I really hope he doesn't go, but if thats whats best for his health, thats what he needs to do. I just wish him the best of luck.
  4. What movie do you think has the best song played at the ending of it? The one that comes to mind for me is Savin' Me by Nickelback at the end of The Condemned. Perfect ending to that movie.
  5. I had never seen these before today, but a local outdoors store had a few on the shelf and they looked great. So I picked one up to tryout. Has anyone had much luck with these before?
  6. It depends on your style of fishing. Try a few of both and decide for yourself which is type best for you personally.
  7. Husqvarna. We have a 454 that we use a good bit and it cuts great for long periods of time. Doesn't use up much fuel either, fill it up and cut for about as long as you want.
  8. I'm as big of a Redskins fan that you will find, but some of the crap that has gone on this year has made so angry that I wanted to throw away my Redskins gear. I just hope that this is over with and that the team can put together a few wins here at the end of the season. I don't know who to blame for this, but at some point AH just needs to look in the mirror and ask himself what he really wants in life. If football isn't what he wants, he should have plenty of money to move on and do something else with his life.
  9. My favorite flipping bait is a Rage Tail Craw in watermellon candy. Honorable mention goes to the Yum forked tail dinger. I don't do much punching when I'm fishing.
  10. A bait that should be in everyone's tacklebox. Very true. When i was a young kid, this was one of the very few lures that my dad, brother, and I used when fishing a small private pond. Another was a black and yellow Roadrunner. One of those two was my first artificial lure.
  11. Report just came on ESPN that Favre has been telling teammates and friends that he isn't going to return to football this season. I won't believe it untill the season start and hes not in pads.
  12. Sounds like a great idea to me.
  13. I'm with you on this one. I don't know why but spiders bring out the little girl side of me that other living things can't. Anytime I walk through a web, I look like someone with turrets.
  14. I do. I started using it because I wasn't getting a great hook sets on fish with jigs. I trimmed down the weed guard and switched to braid and haven't had any problems with getting a good hook set on fish with a jig since. I also can feel the bite much better with braid.
  15. If you can't beat them, use them.
  16. I had a cheaper reel that made a noise kind of like that. Sprayed some WD-40 on it and it stopped. When it started again, I just sprayed it again and it stopped. I would give this a try to see if it helps your reel like it did mine.
  17. What flex ? The rod is going to flesx what it has to and that depends of the power rating and action regardless of how many pieces the rods is. What I was saying is that rods that are made to flex throughout the entire rod would have a more true flex in a one piece than in a two piece rod more then likely. I also agree that a one piece is more likely to be more sensitive than a two piece.
  18. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? I have both and the only difference that I can notice is that the breakdown rods are much easier to transport than a one piece rod. I guess the flex of the rod could be an advantage of the one piece, but that is the only thing that I can think of.
  19. Great jerkbait. I have one in the bluegill pattern and just had to replace the hooks on it. On the last two trips out, I have landed 21 bass and the three biggest crappie of my life on it. It has a bunch of action and great flash. I haven't tried it in stained water yet, but I feel confident enough in the lure to try it next time I'm on a stained water lake. Great lure, and not overly expensive. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0065050123892a&navCount=0&podId=0065050&parentId=cat600382&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&catalogCode=UK&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat600382&cmCat=netcon&cm_ven=netcon&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=&cm_ite=netcon&rid=2146251080&hasJS=true
  20. I'm a big fan of brown cranks. My most productive crankbait has been a Cotton Cordell in brown craw. I use it with success in both clear water and stained water.
  21. I don't mind having bowhunting on though, considering it is tied for my favorite hobby. Although I do miss watching bass fishing in the mornings. But after about an hour of watching, I HAVE to go fishing myself.
  22. Also the size of the treble hook could be the reason you aren't catching but half the fish you hook. If the hook is too small, its mcuh harder to get a solid hookset. But there is no doubt in my mind that the way that you have your drag set is the biggest reason that you are losing so many fish. Good luck.
  23. I agree with the comment on rage tails there. Watermelon red flake= automatic. I would also be more than happy to meet up with someone to fish with sometime. Just let me know.
  24. I also thought that the fish could be spotted bass in the lake, but when I rubbed the tounge of the fish, it was smooth like a largemouth's. This is what makes me confident that they are largemouth and not spots.
