Funny that you caught that and it's true, he's not supposed to where them. I asked him about that at the end of the game and he said he just forgot to take it off after his at bat the inning before. He thought he was getting pulled and was going to play the field. The next pitcher had to take off an arm sleeve. Go figure.

Probably slowed the fall a little more and if I'm not mistaken, make a bit more noise as the blade is spinning. Good idea here as well, ads a wake to the spinnerbait then kill it like you mention.

Slowly became the team's #1 starter this year. His last 2 games he went the distance with a low pitch count and this game he went 4 innings, they play 7 at this level.

Depending on the mood of the fish, I've had a slight twitch in the line, the line shooting off in another direction feeling weightless, the lure feels weightless, the lure feels snagged, but not moving, the lure gets smacked on splash down (once I actually had a fish jump out of the water to inhale it prior to splash down) and lastly, the lure gets smacked with all the subtleties of a runaway freight train. I'm missing some other ways here, but I'm sure you'll experience all these. I fish weighted and weightless t-rigs on semi-slack line. Cast, let out a little line for a straight fall and maintain a slight bow in the line. You should be able to feel what's going on with the business end. All the above suggestions for retrieves are very good ones. Once the dog days of summer hit, my most productive retrieve is nothing. Just cast and let it drop. I've waited like a minute dead sticking a weightless rig and made a pattern out of it. Good luck

Definitely my favorite spinnerbait technique is helicoptering down a steep bank. A nice short arm spinnerbait works great for this.

All great stories here. One day I was fishing a crankbait and felt something weird. I thought I had snagged but could feel a fish on my line, but I could tell that the fish wasn't on my crankbait. It was heavy and a struggle to reel in. I final got my lure back and on the belly treble was a 3 way swivel that was hooked dead center. The 3 way had a line going out, so I hand lined in an caught a rainbow trout. Strange thing about it, there was no other line or sinker on the 3 way.

Saturday was my first day out with the new T-Rigs I made: These worked great! I redesigned the line eye attachment and even made a new bait keeper clip (not shown here) and was an excellent rig to fish with. The soft plastic stayed put and held up well to the 2 fish I got into in the 2 hours I had time for. The fish have retreated from shore. I'm getting bites on off-shore structure. 1 was on a hump and the other was on the second weedline. Have a good day fellas.

Couldn't agree more. I witnessed it for the 8 years I coached my son's baseball team. Not many parents wanted to help. In fact, it seemed like they just wanted to drop their kids off so we can watch them for a couple of hours.

Supposedly the color red disappears in water after about 5' and looks like a neutral color. What does this mean for a hook? Nothing. Just remember, plenty of fish were caught before the advent of colored hooks. If your confidence dictates a colored hook then fish a colored hook. Where I fish, there are no colored hook police. We just have mattress police out here.

Yep, I've heard of it before. Never bought into it, but like always, if adding an eye provides conviction - aka confidence - for fishing a lure then have at it.

Couldn't agree more with what has been said, the dealer's reputation and personal experience ultimately get my business and are the one's that give the auto brand a good or bad name. I've had my own dealings with 2 different dealerships that sell different auto manufacture's products and would never buy from those dealers again. Usually for me, it always came down to the service departments and not so much the auto techs. The auto techs, at least around here, get paid piece work. If there's no work, they don't get paid to hang around the shop waiting for something to come in. If something comes in and the customer gets quoted an estimate for time and materials and the repair took longer, the tech gets paid for the quoted time and not a dime more. Yet they're considered company employees and not subcontractors. Not sure why you'd want to work for a company that way.

Redesigned the rig and clip system. I took out the wire twist at the line tie and formed a loop only with the tag end sliding down the bullet weight. I felt as though the twisted wire at the line tie was a pond snot magnet. The clip has been totally redesigned to a simpler design. Less likely to pick up vegetation. Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic. Will post later. Getting my wire bending mojo back. May be looking to do some spinners again for the fall season.

I read in an earlier post that you're from RI? What lakes? I'm just north of you and have been catching them in lily pads, and out on a second weedline, points and drop offs. The pond I just fished had a bluegill spawn, so they were crashing pads. The last time I checked, the gills were off the beds, so maybe think a little further out during the day. Try and fish lures that can be cast a little further like lipless crankbaits, t-rigged worms and spoons and try and fish off shore structure. In the morning and evening hours you can go topwater, spinnerbaits, jigs, weightless soft plastic stickbaits in the shallows.

Brag away!!! My son just started pitching last year on his 13U team and was good for 2 innings before they pulled him. This year on his 14U team he started out going 4 and the last 2 games has been going the distance. He's mixing in a fastball, curve and changeup and has been very efficient with his pitcher as you daughter is. In my mind, you should always brag about your kids when they do something extraordinary! Good job coach. Looks like a waste of a good bottle of wine.

Inline spinners: That I believe is a 3/16 oz with an owner mosquito hook and #4 Colorado. Made that up a few years ago, so I may be wrong with the weight of the sinker, it could be 1/4 oz. Another pic I forgot I had:
