  1. My 6'8'' spinning and 7' spinning rods have 2500 size. Jeff
  2. Some have good reviews and some have bad. Just grab one up and measure a known weight to figure out how accurate it is. When you catch another hog, weigh it and then when you get home, weight a known weight to see how off it is. Gets you really close to the weight of your fish. Also, to be precise, you can get a boga grip and have it certified! They are expensive, but I love mine! Jeff
  3. Congrats on the hog! Get yourself a small digital scale. Never again will you have to guess at a weight! Jeff
  4. That is huge!!! I was just down there a month ago fishing! It is a sport fisherman's paradise! Jeff
  5. Wow! Mike that is really cool! Jeff
  6. ci4 has waterproof drag, and despite the opinions of some others on here, I still say is the best bang for your buck as far as a spinning reel goes! Lightweight and smooth as butter, I have the 2500 paired with a Pinnacle spinning rod and it is AWESOME!!!! whole setup weights 10.5 oz. Jeff
  7. As I figured, this one has already gone a little too far........ Jeff

  15. I think 7 is a bit over zealous. I would put it in the 5 lb range! Good bass no matter what though! Jeff
  16. Isn't it amazing what kind of chaos 1 horny man's indiscretions can cause? It is truly remarkable if you really think about how this season, these players, this university, this state, the SEC are going to be affected by one person and his inability to act with some decency. Jeff
  17. If I remember correctly SIR, you started singing right after I set the hook!!!! Jeff
  18. I make my own from scratch. The whole thing is to my liking. Just the way I like it! Jeff
  19. Anybody been lately? Might head out there this afternoon.... Jeff
  20. I let the fish tell me what they want. I start with a drag and then a double hop. Keep mixing it up till I find what they want. Jeff
  21. First of all, welcome to BR! Nice catching! I too am an avid Jig fisherman. LOVE em. If there are big fish up close to the bank, try tossing the jig on the bank and SLOWLY pulling it off into the water. Also, check out these videos. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/jig-heads.html https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/jig-fishing.html https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/jigs.html Jeff
  22. Where did you put in and fish. Crank/spinner ticking grass top. Worms, wacky, drop shot. Topwater early. More info and maybe I can help better. Also soft swimbaits. Jeff
  23. Glad I'm not the only one who sings about the lures he fishes. And also not the only one that can admit it! Jeff
  24. To wife: "I'll be back at dark:30" Which she knows means dark + the 30 min drive home Every hookset gets a " There she is" "Ahh, Hung again" "I thought for sure there'd be one in there" "Just like I expected" I frequently sing songs to the bass like," Here fishy fishy", or " Jig, Jig Jig, all day long...." Jeff
