  1. Same here. Although I've tried a lot of different retrieves and had a lot of success on just about everything tried.
  2. Welcome aboard!

  5. Darren. replied to Raul's topic in Everything Else
    Merry Christmas to ya, Raul.
  6. I'll let others answer the question, but let me welcome you to the forums!
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. Sounds like the salt is calling you back. And I don't mean El Salto! The striper bug has bitten me but not enough to chase 'em up n' down the coast...yet. Thus far, 15# braid and 8# test leader tied with a the tried-and-true uni-to-uni have held up to all the varieties I've landed in the Chesapeake/York River area down here. One of those knots that "just works", is easiest to tie, so why change?
  9. Dang. Almost looks like a modified FG to me! Easier to tie based on a video I watched on YT. But I'll stick with the Uni-to-Uni for most stuff. Might give this "new" knot a try, tho.
  10. Merry Happy Christmas Holidays!
  11. Not sure I will make it (family party preps notwithstanding), I have wife approval to fish, if time allows, given the lovely temps predicted for Saturday. So we'll see what happens. I'd love to swing up there if poss.
  12. Bills bros always stay together... through thick and .... well, though 17 years of playoff drought. Here's to the end!
  13. I have at least 6 of the 600 yard spools laying around. Good stuff.
  14. and a Merry C back to you!
  15. First. GO BILLS!! With that out of the way, I like to use 6 and 8# Yo Zuri Hybrid or Gamma Edge copoly.
  16. She's a beaut! Congrats!

  18. Welcome aboard, Bryan!
  19. Likewise to everyone!
  20. All I know is ... GO BILLS!!!
  21. I'm with @Bluebasser86 and @roadwarrior, very broad question. My setups are all braid + leader. Spinning: Power Pro (regular) in yellow: 10# test Power Pro Super Slick 8 in yellow 15# test Casting: Power Pro (regular) in yellow: 20# test. Leaders: Yo-Zuri Hybrid from 4-15# test Gamma Edge Fluoro in 6, 8, 10# tests
  22. I love using PP and PP Super Slick 8. I have used other braids, but none are cheap alternatives, IMO. I think PP and PPSS8 are excellent lines for all use. Again, IMO.
  23. Hi Richard, welcome to the forums. For bass fishing, you really do not need to go over a 20 or 25 (aka 2000, 2500) size reel. There's nary a bass alive that'll require more reel than that. I use 1000 size for all my bass fishing, and even use that size for inshore saltwater fishing. A medium rod is a great power to pair with a spinning reel.
