  3. Please look at Daiwa or Tw specs on the actual rods (guides, not guides + tip)... 9 on steez 9 on zillion 8 on tatula elite. Not a Tatula blank. Maybe not a Steez but 100000% not a Tatula. Google Daiwa Flexlite. Pages upon pages of info on Steez/flexlite.
  4. www.rodprotech.com hands down. Lightest neoprene you'll find. Can get with integrated reel covers (including spinning reels) and lure wraps. Tons of colors. Florida made. Really inexpensive for a hand made in America product. The owner is a person you'd call a friend for life after a 5 minute talk. I'd upload mine but pix are too big. They float too! https://www.instagram.com/p/C3p6MU9spso/?img_index=1
  5. Can't go wrong with MN Fisher's advice on this
  6. The Tatula rod should have you covered. A 300 Tatula for baits that weight is way overkill. A Tatula 150 or 200 on the Tatula will get you set. I've got the 7'9" model Tatula swimbait rod and it's great (with a Tatula 200). The previous generation BassX 710 Hf swimbait rod is like $80 shipped from St Croix and covers .75 to 3 oz. I've got one and it's great for trebles in the size you mention. I run a Shimano Citca E on it and it's been a really solid set up.
  7. 1000% agreed. I did get one and will have it in my hands next week
  8. Also on the site above your screen shot.
  9. Anyone whose got rod building experience can attest, if you build blank X with say 8 guides, you'll use 8 the next time (as long as not micros) you use that same blank. No need to add or subtract guides, especially add since you are adding weight and cost. Compare the 73MHf models Steez and Tatula, Steez have 9 guides and Tatula has 8. Obviously for different blank material and flex profile would necessitate a different number of guides. New Zillion has 9 guides in the 73MHf model. I'm leaning towards this not being a Tatula blank based on process and economics of build. Zillion has Sic rings....
  10. I see the same generic graphite and resin terms that daiwa uses (svf, nano, etc) but zillion has flex-lite blank like steez. Tatula doesn't have the 75mhh model, steez does. I don't think it's conclusive enough to say it's the same either way. Update: mine will be here next week
  11. Super high end bearings start faster and spin longer but in a fishing reel that has spool tension and brakes holding them back it's a somewhat limited performance upgrade. Like taking steroids but not working out. OEM shimano and daiwa bearings are 95% of the super high end bearings at 40%ish the cost. Super high end bearings in bicycle hubs and rc cars makes a big difference as they have high rotational speeds for longer durations with no hindrances. If I had to upgrade I'd do abec 5 stainless and tsi321 oil and call it good.

  13. I'd love to get some to jig lakers up here.
  14. Amazon must have known I looked at this thread and jacked the kastking prices up lol.
  15. I guess the question needs to be asked, what sort of set up are you throwing them on? We can recommend a S-Waver 200 but your gear is only suitable for a 120. Smaller: Deps 175 S-Wave 168 Raid G-Dash Raid okasana glide Shimano Next step up: Spro Chad Baitsanity antidote Jackal Gantarel Bps Shad glide thing Big Deps 250 (Can be had for well under msrp) S-Waver 200 Baitsanity Explorer
  16. Cast/melt forged ti is more brittle than steal. Light yes but not terribly durable
  17. If it's true they're a working man's steez
  18. Looks like a LTB with a different grip. Same tapers and powers (and blank and price) as the new LTB. I guess if you dig the trigon handle you'll love this rod.
  19. Looks like a Daiwa "Expride". Lots of unique powers and tapers. ~$300. Supposedly a classic release
