  1. Thanks GK. For everyone else, please see OPs thread in "everything else".
  2. When I was growing up, my dad always said "don't ***** where you eat". Words to live by.
  3. Man, gotta love that stripper fishing!
  4. Your gonna love that reel, what did you trade him?
  5. Whats the best knot for joining braid and mono or flouro?
  6. The fish are most likely swallowing the hook because you are not setting it properly, take some slack out of your line and you will be able to feel the bite, and with practice you will be lip hooking them in no time. I used to gut hook bass years ago, using lizards especially, because I would let the lizard sit on the bottom with slack line, and the hook wouldn't set until the fish inhaled the lizard and was starting to swim away, then it's too late.
  7. As a child, up until I was around 20, I went saltwater fishing often,we had a boat out of Salisbury Mass. Then one day, I got sick as a dog, and we were on a party boat, out for 6 hours, thought I was gonna die, threw up stuff that wasn't supposed to come up. After that trip, I thought maybe it was just a fluke, so I went out again, not a good idea, sick again, and every time after that, sick. I went out 2 years ago with my wife, and I took some dramamine or something like that, and didn't get sick, but felt queasy most of the trip. I guess my question is, how did this motion sickness happen upon me as an adult, and by the way I would get motion sick since I was a child if I was in the backseat of cars. Also, regarding getting sick from the wind, cold and rain, they won't make you sick, but they can help to suppress your immune system so that if you are exposed to a virus you could get sick.
  8. I'm not referring to reincarnation, but their belief that life is but a dream. Row,row, row your boat..
  9. How much do you weigh, just to get perspective.
  10. Buddha and Meher Baba. Read them.
  11. Bruins will win this one just out of revenge, but until they get rid of Julien, they are too soft to win it all.
  12. What he said.
  13. Consistent discipline from mom and dad. My wife and I have 3 kids, and we have to be on the same page and consistent with the punishments, and rewards, and when the kids see that both mom and dad won't put up with the "no" crap, they stop pretty quickly. I also think a pat on the fanny is not the worst thing, but only for extreme situations.
  14. I stopped there 2 years ago, and while I can't give you specific fishing tips, I can tell you that it's a beautiful lake, and a wonderful place to spend a couple days. It's also a very big lake, and when I was there we had little traffic, and that was middle of the summer.
  15. Like I aid, if your supervisor said it's ok, then your fine.
  16. Guitarkid, your right, it is a norman.
  17. If that is the case, then I would speak with my supervisor and explain that to him, and ask him what you could do during times like that. If he says it's ok to surf, then go for it, but if he says clean the floor, then live with it and surf on your scheduled breaks. When I say clean the floor, I'm using that as an example of something company related to do, not literally clean the floor.
  18. looks like a bandit, I have a few like that, just different color sparkles.
  19. I have 2 and they both came with split rings.
  20. The roumba is something different for the fish, and the sebile mr goes down 2 or 3 feet, so it's not as shallow as the others, but works great.
  21. Essentially what it comes down to is this: If the person or persons paying your wages deems it unacceptable for you to do ANYTHING while on their clock, then it's unacceptable. Life is full of choices, and the choice would be to look elsewhere for employment, become your own boss, or live with the rules made by the people paying you. If you choose to look for another job, be sure to keep out the part where you like to surf forums while on the clock. I do think, if you are allowed a break, which most states mandate every couple of hours, then it's within your right to do whatever during that time, but "downtime" could and should be spent trying to do something for the business. Like my dad used to say when I worked for him, there is ALWAYS something to do.
  22. What are you fishing thru? Rocks? Weeds? Wood? Are you dragging the bait? Hopping it?
  23. if you decide to sell some, pm me. They look awesome!
  24. I hit Cobbetts pond this morning for my first time on the water this year. Caught 7 lmb all between 1 and 3 lbs, in about 3 hours, 7am til 10 am. Great feeling to finally be on the water again.
