  1. WOW!! That is another big bass! Thanks for sharing once again. One thing I've noticed is a lot of these bass are just over 13 pounds. Makes me wonder how many were just under. That must be heartbreaking if you catch a 12-15! Have any been rejected because the angler weighed the fish at 13+ but the fish actually weighed under 13 on an official scale? Just curious how something like that would work.
  2. I too have noticed Bill Dance mishandle bass. It's pretty bad if you ask me. >
  3. Everything works at the right time. I usually go with brown, red, purple, orange, black, grey or any combination of those colors. Anything with purple in it has done well for me. Senko's and jigs are my go to baits.
  4. I fish mostly from the bank, especially during the winter months. I too wish it was discussed more.
  5. I'd still buy one. Maybe not 2. That would depend on colors and designs. As good as silk screens can be done, they still fade over time. Embroidery is always better, if done right, IMO.
  6. :o Are you sure there is no trout stocking program in Texas?? If not there should be because those suckers could challenge the WR, IMO. Bass food dude...all you guys need is a little high protein bass food. ;D Thanks for sharing. I'm in awe...
  7. Great observation!! 8-)
  8. I blame everything if I'm not catching. But once I've tried a little of everything I just blame the fish.
  9. :o Yes...seductive... the monkey is very sedutive!! ;D
  10. Big bluegill huh? Every try chucking a swimbait in there? Try Mattlures bluegill series. I'm sure the big fish can't resist one of those.
  11. I have come to realize that we are all bait monkeys...
  12. Cabin fever...what is that??? LOL...sorry, I couldn't resist!! ;D You know your a Southern Californian when you can fish all year long!! Sorry...Amen.
  13. Persistence & patience will payoff.

That sucks! I hope you feel better soon Avid. Keep us posted...
  15. That sucks!! Let's hope for the best!!
  16. I'd order a few LBH shirts with California on them of course. I'd also be interested in the hat & I like the windbreaker idea.
  17. Let us know how that brody swordtail is.
  18. You'll have to experiment with the swimbaits. Most of my strikes have come on a slow retrieve. I've had strikes by deadsticking baits in bad weather (cold fronts &/or high wind). The best, by far, is a slow-medium retrieve past ambush points. Which swimbaits will you be throwing?
  19. :o WOW...that is nice big bass!! Thanks for sharing Matt_Fly. 8-)
  20. LBH, awesome vids!! Makes me want to go catch some bass!! I love the Northeastern accents you guys have too. Man it looks cold over there.
  21. My girlfriend and I send your family our condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
  22. He might fish private lakes but most of those fish came from public lakes. Cuyamaca, Dixon, Hodges, Murray & Sutherland are all public. The only one I'm not sure of is Mission Viejo. That sounds like a private lake. Matt probably knows. Even then I only counted 2 on the list that came from Mission Viejo. You can look at it anyway you want. The guy is a beast when it comes to catching hawgs!! His son tears is up also.
  23. On the contrary, Castaic fell off the map in spite of the striped bass introduction. Competition from striped bass would only help to reduce numbers, which can only improve the size (numbers and size are counterproductive). The real reason is the exact same reason that every other California angel fell from grace. Whenever a species is relocated outside its natural range, the genetic vigor wanes over time. As one lake falls from grace another lake becomes the new hope. If a world record isn't broken early-on using transplants, it becomes increasingly unlikely. You can't fool Mother Nature. That is why Miramar fell off the radar screen followed by Casitas, followed by Castaic. Be patient...it's only a matter of time when Dixon and Hodges fall off the radar screen. In fact, California is marking time right now, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if California fails to achieve its mission (A miss is a mile). Roger That may very well be the case but it's something we will never know about Castaic. The lake hit it's peak and coincidently stripers were introduced. Maybe that was mother natures way of saying..."NO, NO, NO....this record wont be broken here." We will never know for sure about Castaic because of the way it went down. I firmly believe that stripers out competing largemouth for food will not help largemouth in any body of water.
  24. I'm going to start calling it the US World Record. I could care less about Mexico and Communist Cuba. Anything outside of the US should not count. I get sick and tired of other countries getting involved in anything of ours. That goes for Baseball, Football, Bassmaster Tournaments. If you don't live in the US, you should not be able to compete in the US in anything. The US will sell out anything. Even our ports. USA only!!!! LOL...Then it wouldn't be a world record.
