  1. “If there’s a Rock N’ Roll Heaven I bet they have a hell of a band” Mike
  2. Other than the smell, Don’t let it discourage you from fishing it. During the first bloom on Okeechobee we had a Bass Nations tournament and bag limits were hardly affected. If there is any clean water around I’d start there. Use brighter colors with some vibration. Wash your equipment well when you’re done and don’t eat the fish. There are fish to be caught under it. Mike
  3. Right handed. Lip, scoop or net with my right from the right side of the boat as the rod is always in my left after the cast. I switch hands from the left of the boat and do the same Mike
  4. Bad, Bad year almost all over, and for some folks it couldn’t get any worse. Stay Safe Mike
  5. Ditto Been doing that way for so long I don’t even think about it. Mike
  6. There is no “right” way. Suggested? Sure, but one can only suggest what they know. Nobody starts out knowing how to do anything, it’s trial and error and taking from another to tweak our natural effort while trying to overcome any physical limitation. Mike
  7. Good, I’m glad I hope other members faired as well Mike
  8. That’s crazy Kinda makes you go Mmmm Mike
  9. ? I hope everything is good Mike
  10. The only thing I must have with me is my punch rod. Regardless if I’m told the waters I plan to fish has grass or not It just keeps me warm and fuzzy. Mike
  11. Yep, one of the most overlooked hook setting techniques. We read about it all the time on here. Suggested causes always range from hooks not being sharp enough, to line has too much or too little stretch, to questions about the action of the rod fir the technique being used. I remember a while back there was a thread about someone questioning why he couldn’t stay hooked up and someone mentioned this very thing and the OP seemed like he was insulted. Mike
  12. Whew! Its a good thing you had boxers on underneath! It could have grabbed something you don’t want it to grab!! I think it probably came out of a shirt or pant pocket you put it in and came out in the washer or dryer cycle and found your shirt. Anyway, you’re a lucky man ? Mike
  13. I hardly ever do any deep cranking, if I did it would probably be high on the list. For me tho it’s working a big top water like large spooks, and big jerks like a Bomber A Mike

  16. Depends how you define it. I can pitch and flip to a target with the best of em. Skipping is pretty good if the conditions are right. Long distance bomb casts to a specific spot are a different story. Like throwing a hand grenade. Mike
  17. Anacondas, Ol Monster and Jelly Worms are the 3 most popular and have been for years. I rig with a 5/0 and a 1/4 oz weight most of the time. Mike
  18. If that’s the only place and time you will be fishing, and your results never change year round no matter what, then of course you don’t need any more. But I’d keep a good inventory anyway Mike
  19. Don’t know the knot, never heard of it. Regardless, any knot you don’t tie correctly, whichever way it’s tied will fail. So to answer your question… “will one fail because it is tied incorrectly?”…..Yes Mike
  20. With all the private golf courses in Florida that never get fished, it wouldn’t surprise me at all that a new state record is swimming around in one of them. Mike
  21. I thought about that where my Ma and Dad are resting, but I just couldn’t do it. Nothing to do with my morals, just couldn’t do it. But that’s me Mike
  22. Depends on what looks good that might hold fish where we stop. Then based on weather, depth, clarity and cover I’ll decide. Most of the time tho it’s usually something on top. Every outing is different Mike
  23. The one I’ve had the most success with, and what I got my PB on was a red shad Fat Max. Mike
