  1. Welcome to the forums. I agree, there is too much trash at our lakes.
  2. With all due respect to everyone else...I agree with Avid!!
  3. LOL...and some people still think a 5" swimbait is BIG. :-? Thanks for sharing the picture Raul.
  4. Fishing for numbers and not size is my worst habit. I need to leave the rat catchers at home. ;D
  5. HAHAHA...don't kid yourself. The baitmonkey works that way. He doesn't just slam you from the get go. He eases you in. Once you're in...there is no getting out. That is when he slams you.
  6. I really don't want to get into this again...but Mac could have very easily denied it was foul hooked. It would have been a "He said, He said" situation then. Who would you have believed? Bob Crupi went threw the same crap when he caught the 22.01 in the early 90's. It sucks man. It really sucks how some people can become so jealous that it blinds them. I really get the feeling that some of you are trashing these guys because they are from "Kaliforny". I highly doubt this kind of heat would be thrown if this was Florida or Texas we were talking about. If the record is broken in California you guys would still slam it because of the fact that we stock lakes with trout. I realize now that we will never win with you guys.
  7. Biggest ever landed works just fine with me. Besides...it's just a matter of time before it falls in California, Texas, Florida, Mexico or Cuba. Then let the real debates begin!
  8. Totally illegal in California.
  9. Maybe the baby is Mac Weakley...
  10. Agreed! I still have a shot!
  11. Too much to talk about... Seriously though...some months I spend up to $300 and some months I spend $0. It all depends on what I "need" at the moment. These first 5 months of the year have not been pretty for my wallet though.
  12. Sounds like the prop is munched to me...causing too much cavitation. It's like spinning your tires in a car that doesn't have good grip. If you step on it the tires will spin but if you ease into it you're all good. Now I don't know how this effects traditional boats...but a PWC with a banged up prop will do what you are describing. If the prop is really banged up, the PWC wont move no matter how much you ease the throttle. It could also be that the prop is the wrong size and/or pitch for your setup.
  13. Now the question for you that catch bigger fish from 10am to 4pm. Does cloud cover have anything to do with your success?
  14. Until the IGFA gets it right...this dead horse will continue to be beaten to a bloody pulp. But...I'll take the high road on this one. I have already ranted enough about it. :-X
  15. My top 3 are: 1) Purple Pearl w/Blue flake (#234) Great color for night fishing. 2) Watermelon w/Black flake (#194) 3) Blue Pearl w/Silver flake (#031) Add a shade of brown in there and I'm pretty much covered. Dark Pumpkin w/Black flake (#286) works well.
  16. So...75 years for the photo to surface? Gee...I wonder why it surfaced in the age of computers and PHOTOSHOP! : ;D If this photo surfaced in the 50's,60's,70's or even 80's...I'd buy it. But this is 2006. My 16 year old brother can probably chop a photo to make it look like I caught a 22 pounder also. By the way...I have not seen the photo yet. But I'm skeptical even without seeing it. 75 years to release a photo that is in such demand? Like I asked...what bass??
  17. 4 pounds 8 ounces on a 5" Senko (Purple Pearl w/Blue Flake). I have lost a couple that were probably 5+. :'(
  18. Russ, I know where you're coming from. I never thought you, or anyone else, were knocking senko users. Your assessment is right on. My point is the senko did not retard the learning curve for a generation of anglers. Anglers who rely soley on the senko, or any one bait for that matter, have retarded their own learning curve. Sure, the argument can be made that if it wasn't for the senko we wouldn't be having this discussion. But again...it's all in the anglers hands.
  19. I understand that...but why blame the senko. Blame the anglers for being closed minded and not throwing anything else. Afterall...no one forced anyone to buy senkos/stick baits. I'm the first to admit that I've been throwing senkos more than anything else recently. But I still change it up if the senko bite doesn't feel right. If it wasn't for the senko...I would have a lot less confidence in other soft plastics at this point. The senko is what tought me how to slow down. Until I started using senkos and fat ikas I didn't know how to slow down. It still took me a while to realize that slow is best but I learned. If that has retarded my learning curve then so be it. I can't help the fact that they just flat out catch fish. I see where you guys are coming from...but the bait didn't tie itself onto the line and it sure didn't cast itself out on every outing. That's all in the anglers hands.
  20. I'm so guilty my swimbaits have dust on 'em. :'( Actually...most of my other baits have dust on 'em because of Senkos. I've been using almost nothing but senkos for the last 4-5 weeks.
  21. That's right!! And don't hate just because we treat our bass so nice.
  22. BAM
