Berkley Havoc Baits
I think the cheap price is the hype or gonna be the hype. They may just be beating other manufacturers to the punch on this one. In the future price WILL BE the deciding factor on which baits people buy. Times are changing.

5" Berkley Power Minnow (Discontinued???)
My link This is actually the bait. Looks like they only have it in the 4inch version. May have to look at the one Lund Explorer posted. Didn't even think about looking at berkleys website. What a spaz. Thanks fellas

5" Berkley Power Minnow (Discontinued???)
Today I had a 5" berkley power minnow rigged on a 3/0, 1/16oz weighted EWG hook and on the fall this thing quivered like nothing I've seen before. It didn't just wiggle, it quivered. I'd drag it through newly emergent reeds and let it fall at the edge. Both the bass and crappie were tearing it up. Not sure where or when I bought these(I'm thinking years ago). I looked online and all I can find is the gulp version. Most Gulp! products I have used seem like they are deformed or kinked due to to consistency of the Gulp! plastic so I'm thinking they wouldn't work. Anyone know where a feller can find the original berkley power minnows or another soft jerkbait that has the same action?

Vicious Fishing Tackle At Wally World.
I seen a display at Walmart that had all sorts of Bass jigs, hooks, weights and a lot of other stuff as well. It was all Vicious brand tackle. Never knew Vicious was into anything other than fishing line. I bought a few of their standup jigs and it seems they are of good quality. What caught my eye was the price. 3 standup jigs for $1.98 and 10 3/0 worm hooks for the same. I'm always a little leary of cheap tackle and figured I would check with the Bassresource experts for opinions before I stock up. Would like to hear some opinions on it and if its quality tackle? Thanks fellers.

Lizards Vs Brush Hogs
Big fan of Brush Hogs. Just seem to have more luck using them then lizards.

Bed Fishing
I was watching some tourney coverage these last couple of weeks and the dominant technique seems to have been fishing for bedded bass. I have never fished for bass on the beds and have a couple questions that I'm sure you fellers can answer or at least give an opinion on. The first one is I seen I believe it was Terry Scroggins that motored up to a bed and stuck a stick in the ground next to the bed so he knew where it was. Is this a common practice and wouldn't it spook the bass off the bed? And if it does spook them off the bed how long before they'll come back? Also if you do find some bedded bass in fairly clear water how far away do you position your boat to fish them without spooking them? Another is how do you go about fishing for bedded bass in murkier water where it may not be possible to locate there beds? And last but not least what are the prefered baits in dingy water and what are the prefered baits in clear water situations? Thanks

Big fish baits and tactics
I have caught all three of my biggest bass on a 7 inch Texas rigged plastic worm in Junebug which is kinda odd because I really don't fish plastic worms that often or in Junebug. Might have to start fishing it more. 1. 6lbs7oz 2. 6lb3oz 3. 5lb12oz

Storm Wild Eye Swim Shad
The trick is to fish them slow, they have an excellent side-to-side wobble at slow speeds. I try to keep contact with the bottom by pausing occasionally. Even with the heavily weighted head they still make their way towards the surface even when reeled fairly slow. Which is a good thing because it forces you to fish them slow. Have also had good luck fishing them down steep shorelines like a jig. You just lift and let it swim down the incline then THUNK! Also agree with JKarbo that this is a very underrated bait. Have had outstanding days fishing this lure. Another plus is on average the fish that hit these lures seem to be bigger.

Best wife ever!!
Looks like you took the bait! Once you get married she will be like, what boat? Ain't that the truth.

Martens and VanDam's exchange on the final day.
The conversation between KVD and Martins wasn't a creation of fancy editing. It also didn't at all seem like they were buddies heckling each other. It was more like the alpha dog spanking the subordinate. A bit awkward and funny all at the same time.

Any one?
I would bet there are countlerss other spawning flats in the Louisiana Delta. That place is huge. Targeting one area like that shouldn't hurt to badly I wouldn't think. Why would anyone want to eat a bass anyway? Walleyes are for eating, bass are for catching.

How many of your change your treble hooks?
Check them on your finger. If they are sticky sharp they're fine if not change them with some Gammas.

Jigs, jigs, jigs, but what size?
I'v caught a ton of fish throwing 1/4 oz jigs. Some days the slower fall is the trigger. The lighter jigs IMO are also better for scooting over big rocks and not falling down(like heavier jigs tend to) in them and getting snagged up continuously.

Zoom Brush Hogs
Watermelon Seed has been a great color for me in slightly stained water. I'd base it on the water color in your area. I'd pick up about ten bags to start out with cause I'm sure you'll be going back to get more.

Why does everyone buy the lures that win The Classic
I think the highlighted part says it all. If this bait won the classic it is obviously proven. If KVD uses it and is winning tourneys with it you know it works. So if your looking for cranks why not buy one or ten? I bought some red eye shads last year after the classic not really because he won with that lure but it did get me to take a closer look at it and read the reveiws when I was looking to add some more lipless cranks to my arsenal. The reveiws were outstanding and the price is right so I bought a couple and they have become my favorite lipless crank. Same for SK series 5 & 6 cranks. You see KVD winning tourneys with these lures and pretty soon all the pros are throwing them. Hell yeah I'm gonna go buy some. I'm glad I have because they too have caught me a ton of fish and are now a favorite. Its about knowing these luers are proven fish catchers. Look at the opposite of the spectrum should we be running out there buying lures that the losers are using?

Martens and VanDam's exchange on the final day.
I believe they will be airing the final day again this weekend. Not sure of the time though.

Antique Rapala
Curious as to how you stumbled across it? If you don't want to mention it I understand. I'm thinking to the right person(collector) that lure could be worth a lot of money. It wasn't until the 60's that american anglers started catching on to the rapala craze.

Zipper Monkey Bug
http://www.***.com/Zipper_Monkey_Bug_8pk/descpage-ZPRMKBG.html I ordered a couple bags of these today and figured with as much luck as I've had with Brush Hogs maybe I'll give them something a little different to look at for a change. Have never actually heard of them before until I seem them today on tacklewarehouses website. Curious if anyone has used them and what they think of them? At $2.49 a bag of 8 you really can't beat the price.

Martens and VanDam's exchange on the final day.
Haha. It was a bit awkward wasn't it. I liked it though. Especially when KVD told him he was gonna go over here and catch a ten pounder. That gave me a good laugh.

Zoom Brush Hogs
Brush hogs are one awsome bait. The first thing that jumped out at me when seeing your equipment was the 12XL mono. If the water your fishing is on the stained side I would definately go to braid.
