  1. Just to change it up for the championship round. Too many anglers pounding Lake Fork for multiple days. Start fresh for championship, level field and something new. They have done this before, I kind of like it, although it takes the anglers a little more time to figure the lake out, etc which can result in slower catch rates. They do however usually get one day of practice.
  2. 2 questions: Was the DT10 Crankbait deflecting off of anything on the bottom? How deep of water was he in? Was the crank hitting bottom or was it just being pulled through the water column? How many of you have ever drove your boat in a circle to 'stir' up the bait/school and keep them fired? Interesting technique he used. Half the time I think the big motor and noise scare everything away, etc. Thanks!
  3. Haha I can just imagine how many people get whacked with that net flinging around in FLW, etc. I've I agree, no net adds to the sport, but it puts a little more strain on everything, including the fish. Hence the 'fish first' moments. I've so far seen rods snap from high sticking, I'm sure guys get hooks in the hand, etc. But 90% of the time everything goes pretty smooth without the net. Side note: I ALWAYS use a net in my boat, unless they are something like a 10in bass. I don't catch enough fish that I need the extra excitement hahaha
  4. Definitely the bite has slowed over the days. Lots of anglers saying pressure has affected the fish! Fletcher even said 16 boats were in his pocket in the morning, but he fished it in the afternoon once everything calmed down and most people left. Anyone know now what happened to mjds boat? lol did anyone see someone ( I think sprague) hit the underwater log/stump with his boat, totally could see the impact as he was driving etc. can’t be good for the hull haha
  5. LOL I've never seen so many guys with 5lb fish. And over 80lbs on the first day?! I wonder if all this hammering will eventually sizzle out by the 3rd or 4th day... due to pressure...
  6. These are the lines I love haha!
  7. Yes, very likely. I don't know why I thought he said floating worm at some point but seems more likely to be a trick worm.
  8. I'm confused at your question, but I'll stab at what I think you're talking about... There are 'multiple' pro tournament circuits out there, and thus this spreads the guys out across different circuits. Its sometimes not allowed or too tough to fish multiple circuits. I guess they could have a once a year 'all star' tourney where all the top guys from different circuits come together, but I don't know that will happen. Yes, overall, I suppose it comes down to money and sponsorships and eligibility that comes down to which pros are in which circuits. If you have some further examples to clarify, that would be handy.
  9. Still unbelievable these lure companies haven't figured out the 'yearly patterns' and then up their production lines to increase stock on the known movers...
  10. Oooo pretty chilly! Definitely more on the pre-spawn side. Thanks for the tip on the RED lipless haha a staple spring bait proving it's worth!
  11. Anyone know what the water temps are roughly?
  12. Dang, you're a nice brother!
  13. TW Classic sale is live: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/bmcsalepage.html Also seems they got Dobyns Fury rods on sale...
  14. Have you fished them in optimal conditions and on different bodies of water?
  15. Could depend on your water clarity. Also the chatterbait has a distinct sound/vibration that bass may be trained to avoid, where the swim jig is a 'silent' killer
  16. I think this format eliminates some of the 'luck' factor.... You can throw a stick worm and catch 20 fish, and 15 will be 2lb fish, and maybe 5 will be 5lb fish. It's a bit of luck of just what size fish bites the lure. Obviously there are some lures that 'tend' to get bigger bites. I like the 2lb minimum to really get away from a super dink fest. Even for the guys getting lots of 2lb'ers, they have to catch 3 of those fish for ever 1 6lb fish. That's a little more work. I'll just say this... I don't think ANY format will ever be perfect or meet everyone's style. So we can't expect it to.
  17. Wow, what a great emotional speech by Powroznik. His dad has passed away, and he was fishing the last spot him and his dad got to fish together. Dang... thats heavy...
  18. Glad to see someone other (Powroznik) than Wheeler win. He sure got close though! I tend to root for the underdog, at least just someone different to mix things up. Lee sure didn't make an appearance today, interesting. Just goes to show you all these guys are good, its just kind of who gets on the flurry of fish, etc... Tell me more about the 'swimmin worm' that Powroznik was throwing. Maybe a swim senko? I live in CA so maybe its not as popular out here as in FL. Powroznik said his friend told him you gotta throw a swimmin worm in FL.
  19. These announces are pretty funny. Can be corny, but I love it, I find myself laughing quite a lot. Maybe I like their dumb jokes... Here's a few from the past couple minutes: If we were in a horse race, we got a Clydesdale on our hands (referring to Powroznik) Sheesh, how long was that cast, must have been all the way up to Lake Fork (as another angler reeled in a fish) They were also asking if Wheeler I think was drinking a white claw So many good ones, we gotta start replying with our favorites
  20. In ocean boating, I have learned that if your motor dies and you are about to drift into the surf / rocks, you throw an anchor before you get to close. This will allow you to 'sit' in deep water until help arrives. I believe all freshwater boaters should also have an anchor for the same reason!
  21. Dang Lee just lost a big one right at the boat... I guess no nets are allowed to make it more 'fun'? hahaha
  22. Or at least a rope with clips across the dam so you can jump ship with a life jacket on and hold onto the rope and let the boat go? What a tragedy.
  23. Yeah, I missed a lot of it, but he found some good ones, looked like a white and chartreuse vibrating jig? Or I couldn't quite see what he was using. Sometimes it looked like he was working it like a jerkbait.
  24. Yeah, thats gotta be pretty rough being the other brother.... J. Lee has some great comebacks lately, but the last tourney on the final day he wasn't able to reproduce anything he did in his comeback run and ended in 9th. I'm not saying it's easy, but it just goes to show some days and spots can be on fire, and the next day go dry... Each time he has a big comeback, he says he made a 'big move/big gamble' and it pays off for the day, but he's gotta follow it up and be consistent in the days after that as well...
  25. Alright, alright, J. LEE made an amazing comeback today on... wait for it... black/blue stickworm!! Berkely General to be exact, pegged with a small bullet sinker. Fishing in very slick calm shallow canals, so not sure why he needs the weight, maybe just for bite detection, I would probably be fishing weightless? WOW, he just caught like a 6lb 7oz monsta... on his stick bait. WOWZA!!
