Never seizes to amaze me how employers want loyalty to them but don't show any back?!? Good luck bud, I hope it all works out.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Got out Saturday for a bit and got a couple at Houghton's Pond. They were in lily pads and at the second weed line. Was having trouble getting a t-rig down in the pads, so I went home and made these up: I hope to try these out later in the week. Fish Wednesday and don't fish on Thursday. These games have been exciting, but getting over late.

Punch Rig...Sort Of
I haven't bent wire in a while, used to make inline spinners and such, but I was finding bass in lily pads and wanted something to keep the bullet weight from sliding up and came up with these: I always use a barrel swivel bait keeper but couldn't use here so I came up with this: and The clip was based on the parasite clip and as you can see it has some kinks in it from bending and rebending to get the right size. I'll use as a prototype and will make a few more. Definitely rusty with my wire bending technique after a few years of inactivity, but it's coming back to me.

One of my favorite times to fish for bass is when bluegill spawn. Saw some beds last Sunday and hope to take advantage of this period tomorrow. Good luck to those who are on the water or have plans this weekend to be on the water.

Time travel to 1973 classic, how would we do?
I was 7 back in '73, so my butt would have been wiped by those great fishermen.

Kind of don't know...
As stated above, it really could be anything. A few years ago I got new line over the winter, went fishing and was breaking off like crazy. Long story short, the line was dried out and was junk. Bought new line, respooled and had no problems. Like @Catt say, it's fishing and not catching.

Thank you A-Jay, this is the first time in a very long time I had to zoom out the display on my screen to read a post.

Proud Father Moment
@Log Catcher, LMAO! That would be great, but it appears that it's getting harder and harder and more expensive to navigate your way thru life these days. I just hope she makes a soft landing after college and hits the ground running. Thanks for the kind post fellas, really appreciative.

Proud Father Moment
Hard to believe that my daughter is graduating from high school tonight. Where did the time go?! Amanda is graduating with high honors and received 2 scholarships towards her college education. Sorry, not trying to brag, just proud!

I'd be curious as to how you do on the stripers, I'm looking to fish them in the next couple of weeks.

school me on paddle tail swimbaits
Like @Log Catcher I use them t-rigged. I'm fishing weedy lakes and find that the t-rig hangs up less. Like most have posted I basically slow roll, but will hop along if nothing is hitting on a slow roll. Swim Senkos have been the hotter baits for me.

- Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
My son had a tournament last weekend starting on Friday, so I took Friday off and hit Houghton's pond in the morning for my first fish since my outing just after ice out. Got 4 with the biggest at 2 lbs. All were on a Swim Senko t-rigged with a 3/16 oz bullet weight (brass). nothing hit the Rippin Rap or a spinnerbait. Felt good to get out and get the juices flowing again.- .28 MB upload limit???
That'll teach ya for posting pics of your bathroom reno for mother's day...hahaha- Trickster Wanna Be
@A-Jay, how'd these wanna be's work for you?- Denny Brauer fishing
In this book, he talks about an assortment of lures he uses and techniques/patterns on where to use them. As mentioned above, he did like crankbait fishing.- Show Off Your Work!
Very similar to a Charlie Brewer Slider. Not sure who makes that one.- Do you know anyone who quit fishing?
I'm close to it. Don't have any time anymore. My son's baseball season is getting longer, this year his season will go into August. When it's done I have maybe 6-8 weekends at my home in Maine to relax a bit and then projects start up at one of the houses. Last year I didn't even get a fishing license. Darn close to just getting rid of all my gear and calling it quits.- Any plumbers out there? Bathtub Spout problem.
No need to clean the pipe's interior, you did a good job cleaning the exterior though. Sand the interior of the fitting itself, the end you're going to slide over the pipe and solder. only need to get in there about a 1/2" - 3/4" or so. Maybe sand the end of the pipe where you cut it off one more time just for confidence that you're getting a good solder job. Looks good so far! - Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
