What was you're best lure and set up last year?
That’s what I got my PB on! Fat Max is always 1b for me no matter where. As always a Zoom Magnum UV Speed Worm. This year a 10.2 using a MH/F Ark rod Mike

Road To The Superbowl 2024
Perception from the outside looking in… The absolute indictment of a head coach is if he loses the locker room, that’s exactly what happened when his players just gave up and quit in a playoff game at that. I don’t care what they do, I have enough to worry about what my Bears future holds, than comment on another teams playing style. But you don’t play the way they did for as long as they did without the coach being held accountable. In some cities that would be enough to be fired regardless of past successes. It wouldn’t be anything new. Mike

Where did the old timers go?
Priorities change and evolve Every possibility that’s stated above plus a few more. There isn’t one underlying factor other than sometimes Life gets in the way. I just enjoy the folks that remain Mike

He doesn’t fall under the Rooney Rule because in essence he was promoted and no one was interviewed Mike

Road To The Superbowl 2024
He was the plan all along. Very unusual that he had it put in the last contract he signed that he would be the next coach whenever Belichick left. Mike

How about them LIONS!
Hey Mark!! I thought about you last night. It was a long time comin and well deserved. I just wish that “ team from Wisconsin” would have lost and I’d feel even better. Give the Bears another year of good drafting and we’ll be in a dog fight with you guys for years. 😜 Mike

Help Needed: How do I Catch Florida Bass in the Winter?
There are many salt water charter Captains around here but no exclusive Bass guides locally that I’m aware of. Most of the bass fishing are in the local canals, Shell Creek, 9 mile (coco plum waterway). If you want a bass specific one you need to fish our lakes where there are dozens. Mike

Headwaters question
A friend who’s on that lake almost everyday has been known to get there between 3&4 from Thursday to Sunday (he’s not alone) and takes a nap until safe light which is about 7:00 down here this time of year. Early and mid week isn’t too bad as @SC53 mentioned. If you go to the Stick be aware of the depth if you plan on running a lot. There are stumps mid lake. Blue Cypress and Kenansville aren’t too far away if you want peace Mike

Centrifugal braking system
I don’t want to derail the OP’s intent of this thread, but I really see no advantage at all to having magnetic braking only. Yeah it does what it’s intended only if you make the perfect distance cast hitting the exact spot you want. If there is any deviation during flight and/or your motion, you’re gonna use your thumb anyway but only to correct distance. I would rather have control of the entire casting sequence in my hand. But Thats just me Mike

Centrifugal braking system
Ditto I won’t own a magnetic only braking reel. I guess you can say a dual system is the best of both worlds, but a centrifugal only system is the minimum. There is no advantage to using Magnetic of any kind as it’s designed to help at the end of cast, but that’s what a properly trained thumb is for as it gives the control directly to me. Not only in braking but in greater accuracy of the distance and placement of whatever I’m throwing Mike

Milikin on Private Equity
I was in the concrete industry for 33 yrs. During that time I went through 3 corporate buy outs after being originally hired by a family owned one. Each time salary and benefits went up while hourly drivers, QC, credit and maintenance personnel’s benefits either stayed the same or was restructured. When I lived up there, the biggest ones were Praire and Ozinga and now I understand Vulcan which I’m sure are union shops where down here we weren’t. That was the biggest difference for the rank and file. Point is, each buyout was met with anger, frustration and anxiety. A lot of employees threatened to leave but in the end it didn’t matter. The owners really didn’t care, they knew thier business would go on with or without them. Mike

Milikin on Private Equity
If someone is selling what I want/need at a price I’m willing to buy, I could care less who owns what. PE firms or any entities business model only works if the public wants what they’re selling. Why should I care how they get there? Innovation and R&D takes cash, and lots of it. Without it there wouldn’t be any small businesses Mike

Lures You Used Less this Year
I almost never throw any finesse type baits that almost all on here use. Hardly ever use light line spinning gear for anything. Mike

20lb test/Heavy rod uses
I use 20# Shooter for flippin/pitchin in moderate to heavy cover exclusively. The guys above pretty much covered your other choices Mike
