  1. Way nicer than a Tatula blank (which is a great blank). But $40 shipping is harsh.
  2. Amazon has the 2023 Daiwa Lexa 3000lt for $115 right now. Think Fuego but with an aluminum gear case/foot.
  3. Carolina rig: Speedcraw hands down Texas rig: Pit Boss or Senko
  4. Hear me out... baits with a lot of contrast. Black back Chartruese for example. They're going to hear/feel the thing no problem. But black->Chartruese->black-> Chartruese flickering gets their attention. It's sort of step beyond the Chartruese or pearl colors. Remember bass see colors different than we do. So contrast (bright/dark) gets attention.
  5. Sobro has a bunch of light and vented hats. They do the 6th Sense hat out right now thatyou might have seen. A really nice product and cool designs but... I have a head the same size as the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs, and their biggest cut is not big enough. I also use an Army surplus boonie hat.
  6. Around Christmas into the Feb dobyns and Phenix stuff was randomly super discounted. MBX for $100, certain Kaden models under 100. The XG was 67 in that time. Keep checking bc they are still doing it, just not as often.
  7. Osakana Slide 170, Raid Ghost wire with a 6" swimbait, big jerkbaits, 4.8 Keitechs, the list goes on and on. In a pinch flip a senko with it... then laugh that it's actually not bad at that as well!
  8. It's not a loomis... but... the Evergreen Shower Blows model (7'2" mh mf) in their lines is a very special rod for moving single hooks as well as larger trebles. If you were nearby I would lend you one (yes I bought a spare lol).
  9. Deps 250. New paid about $85. Nothing on the market compared for that price at the time. Will probably outlast the 53 bags of speedcraws I have at 5-6 dollars a bag.
  10. Football field and a stick. Tie your line to it. Walk to the other goal line. Reel in. That's about as accurate as it gets unfortunately.
  11. 8/0 would be big on 5". If I remember correctly a 6" with an 1/8oz beast was about 1.5oz (little heavier than a Magdraft Freestyle with same hook).
  12. I think one of your buddies is pretty funny.
  13. My first 3 vision 110s were acquired this way
  14. I waited 3 months for an in-stock items (4 in stock when I ordered). Got to the point where I presented the 4 different stories I was given by staff and the fact someone who ordered the same item after I did, got theirs and miraculously mine shipped a day later. Great products no doubt but poor operations (best case).
  15. $45 in tungsten to pickrel (plus hooks/baits)
  16. I see that now. GSM has shifted the discounts to Phenix models. XG rod is $67
  17. On Amazon they have the Dobyns 734cb (Cranking rod) in the Kaden line for like $95-135 fairly often. Nice enough rod to do something you don't do a lot of but not hate life when you do it. I love my Evergreen Combat Stick Shower Blows rod for shallow cranks, lipless, square bills. Basically every moving baits works well on it.
  18. I needed antidepressants when mine broke. The Evergreen Shower Blows Combat Stick is suuuuuuper similar, I actually like it better.
  19. That western shoreline (facing east) looks good for spring. Gradient isn't as steep, gets lots of sun, still access to deep water. It's not so much the size of the lake it's the amount of fishable water. Lake Champlain (my home) is a huge lake by all accounts. But it has a lot of "a waste of time" water. Find the fishy areas and go to town. Want your mind blown... go to the St Lawrence. Every inch from Massena to The Duck islands in Ontario is fishable.
  20. I have been looking for a spinning reel for my soon to be built small football jig rod. Budget is sort of tight but I had gift cards. Loved my Daiwa Black Golds but they would be heavy on this build. Nasci and Fuego are nice but they just feel plasticy. Great reputations but ehh feel to me. Digging around I came across the '23 Daiwa Lexa LT. Hmmm basically a Fuego with an aluminum body. Ohhh shallow spool available. So I pulled the trigger on a 3000s model of Amazon. $115... 110yds of 8lb is plenty (going to be 20lb braid to leader). Quarter ounce heavier than a Fuego. Yes there's 30" of ice on Champlain soooo not a test/review post yet. However if it's an Aluminum Fuego for less than a Fuego then I'm pretty confident it's going to be good. Dig around folks you can find some cool stuff.
  21. FWIW... some dude was shilling his grubs within 3 hours of weight in ending lol.
  22. Maybe... maybe used as a bfs platform they'd be ok. Wouldn't pay more than $100 for one. The flex was noticeable when fighting average fish.
  23. After today's BASS win, the countdown til "game changer" grubs hitting the market has started. I love that Hank won and in that manner.
  24. Tackle bros just did a very brief overview of the 2026 Megabass new releases. Those new Levante rods look great at $200. Clearance current models should be nice too!
