Get a small bubbler and run the air line through a small hole drilled in the top.

How have you simplified soft plastic choice?
I am a big Zoom fan, Yum fan, Rage Tail fan, etc. Last count I had 12 colors of Trickworm. I caught 90% of my fish this year on Junebug or Candybug. Last week we had an epic day on yearling bass and they liked bright colors, especially fire tail in a hook tail Luck E Strike. Go figure. It was fun. A fish on almost every cast. Would not touch my crank baits or spinners. I was on a boat instead of a kayak so I took a large boat bag. On the kayak I only take three 3600 boxes, one for top, one middle and one bottom, unless I am in an experimental phase, trying something new. A kayak teaches you to simplify by necessity. On days when I have a limited amount of time, I will take a pack of Junebug and a bag of Candy bug Trickworms, some 3/16 & 1/4 bullet weights, and some hooks. Seems like I do just as well.

Jig confusion
An Arkie is a good all round choice, according to the gurus. I took their word for it and have kept it simple.

Transition Year....A lot of work
From what I have read, rivers are generally in decline, reservoirs are generally holding their own. There are more Bass than ever, because there is more holding water. You can get depressed about the effects of development on river systems.

Popular Colors That Don't Produce for You!
I fish stained and muddy water. Reds are not consistent for me. Trying to find something as good as June Bug.

When To Fish A Craw, Lizard, Worm, Etc.
I generally start and end with a trickworm. If fish are hot, I go with something with more action like a U vibe worm or creature. If I'm catching dinks, I change sizes.

DIY plastic keepers on hooks
Similar to the line below the nose method, you can just put the line through one end of a swivel, tie the knot on the hook leaving the swivel free above it. Put you worm nose on the hook and get it in place, put the other end of the swivel on the hook and snug up to the bottom of the worm head. Attach the worm over the point Texas rigged. Works on any style hook.

Boat Positioning with Kayaks
I use a folding wade staff as a stake out poll in my anchor trolly. I use my paddle that stays across my lap to position. Often I sit on top of lilly pads.

coffee water?
Start with what worked before. Then top, middle, bottom baits.

How do you store hooks?
I use the safety pins inside a plastic plano. I also keep some in my worm binder pockets.

Spinning plastics
Not sure. It makes me wonder if I have had the problem and didn't notice it with braid. Maybe put a swivel up the line about 8 inches.

High water temps, bright sun, little wind, stained water.
At first I thought you were describing my home water.LOL. In the South, LMB fishing goes well in muddy water. T rigged plastics, fished slowly near structure and cover (wood and weeds/pads). Or a jig. Dark colors with glitter. I do best with trick worms or U vibe worms in Candy bug, Junebug, or other dark colors. Black and blue jigs. Hop and soak and slowly drag, twitch, etc. Repeat. If there is wind, I have good luck with spinner baits. If it is calm, try top water. I agree, they need to toughen the laws on drinking and driving. Also texting.

Spinning plastics
I can't comment on the whopper. For plastics, are your hooks t rigged straight? Is there a flat side to the bait? What style weight are you using?

Lures for beginners
I started my kids on bobber and worms for gills. Then moved to spoons and in line spinners. Then fly . Now plastic worms.

Live Worms?
Youtube Richard Gene the Fishing Machine. He is a good ole boy from AL who has a lot of good videos on bait fishing for bass. He mostly has videos about crappie, but he can catch fish. Funny too, if you like southern corn ball humor. I would like him better if he would quit wearing all of his @#$/^& Bama merchandise. Avoid the rush, hate the Crimson Tide early.

Favorite way to use a Trickworm?
I have mostly used them Texas rigged, and with good success. What is your favorite way to use them? Shaky, Neko, wacky, split shot, something else?
