SpaceX 7-18 Starlink launch from Vandenberg CA
One of the advantages of living in Florida is that it doesn’t take long to go to the Cape and see one up close. It takes your breath away. I live about 200 miles from there and on a clear night we can stand on our driveway and see the rockets and contrails when it reaches a certain point. My son lives about 20 mile south on a barrier island and after awhile he can hear it standing on his pool deck. When a Falcon Heavy or a Saturn V takes off, my granddaughter swears she can “feel” the pressure wave in her chest! We never have but she swears she can. Mike

Road To The Superbowl 2025
They know. The only caveat is if who they’re zeroed in at 9 is gone. If that happens they will trade back to get the 2 that was used on Sweat. Poles loves his draft picks and 4 really isn’t enough but I’d be ok with taking an immediate starter at the X (Odunze) or right DE (Turner) Its gonna be fun this year! Mike

Bass Spawn/Biology Timeline
You’re asking questions that can’t be answered definitely. Girls will decide what she wants to do when and where she wants to do it. There are no rules just assumptions but nobody is that good to make an accurate prediction every time. I probably spend more time sight fishing beds than most on here and have never camped out trying to wait out an individual to just show up. You’re better off making a milk run around your pond Mike

Source for Fluorocarbon
I only use Sunline flouro. When I get low I’ll just check my local tackle stores first, If none have what I need I buy direct. I’m sure a Walmart may have some a little cheaper but fishing line is the one thing I have no problem paying a little more for. Mike

Fish the bank or site fish specific beds…what do you prefer?
Sight fishing beds is my #1 preference every time! There are certain things to look for to be effective but barring that, the most in my waters are located more off the bank than on, especially in stained water Mike

For those asking about the best colors to use for a bait
Thats the biggest trap that most fishermen fall into. Thats why they have bags of plastics that haven’t been touched because some guy did well somewhere so it’s gotta work everywhere for everyone. It don’t work that way. I’ve said before… To me it’s the first and only rule… Learn your waters first, only then give em what they want, when, where and how they want it. Mike

Hank Parker's Controversial Take on FFF!!
Yes it does! it took me back a little when said it and the thing is he was dead serious. It just shows the changing mind set now. He really felt we would be at a disadvantage that we would have to use our minds, intuition, experience and the ability to make smart choices.., All the things we’ve been doing since our beginnings. In my opinion it’s sad that it’s come down to questioning our basic abilities to compete to catch a fish without having a crutch. Mike

Hank Parker's Controversial Take on FFF!!
I got a call from a friend who asked me to fish a team tournament with him next month as his regular partner backed out. One of the first things he said to me was that he didn’t have FFS. It was like he was apologizing and asked “if that would make a difference” to me if I fished or not. Mike

Out in the lake or off the bank
For quick getaways it’s obvious that walking a bank is the most convenient, which is the only advantage. During certain times of the year, depending on where you live a pb can be had but opportunities are limited. In a boat you’d be able to hit the same spot, targeting the same fish with the opportunity to fish 360 deg. Even with the overall limiting opportunities between the 2, connivence and necessity will at times win out. Mike

Cutting point hooks
I’ve used Trokar hooks exclusively except for 1 presentation for years and have no reason to change. I haven’t experienced an inordinate amount of larger than normal mouth wounds compared to other style hooks that some see. Mike

Clermont Florida Fishing
Clermont is ok, fished it a few times. I agree that Harris would be better choice with Kissimmee an even better one. But you being 2 yrs out nothing we say now will matter anyway Mike

Jig fishin, when to switch?
That’s fishing! That can be said about every lure regardless of what it is and where and how you’re throwing it. Certainty not exclusive to the jig I do the same sometimes when things get tough. Questioning everything, trying everything and still nothing works. When that happens the best thing I’ve learned is to go back to my confidence baits based on experience in the same conditions and keep moving. Instead of thinking I’m not throwing what they want and I can’t figure them out, it can be as simple as starting over from the beginning and keeping it simple. Mike

Drop, Ned, Wacky and Shakey Never think about throwing them…Ever There’s always a better choice. Mike

What is your fishing Dogma?
Be ready to…. Improvise, Overcome and Adapt to changes in everything you do and see. The thought process you make to decide what combo and line choices you make as conditions change to throw the lure you decided to throw. The subtle nuances of working a particular lure in a certain spot. The decision to set the hook or not Reeling the fish in Landing Handle and then release a healthy fish Mike

Do you switch hands when you cast a baitcaster?
Being right handed I Cast right, switch, reel right. I tried casting right and reeling left but felt totally unnatural and just plain wrong. The switch is done in flight without thinking about it so when the lure hits water I’m ready immediately. I don’t use spinning gear at all, but the combos I have for the kids all are setup to reel left. Now that said, when pitching the first is done right handed but all subsequent ones are left as the rod never leaves my hand. Mike

How big y’all think?
Looks like she’s full…All of 5+ Hopefully you released her to finish up, at which point maybe 4 1/2 Mike

When should I be using fluoro?
I use flouro for everything except for 2 presentations which I use braid and it never let down. I’ve tried different lines over the years and settled on Sunline Sniper and Shooter depending what I throw where. I don’t use leaders Mike
