  1. He doesn't seem like a cool dude. Got a little tude with the cameraman because he may have stepped on a rod. Dude, you're a pro, you know what to expect having a camera in your boat. Those guys have one job to do and that's film. If you have 12 rods on one side of your deck, accidents will happen.
  2. Suppose you didn't watch any events from 2019... Side note, just saw Jeff Sprague foul hook a bass that I'm almost positive he was looking at (since he's poled down and just locked eyes on another). He brought it in and turned away from the camera, unhooked quick, then out her on the scale.
  3. What park? I'm in Arlington and have wanted to bring my boat down for the last 5 years but haven't found a place that isn't outlandish, costwise.
  4. Those longstanding BPT records;) hahaha
  5. Yeah, I was referring to the drop shot hooks. Never used the EWGs.
  6. If you're using the VMC spinshots, 100% blame the hook. I like the idea but those hooks just do not keep fish buttoned. I used them a handful of times and lost more than I landed. Went back to gammies and it's night and day different.
  7. I see a lot of expensive rods on the decks and in the hands of the pros while watching all the live footage. Most of the pros I watch ARE using their sponsor rods and reels.
  8. I saw it on their website a couple days ago but it was already sold out.
  9. Hey Fellow New Yorkers, how many of you have done any kind of bass fishing on Tupper? It's only about 2 hrs from where I grew up and I've passed it many times on the way to visit my grandmother up in Peru, but never fished it. I'm familiar with some of the other Adirondack lakes and am kind of assuming it will fish pretty similar. My dad and I plan on fishing an event there with our team club in July. I'm hoping to get one day of practice in. Thanks!
  10. Right on man! Nice work and good luck at Nationals!
  11. 1/2 oz to 3/4 oz jig with a chigger craw or rage craw on the back.
  12. I'm in the "buy what's on sale" camp. The prices of most fluoro are pretty outrageous. I like Seaguar Abrazx but now that is $30+ a spool...nope. I won't touch Tatsu or Sunline Shooter. I've used Sniper, Assassin, Super, Trilene 100%, Vanish Trans, Pline tactical, Red Label, Yo zuri, and some others. Most of these have worked fine for me. If I had to pick one of the bunch I 'd say Trilene 100% or Tactical. Their good AND they seem to always be at least 50% off once a year so I can stock up.
  13. Great deal on Simms Transom Jacket and bibs. All sizes in jacket available, only big guy sized bibs. https://www.sierra.com/simms-transom-gore-tex-jacket-waterproof-for-men~p~897au/?filterString=s~simms%2F&merch=prod-rec-prod-prod897AU https://www.sierra.com/simms-transom-gore-tex-fishing-bibs-waterproof-for-men~p~897at/?filterString=s~simms%2F&merch=prod-rec-prod-prod897AT
  14. I had a pretty good gig for a few years. Had a good job in NNY where I'm from. Worked 4 days a week and fished 3. My GF at the time (now wife) was attending law school out of state and I stayed back, continued to work, and supported her while she was there. I fished a ton of tournaments with my dad and was able to visit her for a long weekend every month. After the GF/wife finished school I was able to find a job in the DC area and moved to be with her. The fishing suffered for sure but I still made several trips back to fish with my Pops. Fast forward to now and we have our first kid and still live in the DC area. Fishing is kind of an afterthought now, unfortunately. I'm planning a couple short trips back home to fish with my dad but it won't be anything like the days of old. I would love to be on the water like I used to but also wouldn't trade anything in the world for my wife and daughter. If I could have my family on the boat with me everyday, it would be a dream!
  15. I use all types of lines depending on what the cover is and what bait I'm using. I'm not a fan of leaders but do use them occasionally. I found that running the leader knot through the guides of the rod over and over will eventually weaken it (especially under the strain of fighting a fish). Yes, you should retie often, but I would rather not waste the time on the water so I either don't use them or make them short enough that they never reach the guides. You can throw any lure on any type of line and it will "work", it may just not be the best/most efficient for the job.
  16. I bet! Anna is the worst! And thanks, I'll be sure to post any updates.
  17. Yeah. I think those might be the only ones off limits. Makes no sense.
  18. Not every county. Jefferson and St Lawrence are off limits until 3rd week of June, even C&R.
  19. I throw 3/8 to 1/2 oz jigs with mine. Zero problems.
  20. They seem to like you an awful lot;)
  21. I think it happens like that so much because of the every fish counts format. Once you stumble across that big school, it's over.
  22. Def get it. I've never used any Loomis rods but I don't know why you'd need anymore sensitivity than the Xtreme. I use my 7'0 MH for jigs and light t-rigs.
  23. You are correct. My mistake.
