  1. Yes, I actually hit them harder with FC cause of the stretch. Never have had a snap or loss for that matter from FC knot failure. I use through eye twice 6 turn uni knot.
  2. When you find S8S on sale its tough to beat IMO. Strength, casting, lack of noise, smoothness and on sale= winner. Smackdown not as strong(30#SD vs 20# S8S) not as quiet and costs more. 832 not as quiet even more noticeable not as smooth & 20# vs 20# S8S a bit stronger

  4. If you wait may be able to get 20% off during BF sales
  5. Lars doesnt want to hear it.
  6. Close But my level wind became very loose and the line would not lay on the spool correctly
  7. My BB1Pro lasted all about 3-4 hours, the first outing, and it started having issues then proceeded to get worse. Its been returned. My shimano reel I bought at the same time as the BB1Pro(spring2014) has been trouble free.
  8. Vicodin is your friend, well mine at least.
  9. AWESOME A-JAY I think your weight is wrong you have to turn your scale upside down to get the correct weight.
  10. I was out yesterday with 1/2oz bucktail jig and got this smallie. Throw out into the turbulent water and when it got to calmer water bam got hit. I was targeting Pike, at first, retrieving rather quickly, but not suceessful so slowed down started dragging the bottom when caught SM
  11. Keitech Swing Impact/Fat
  12. Keitech changed the MSRP on their Swing Impact Fats; example3.8" from $7.49 to $5.99 a pack back in July but many places still charging $7.49
  13. I oil all my cent brake drums no matter the brand about monthly they cast much better that way.
  14. Same experience i had with mine. It would cast extremely well though just very grindy. Returned it bought a Core50.
  15. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/134171-chronarch-ci4-vs-lews-bb1-pro/?p=1528223 See above post--I had a BB1 Pro that the brakes made a screeching sound and read of others having the same issue. I oiled the brake drum but also had other issues that caused me to return the reel. I only oil my CI4 drum when the distance starts getting less and the braking is getting more pronounced it doesnt actually screech at all. And if I did have to oil every outing I would complain about it but it just isnt the case far from it.
  16. Well doing some rough figuring with my Core50 spool. One rotation of the spool lets out 3.9" of line- Lure travels 100' in 3 seconds- 100' / 3.9" = 307 rotations- 307 rotaions in 3 seconds- 6140rpm now once the line gets out toward 100' the spool will get smaller so one may think the spool will spin faster but the lure will be slowing down as well so the spool speed wont go faster it sort of levels off. Maybe that first 10' with the lure going faster (muzzel velocity if you will) than at the end of the cast it goes 10' in .25 seconds 10' / 3.9" = 30.76 rotations- 30.76 rotations in .25sec- 7382rpm How about a hard cast and 10' in .1 seconds = 18,456rpm most "cheap" bearings can handle that speed oiled properly. I checked Fastenal and their $1.50 bearings rate to 67,000rpm.
  17. bout sums it up my 8# nanofil held more weight than 15#kanzen
  18. When you see great deals on lures you want pounce on them to save money. Saw my favorite lures on sale for $1.99 a pack (regularly $6 or so) I bought their limit a couple times for over 100 packs.
  19. Adding color to some baits is easy mod. Here I dipped a Damiki Hydra in some JJ Magic that skirt really pops on sunny days in the clear water I fish.
  20. I like variety. If any brand has what Im looking for in that product I'll try it. Ive bought 9 different brands of rods/reels and 6 lines the past 2 years.
  21. No log book, I buy Shimano, maintenance not necessary
  22. You notice that it is on sale for $200 @TW
