  1. The Senko is the only stick bait I currently throw. Tried a few others but none catch fish, for me, as consistantly as the GYCB Senko does. Fish Chris...I hope to one day have the same mindset you have. Big bass only!! 8-) That first 10 will probably do it. Gotta keep those hooks on the hudd sharp!
  2. Yes...the ambush strike on the spinnerbait at around 2:30 is great. Straight at the camera! And the duckling clip... fivebasslimit, I hear ya! It's crazy how they could just spit out a bait with 2 treble hooks without getting hooked!
  3. This may have been posted already. But in case it hasn't I thought everyone would enjoy this. It's very well made. I love what happens at 1:39 into the video. Bass are awesome predators!
  4. For Largemouth...I'm just fine right here. I have a nice little lake about 30 minutes from me that is known to hold 15+ pound Largemouth so why would I go anywhere else? Except maybe to take a drive up to Northern California. But I too would love to fish for Peacocks and other exotic species in South America. Someday...
  5. Well...the biggest bass we know of lives in Lake Dixon, CA.
  6. Yeah...noisy topwater/big cranks!
  7. I agree with George Welcome, KU_Bassmaster, and PA Angler. Sunglasses are far more than just a fishing tool. You will end up using them for more than just fishing. Get the best you can afford. Don't skimp on sunglasses. Shop around for deals but do get a quality pair.
  8. Good stuff. Great article. Keep it up!
  9. Late September, 2005, 5:30am, I tied on a buzzbait and ran it past some reeds. Right after the bait went past the reeds, BAM! A solid 4 pounder that hit like a freight train! I was hooked that instant. Too bad I didn't have my camera. :'(
  10. My buddy caught a solid 4 pounder right next to where I caught a 11 pound carp last week. Both fish were caught within 15 minutes of each other. I think a 3 pound bass would scare a 30 pound carp. Carp are sissies but they sure fight good.
  11. Still searchin'! Fish Chris, thank's for the motivational post.
  12. There are so many to choose from I will just pick one. That would probably be Fish Chris. It would be cool to take a road trip across the country just to fish in different states with a bunch of different people (BassResource.com members). An excuse to fish and meet new people...sounds like a plan to me. 8-)
  13. Anywhere from 1 hour to 10 hours. It all depends on how much time I have. My last 3 outings went like this, Last night: 6 hours (8pm-2am) Night before: 3 hours (9:30pm-12:30am) Sunday morning: 8 hours (2am-10am)
  14. Castaic is my home lake. I love it although it can humble me quite often. It is my favorite lake to fish.
  15. Brown/Red Right now they are more red while during the Fall to early Winter months they are dark brown. Almost black. At one pond I've seen some that were dark green.
  16. Nice! I like the frame also!
  17. Castaic is a little more than 30 miles from my house. It usually takes me 30-40 minutes. With no traffic a one way trip is about 20 minutes. The closest body of water I can fish is about 8 miles from my house.
  18. It's not that smaller baits don't catch bigger bass. It's that bigger baits don't catch as many smaller bass. If I was out for just one big bass...I would throw a swimbait of course.
  19. Shouldn't that zero been a five there capt. Nope. 8-14 is "big". 15+ is huge. 20+ is a monster and not the norm for most of the year. Yes...I know I'm getting technical. I might change my view after a few more years of fishing.
  20. 25.1 happened because of C&R.
  21. Florida or Texas. Why?? BIG FISH!!
  22. Or...live bait. You did say BAIT this time and not LURE.
  23. ;D I've recently developed that problem. I seem to be getting better and better at it too.
  24. Russ, I just sent you (PM) my pic. Let me know if you need anything else.
