  1. This is from a Shimano Rep. I am sure some of you have read this elsewhere. It just makes good business sense. I understand your frustration as I am left handed also but there is not many of us compared to right handed people. " The answer is the same and will be the same. Sales vs. cost of development. I have covered this several times and no one seems to understand. We look at the demand and the possibility of sales. How many units of this model will we sell? Will we sell enough units to cover the development and production costs? Can we use the money in better ways such as developing new products/future models? All of these questions have to be answered. At times the best decision is to not release a Citica 101D and instead develop the Core 101MG. See where I'm going with this? We do offer the Curado 101D. The lefty Core is coming later this year."
  2. I used it for a while when it 1st. came out. I found I had way to many break offs. I e-mailed P-Line & they never replied so I switch brands & have not had a problem since.
  3. No need to get your draws in a wad. No one is forcing you to read the thread. Let the people that want to joke about spending money on fishing equipment have their fun. It is not hurting anyone. Have a nice day.
  4. I use Yo-Zuri Hybrid for my Frogs & Toads. I put a couple of drops of Tangle Free on the line from time to time to help prevent the kinks if you backlash. So far so good.
  5. If you are using a floating frog(like a Spro) then I would say no. Fluorocarbon tends to sink which would hinder the action of your bait. Most people use braid but I use copolymer as I like some stretch. I also use on toads.
  6. I would go with the ABU if you fish in brackish or salt water. Magnesium does not do well around salt water. Shimano says they have a coating to protect the reel from the salt but if you happen to scratch it you would have a problem. Why take a chance? For your info I am a Shimano type of guy but I thought I would mention that in case you did not know. Have a good New Year.
  7. I too have found the Cxx to have terrible memory problems, so much so I stop using it. What is more amazing R/W did not say Yo-Zuri ;D
  8. Shimano Metanium Mg7 Gear ratio Weight Bearings Line capacity 7.0:1 5.95oz. 8 ball bearings, 1 roller bearing 10lb-140yd, 12lb-120yd,14lb-100yd
  9. I am with Raul on this. I would not use them in brackish/saltwater. I have seen one after a couple of years of use in brackish water. I doubt if there was any cleaning done after using as the person did not know better. For the record it was not mine
  10. When I am not on the water
  11. Maybe KVD is using a Jackall Bros Aragon
  12. It could happen. Between the Gas prices & the trouble in the housing industry people are starting to slow down their spending. If the retail industry takes a hit it is likely to happen. That is my take.
  13. Look on e-bay for a Shimano Curado CU-200 B38 Gear ratio is 3.8:1 that is the right handed one. If your a lefty it's Shimano Curado CU-201-B38.
  14. I have been buying Shimano reels since 1975 or 76. I have over 40 of there reels & have never have had a problem.
  15. Does anyone have either of these reels? Now that the left-handed version is out the bait monkey is really pushing for a couple. If you have one what do you think of it? Can you compare it to another Shimano bait casting reel? I will probley get the Mg-7 & use them for fishing plastics on my 6' rods. Thanks
  16. I have had some good luck with them fishing around grass beds & stump fields. I have been using a 1/32 oz. weight with it & a reel with a 5.1:1 gear ratio. If I pull the bait with the rod I use a higher gear ratio reel. Nice fish George.
  17. See what happens when someone from Brooklyn thinks. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  18. After 21 years in the USN Submarine Force it's at least 2 pots a day, black
  19. I use them but I have not on a Fat Ika yet. I use them when I throw weightless baits, toads, senko's etc. They do hold the bait on the hook better. I think I paid $3.25 for 5 though.
  20. I hear the left handed version is not coming out until at least the spring of 2008. I was told the left handed ones don't sell as well. So it looks like I'll have to call in the Japanese Bait Monkey & pick up a couple of Matanium Mg-7's.
  21. I use a sensitive rod for crank bait fishing also. A big bass can inhale & exhale a bait & you not know it if you can't feel the wiggle of your bait. Watch bigmouth, Uncle Homer tells you he never felt that fish. As has been said already the high end sensitive rods do make a difference. You will feel more fish but it's up to you to set the hook.
  22. Mine are the Magnumlite 2001 GT. They also have a fish saver switch.
  23. I have 5 Bantam Magnumlite GT Plus with the fightin drag. I bought these reels in the late 70's @ K-Mart for $84.95, I still have the boxes. The reels are in excellent shape & I still use them from time to time.
  24. I think the Okuma VS series has a 5 year warranty. I also think they are the better of the two that you mentioned. The warranty is better 5 vs 1. By the way I have both reels so from using them both I would go with the VS series.
  25. I am Looking at a new Ranger that has that system. My question is do you have just 1 x-ducer? I am wondering how you can have 2 x-ducer's on the same data wire as the front & the back of the boat will not always be at the same depth. It also has 1 GPS antenna so if you mark a waypoint on your front unit & the antenna is on the back you are at least a boat length off. I must be missing something can someone that has the system how it works. Thank You
