  2. Oh Man! So sorry to hear this. I will say another prayer for her now. Stay Strong Mike
  3. This thread reminds me of a saying I read somewhere…. ”One man with conviction will overwhelm a hundred who have only opinions” If you’ve never competed at the highest level, you’ll never fully understand what it takes to succeed at that level. The End Mike
  4. Prayers sent for you all. All you can do is what you can do and lean on those who really care. We’re here Mike
  5. 14#-20# Flouro only, never mono Mike
  6. Exactly The definition of a professional is one who gets paid to do a certain activity or job. A master carpenter isn’t better than you because he uses a better hammer. A journeyman electrician isn’t better than you because he knows which wire is the ground. Are certain carpenters and electricians better than others, of course there are. They’re better because…. ”They also probably work a lot harder and longer at their job fishing than you do at your hobby of fishing” However, there is NO probably about it. Mike
  7. Anyone signing up to Marshall this year?? Mike
  8. It happens from time to time. There’s so much knowledge and passion on here it doesn’t take much. ? Mike
  9. Advocate to have returning boats cross a specific point at which time they will be considered “checked in” Then proceed to weigh-in in a first in basis or by boat number with the fish remaining in the live well until it’s their time. It’s easier on the fish and traffic flow. A 20 boat field is rather small so there shouldn’t be any problems. If none of that works @Dwight Hottle has your only option. Mike
  10. Time is a resource and it should be treated as such. You only have so much if it. Set priorities and do what you have to do, what you want to do will come..In time Mike
  11. I’ve been tempted a few times to pick one up but never did. Those platinum reels are excellent also! Mike
  12. Which is fairly surprising down here. I’d bet it has a lot to do with the different waters and of course seasons. My biggest fish on The Lake are mostly caught before 10:00, at least in the 3-5 areas I rotate through the most, which are all different at different times of the year. Seems the farther North I go (Stick, St Johns River, Kissimmee Chain, especially Toho) late morning to early afternoon is the sweet spot. Mike
  13. No leaders… Ever Mike
  14. Yeah And I’ll only play the lottery when I know I’m gonna win! And Only eat when I know it won’t make me fat! Mike
  15. Down here I’d hit the edges of a hard reed line out to about 3-5 ft, starting with a frog, weightless stick bait and then a Speed Worm. If there is scattered grasses or pads, I’d still start at the edges working my way in as far as I can cast at obvious changes. Speed Worm first for just a little bit, then farther inside with the frog then the stick worm or creature plastic. All the while moving along until the first strike then hit it hard. As the day went on and the sun gets higher, everything gets put away and punch till I can’t punch any longer. Mike
  16. I’ve been using Rage products since 2010 and can honestly say I’ve never had a problem with their quality control Mike
  17. The only thing left in my fishing bucket is to catch my first smallmouth Other than that, just be around long enough to keep finding things to fill it back up. Mike

  19. Don’t feel bad. If that was your first time or even your 2nd or 3rd…. you’re a lot better than you think! ? Mike
  20. Walk most any top water in place. Learn to do that consistently with a frog and a whole new world opens up. Mike
