  1. Revo Sx $120 Ike Rod $150 Speed spool (What Model) $120 give or take Mach rod $80 All of it brand new is $470. just to show you price breakdown. Definitely pass for that price.
  2. First Sunday in August I fished a tournament. I never weighed in a fish. I had 4 keepers hooked all on drop shot and lost all of them. The next weekend I took my wife out she caught about 9 all weighing 2# or more. I again skunked having hooked up with what looked to be around a 4#er got her to the boat went to grab her, her last shake threw the hook this time on a shakey head. Then this past Saturday I went pond hopping and AGAIN had 3 fish hooked up and they threw the hook this time one was a Carolina rig the other two were on a wacky rig. Am I the only one that has been in this position? I am setting the hook like I always have but for some reason the fishing gods do not like me right now.
  3. My recipe is: 1 cup plastic 1/2 cup of salt I don't use softener because I use Baitjunkys soft degassed plastisol that is already extremely soft. Gary also add sand blasting media (Silica) to his baits along with salt and he also uses Table salt ground down.
  4. In Ohio all Walleye must be hooked in the mouth and all others cannot be foul hooked while sight fishing.
  5. That's a good catch where I'm from as long as you weren't sight fishing.
  6. I use Lurecraft as well just not the Silicon ones, I use the aluminum. Open pour are roughly $10 mores but last longer and you also have the option of buying a two piece open pour to make completely round baits.
  7. I think it is harder for back seaters to overcome tough seasons than boaters. When I fish as a boater and have a bad day I usually do what everyone else says and go back to what I best at which is power fishing cranks, spinnebaits just covering as much water as I can. But I find that when I'm a back seater I always get put with a boater who wants to flip docks or drop shot all day. When I have a rough day I can't get back out there and correct it because I have the potential of pairing up with another finesse boater and my rough days continue (My season this year). As a boater I would say (even during the event) stop for a minute and think of how you are best at catching, even if the conditions don't call for that technique you can still be productive fishing your confidence.
  8. 6'6" Medium Moderate Fast.
  9. Going off of both replies I normally see a light hookup with just the rear hook if I'm fishing too fast, gut hooked if I fish too fast and just a front hook if they bait is running under them.
  10. he went somewhere in North Carolina as well with his kids and was catching monster bluegill and bass. I just cant remember where it was. The Kings Fisher Society on Richmond Mill Lake is where I believe it was.
  11. I have a soft plastic order from TW arriving tomorrow, I have over 100 spinnerbaits already, 7 1500 yrd spools of line, and I just placed an order with Academy for their store brand Cranks and Swimbaits. I have a feeling a Siebert order is probably be placed by the end of the week
  12. The bait monkey is getting really strong and I think it is time to buy some more tackle. I have it narrowed down to either Jigs or Shallow Crankbaits. I currently have about 40 jigs in all shapes, sizes and colors and 25 square bill cranks in various size and color. Which would you stock up on? I am partial to throwing cranks this time of year and into the fall and back to jigs in the winter.
  13. I am a firm believer that you can learn more from how the hook was set than any other thing. However I went fishing with the wife over the weekend and her hooksets with a crankbait left me a little confused with what the fish or the angler was doing. We were fishing 4' of water with a Luck E Strike RC Squarebill bill she told me that she was dragging the bottom and would feel deflections (scattered rock) and as soon and it would deflect she would get bit. Every fish was caught on the front treble hook. She caught a couple dinks that had to treble in the top of the mouth and the third in the bottom looking their mouth shut. The bigger one 2-3 lbs were all hooked by two trebles in the roof. Usually when I catch fish like this they are coming from underneath the bait but that cant happen when dragging the bottom. Anyone have an opinion on where the fish were striking from or how the bait was moving?
  14. That's kind of what I assumed as well.
  15. I don't know if its the case for ever location but I have a Cabelas and Bass Pro both 30 minutes away from me and was told that BPS is converting Cabelas into a hunting specific store and Bass Pro in a Fish specific store. Both will have camping, hiking, clothing, but the fish selection at Cabelas will be extremely minute that same for Bass Pro with hunting.
  16. When Jacob Eason decomitted to Georgia and almost flipped to Florida Franks was ready to transfer. I really think he will be gone if Zaire starts all season and Coach Mac makes frank compete for the next starting job. Franks should be the backup and Morningwig and Del Rio that screwed us last year needs to sit and coach the younger guys coming up.
  17. Franks red shirted last year. I think he is going to transfer with Zaire starting this season and next season competing with Jake Allen and Kadarious Toney he will likely get beaten out again. Toney played better than any QB in the Spring Game and I'm expecting great things from Toney next season.
  18. Die Hard Gator Fan and I think Ziare will be the one to get the call to start and his experience will help us.
  19. 1 Bama (Beats FSU and runs the table) 2 Ohio State (Runs the BIG10) 3 USC (Loses 1 Stanford or Texas) 4 (Sleeper Pick) Florida (Upsets Michigan, FSU, LSU. loses the SEC Champ Game but gets in on resume)
  20. Keitech has slowly consumed all of my plastic inventory whether Swing Impacts, Crazy Flapper and Easy Shaker to name my top baits. But I agree with you I catch more on Keitech than any other plastic bait.
  21. Does that go for the Cabelas "Mean Eye" Squarebill as well?
  22. Looking for new Squarebill Crankbaits and I am interested in either the Bass Pro Shop XPS Square Bill or The Academt H20 CRS Squarebill. Does anyone have any experience with these baits? And if so which one is the better crankbait?
  23. for me it isn't exactly baits but presentation I replaced. For about 3 years I always had a shakey head tied on and no other plastic baits other than Zoom Mag Shakey Worms. However the last 2 seasons I have not even put shakey head jigs in the boat with me. I couldn't even tell you why that is because it is my number 1 confidence bait.
  24. I live on the western basin of Erie. You have to weed out all the walleye but when you get to the smallies they are big on this side to. For me I would move to Panama City, FL That way you are in the middle to travel to the Big O, Kissimmee, St Johns River, Seminole Lake, Cherokee Lake, Pickwick, Guntersville, Lanier, Pontchartrain, George Walter Res. Plus all the partying that goes on in Panama. Living in Ohio I can tell you the absolute best smallmouth fishing on Erie is in Canada. Just cross the boarder to Pelee Island or up towards the Detroit river to Amherburg. For some reason the Canadians do not have the pressure that the American waters get. I fish BFL and club events on it and always run straight to Canada.
  25. From my experience I think largemouth are both isolated and will school. My fondest memory was about 7 years ago we had a mild winter and air temps in the 60 the last week of November, I was casting a lipless crankbait into a weedline just off of a ledge. I caught 30 bass ranging from 1# to 4# in 45 minutes. I was on shore and a boater seen me and came in and started fishing the same spot; both of us we hooking up on every cast. He put a camera in the water and seen that once we released the fish they would swim right back to the same spot they were in. after about an hour what looked like the biggest fish swam off and every fish followed. I didn't catch another fish the rest of the day. I have the video the boater sent me if I can find it I'll post it. To me that is a school of bass but majority of the time I can one or two in an isolated area.
