  1. I have the mbr843 and the jwr852s. Have only used the 843. I used it most of last Subday throwing a spinner bait. It's my first loomis casting rod. I was very pkeased with the rod. Easy to cast and handled fish great. After that day of fishing I bought the 852 the following Monday. I hope to put it to use this weekend.
  2. I keep the spin shot hooks with a leader tied on ready to go. If I decide to drop shot that day I just tie the hook on and slip on a weigh.
  3. I've been using fluorocarbon with buzz baits a few years now. I've never had any issues keeping the bait on top of the water
  4. I use the Plano speed bags. I keep plastics in the original packages stored in plastic totes. I pull out what I need and put into a bag for the day. Each bag holds about 20 packs. Occasionally I'll take 2 bags.
  5. For a condo make sure you look at the place multiple times and ideally while the neighbors are there to see how loud they are. If you can I'd recommend an end unit on the top floor to limit shared walls with neighbors.
  6. The core will give you the option of switching to a shallow spool. I don't think the brenious can use the standard spools from the other 50 sized reels. You can get the avail or yumeya spools to fit the core.
  7. It's a 50e series reel with a high gear ratio and a shallow spool
  8. I'd look into the new loomis e6X as well. I would think the 783 or 843 sjr would meet what you are looking for
  9. Took the new loomis out today. Threw a 3/8 Oz spinner bait most of the day Caught 6 fish, and ended the day with a 5.25 lber. I was very pleased with the rod. It felt great with 5 lbs on the other end
  10. They will check you no matter what type of boat you are in.
  11. This was in the greenville sc store.
  12. Do it. When are you going to find a deal like this again?
  13. I was surprised as well. I've been trying to find this rod, but as you said most places are back ordered. Never imagined they'd have it in stock and on sale.
  14. I went to cabelas at lunch today and was looking through the rod racks to see if they had any of the E6X rods in stock yet. To my surprise, not only were they in stock but casting rods were on sale for $145. So I'm now the owner of a new mbr 843. Now I need to decide whether to put the chronarch 50e or a scorpion 1000xt on the rod. If you are interested in getting one if these rods and are near a cabelas it's worth the trip.
  15. Wow, y'all take your rods personally.
  16. Gorilla tape.
  17. Sweet 16!!!!!!!
  18. I've been trying find additional 50e's and they seem to have gone up a lot in the last year. I was finding them in decent shape for $125, now people are paying over $200 for them.
  19. I just use a few feet to keep the braid from slipping. I spool the rest up with braid
  20. The academy aluminum pliers are excellent. No issues with rust and they are relatively cheap
  21. Pleaseen provide a review on the E6X rods after you get some time on the water with them
  22. Changing reels isn't going to move the balance point very much. Adding weight to the button is much more effective due to the longer moment arm.
  23. I want to try one, but was hoping to see some more reviews before making a purchase. I have money set aside to by a new rod this year, but I can't make up my mind on what to get, and then have to figure out what reel to buy for the new rod
  24. Have any of you used jumper cables? I was thinking of picking up a set and cutting off the ends to use for my trolling motor. It's the best price I can find for you ga wire and the positive and negative are connected together so it should be easier to route.
