Snaps on Hard Baits?
I use snaps on most of my hard baits and remove the split ring before snapping it on. Key is to not get lazy and keep retying when changing baits. The snaps are so tiny they do not effect the baits action but plenty strong that they don't fail.

When I worked in the fishing department at Cabela's, one of the guys we worked with went fishing with my buddy that also worked there and kept getting bit on a store brand spinnerbait he bought off the spinnerbait tree that sat by the reel bar. My buddy said he had probably missed a dozen fish before finally looking at the bait, still had the plastic protector on it ?♂️

Same, I use Eagle Claw on everything I can find them for. I am experimenting with some Victory hooks just to try them and so far so good.

Dobyns Fury 795SB for Muskie?
It would be a decent rod for most bucktails. Going to be underpowered for much else though.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone
Went to by BIL's house with the family and ate way too much before I came home to sleep for a couple hours so I could get a little rest for work.

I found 47 or 48 in a day once last year. My best day was over 100 baits from a heavily pressured lake I use to fish a lot. That was back when I had my 2 man and the whole bottom of it was covered with baits. I got checked by the park ranger that day and he was dumbfounded that I'd pulled that many baits from the lake. I fill shopping bags full of bobbers and donate them to kids fishing derbies also.

I've done the same thing in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas also. Table Rock, LOZ, and a couple small lakes in OK have been great for bait hunting and they produce really good baits because so many avid bass fishermen spend so much time on them.

Not this time but I've found several pre rap warts. There is 2 different gens of warts in there though.

State Record Muskie - MN
Great fish. I'm sure nobody feels worse about the fish not making it than the guy who caught it. A lot of bass guys could learn a lot from muskie fishermen on handling and releasing fish.

Do you consider kayak fishing to be exercising?
I pedal a few miles most days I'm on the water. I'd compare it to going for a long walk, not high impact exercising but exercising either way.

Thankful for the Wacky Rig

Had to get out after work this morning. Windy and in the low 50's when I walked out the door at work a little after 6am. Went home to get the boat and got to the ramp right at 7. I was hoping to get into some wipers but for some reason they haven't shown up this year. The bass were willing though and I kept my eyes on the shoreline for baits as I went along. Caught between 15-20 bass, mostly on a Ned but a few on my homemade compact spinnerbait also. Biggest was a 4.09 on the Ned. Found some baits along the way also.

The latest sale thread
I pick them over any other jerkbait in my box a majority of the time. Just a few from this year.

Man, I'm lucky, because I was STUPID!!!!!
I doubt there's many people who can't say the same. I did some really dumb stuff that I'm not proud of. For sure didn't make it to 21 before trying alcohol, or 13 for that matter. Drove my trucks like they were unbreakable and so was I. I was pretty unbreakable until a couple close calls and losing people around me brought my mortality into question a little more. Ever play the game where you shoot an arrow into the air and try not to get hit by it when it comes down? That was something we did a lot for some reason. One of my buddies had the arrow stick right through his jeans but only scratched his leg a little. Why? Why did we think that was a good idea? My biggest flex is I made it this far without ever sampling any illicit drugs, not even weed. The person running the lie detector asked me about 10 different ways when I applied for my job because I guess that's just not a question people answer no to and pass. With having 2 boys, both of them that act like they're feral half the time, I'm sure they're going to put some grey hairs on my head before too long.

Punching/flipping combo
If you're punching heavy mats, I'd suggest getting a rod just for doing so. It's one of those techniques that really takes specialized equipment if you're going to do it often.

Best casting rod at the 150-180 price point?
You might be able to find a deal on them right now and score a St. Croix Victory in your price range? I've enjoyed fishing mine.

Sinking Jerkbaits That Float

Who makes a green pumpkin lipless?
Booyah has the ghost green craw that is a pretty solid green pumpkin color. The one on TW is pretty translucent but I've seen some that are really dark. https://discounttackle.com/products/booyah-one-knocker-lipless-crankbait?variant=12481675952183&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=&scid=scplpshopify_US_1383075577911_12481675952183&sc_intid=shopify_US_1383075577911_12481675952183&gclid=CjwKCAiAv_KMBhAzEiwAs-rX1A20KltHKHNy19aeoQZsrTh_iLRd6RKq5tJIdL5iln_8wFqpki0X8hoCphgQAvD_BwE
