow. During winter, those shad might have moved back in those creeks dozens of times, it just depend on warming trends during winter if any in your neck of the woods. The shallowest water on lakes is usually in upper arms or the backs of creeks, that is normally the water that will warm the fastest. You have very good knowledge and understandings of good search baits. Find the warmest water. Learn where the bait migrates to and from and you will find the bass not very far off. Also, tidal movements are key to know, they position the active bass when feeding. Do the bass move up on sandbars, points, or move up on ledges? A bass is a bass, and bass love ambush points.
  10. My actual brackets had three #1 seeds getting in with Texas beating Memphis for the 4th spot. I had UT and KU in the finals with KU winning it all. I'm currently second in points out of a bunch. Still think KU will win it all. I must admitt, what I have seen from NC, Memphis, and KU has been fairly impressive. Davidson peaked at the right time coming into the tourney, I stll think KU has all the ingredients, and so does the others. On paper thus far, its the best set up for the finals I've seen. Now we see if the games are close or blowouts. No one knows until the final whistle how its gonna go. Go Bix XII!!!
  11. What it really shows, is alot of different opinions without any real evidence, just opinions. If it was that easy to dispell Georges record, it would have been done already long ago and the record would rest elsewhere with someone elses name attatched to it. After all these years, 22.04 is still the mark in the books, and all the CSI isn't gonna change it.
  12. I can attest to how popular GrandeBass Baits are in Texas and the DFW area. Welcome aboard and great baits.
  13. We had an Marine who served WWI, WWII, and Korean War a month or so who had similar experience. Was at home, two guys knocked on his door, before opening, he stuck small derringer type pistol in his pocket. The guy opened his door, and was over powered. He was cut numerous time around the face. Once the Marine regained his composure, he commenced to popping some lead. Both fled, one ended up going to the hospital due to being shot. I'd leave the Vets alone.
  14. Started throwing the Watermelon red flake and punkin red this year. With all the rain, our waters are pretty stirred up, so I have been chartruessing the craw with good success. First season using the Paca craw. Love the swimming action around docks. The pinchers give that bait a unique flutter. Worth looking at!
  15. Is that a Wobblehead spoon?
  16. How can you compare what Lance Armstrong has done in cycling to what Tiger has done in golf? I don't think you can.
  17. Tiger is one of the best at what he does. And thats golf. Only way to find the best Athlete is to have them all compete in losts of different events. Testing ones agility, strength, speed, stamina, hand and eye coordination through a bunch of events. Pete Sampras dominated tennis, owns most of all records, and no body touched him either in his sport. Best athlete ever? Don't think so, but was and is currently the best ever to play on the men side. How about Brett Farve's record of consecutive starts. Tigers body don't take the abuse Bretts did. Tiger is good, but I don't think you can call a golfer best Athlete ever!!!
  18. You might have been ready, but it didn't happen their did it Hookem! Rockets have beaten primarily under 500 teams. Granted winning is winning, but wait and see what happens when they play the upper tiered teams. Did you see the Boston Game?
  19. Congrats Al. I was gonna ask the very same question the other day. Seems like you are due a chance to earn a promotion any day. Congrats with the raise, the extra responsibility, and the deserved promotion.
  20. I'll be leaving for Lake Norfork this Friday. Spending Sat and Sunday on the lake, going to Branson Monday and Tuesday, and will be back to the Mountain Home area on Wed. We'll be leaving Mtn Home on Sat. Got any reports on fishing P_Rock Ark? Will you be in the area? Matt
  21. Awesome news!!!! Congrats on the new son.
  22. I wasn't forsure if you wanted the Paul Harvey version told. The Rest of the Story. Wished I knew you were fishing out of a white Triton. We fished some Sunday as well. We did find some empty beds. I noticed that the water had dropped about 18 inches, so I thought the bass backed out deeper. Its always tough for me when the gates are open. That don't happen alot on Fork and Florida bass don't seem to like it on Fork. Good luck at Guntersville.
  23. Mike, Sorry to not have met you. We were wearing white UT shirts and witnessed the weigh-in, and Don the emcee falling off the stage. Mike, you didn't tell every one the rest of the story, about the good Texas hospitality. Mike didn't catch the big one, but did have some great fortune. Mike's lost wallet was lost on a Texas Highway!!!! Money and credit cards and all on his first day down. Lake Fork Marina took care of Mike, great folks, and Mikes wallet was mailed home, Money and all. Some guy saw it an intersection and returned it. There are still some honest people out there! Matt
