Light lures
I don’t use spinning gear for anything. When the need arises, the lightest I throw is a weightless stick bait with a 1/32. I use a Loomis MBR 843c and it works just fine. Mike

Punch Rig Question
Next to sight fishing beds, Punching is my absolute favorite way to fish. I snell for all bottom contact presentations and have for over 30 yrs especially punching through mats of hydrilla, hyacinth or whatever. I do it regardless of the line..from 20lb flouro to 80lb braid. I’ll snug a bobber stop with no gaps. Personally when punching through a 2 ft thick mat I don’t want any movement of the rig as it goes through. I want it all to stay as one until it hits bottom, especially when using a skirt. When punching normally I’ll use 1 for 3/4 to 1 oz weights and 2 up to 2 oz. but the thickness and density of what I’m trying to get through will decide. I played around using a faceted glass bead a while back but didn’t really see a difference in the hook up ratio. Mike

What are you giving up on?
It’s just my preference because I’ve had much more success on the waters I fish the most...(Okeechobee, Stick Marsh and the St Johns River) using other presentations. None of them are what I would classify as the clear deep lakes you reference. Do they work? Sure, you’re proof of that, but I just don’t fish those type of lakes. However, I agree lakes in the Kissimmee or Harris Chain where there are deeper areas, a light line finesse set up can be a good option at times in certain areas. I look for and prefer shallow, stained, grassy areas in all stages of growth. (the heavier the better) Shell beds, humps or small depressions are a close 2nd. A wacky, ned or shaky type presentation are the least productive for me given the way I like to fish. I’d much rather get up close and personal with a mid range to heavy flouro or braid setup and go to work. But that’s just me. Mike

When we all remember that statement on the water, we’ll all be the better for it. Mike

Central Florida lake levels
Great Info! I spend so much time on Big O I kinda got outta touch with the chain. Mike

What are you giving up on?
Not that I’m giving up on them, I just have no interest and have no need to throw any of that light finesse stuff....Ned, Wacky, Shaky, Drop shot etc. Mike

Attaching Liners To Utility Box Lids
I use them on Plano 3600 and 3700 size boxes and use just plain ol super glue with no smell issues. Mike

BPT / MLF Format Rules Needs To Change !!
Agree... When they start talking about how they’re using what, I may start watching again. Understand, I’m not talking about a tutorial about every change, just saying what they’re using would be enough. I can figure out the why myself by looking at the water and conditions myself in the shot they give. Sometimes I’ll catch a glimpse of what they’re using when they flip one in or when they remove it. Also, a small snippet once in a while of the cast and how they work something back with a fish or not would be nice. Of course I’m assuming they want to increase viewer ship to increase ratings and sponsorship’s. Now It’s just boring as heck to watch. Mike
