  1. Fished my 112+1 Stunna today, it was very clearly sinking, and catching.
  2. I've done really well with a wacky rigged white stick worm or trick worm for post spawn smallies for some reason.
  3. This nice weather has to end eventually, but I'm sure enjoying it while I can. Getting out and catching fish from the kayak after work the last day of November is pretty sweet.
  4. Finding baits other people have lost
  5. Most of our lakes are 18" length limits but you can buy a bass pass to be able to keep 15" fish in tournaments. I'd rather see all bass tournaments go to CPR like kayak tournaments do. Stop pretending like they care about the fish they depend on and actually do something to show they do. I get so tired of seeing dead bass at the ramp the day after a tournament, or guys posing with dead fish for tournament pictures in the middle of a triple digit temp day in August. There was one last year from the power plant lake I fish, which gets water temps in the mid 90's in the summer. Guys had a low 20lb bag and every single one died but they were smiling for the camera in the picture, just sickening. Probably caught every one first thing in the morning and they rode around in that sauna all day, or the guys dumped a few bags of ice in that hot water and shocked them all out. Either way, have to like their odds a lot better if they'd have been tossed back after getting a picture taken instead of being hauled back to the ramp for a post mortem photo shoot.
  6. 3rd one over 7 I caught this year. It's the 7' 3" XF/H "Marshall" I believe they call it.
  7. I've never seen the lakes so packed as early spring of last year, the irony was thick. I still get the lakes to myself fairly often, but that will go away soon I'm afraid.
  8. Your baits, you can do what you want with them. Back before wake baits were readily available, it was common practice to use a lighter to heat up bills of standard floating minnows to point them almost straight down to create a homemade waking bait (similar to a Redfin but it was usually a Thunderstick that was used). Sometimes it completely ruined a brand new bait, but when it was right it was a killer bait in the Ozark lakes.
  9. I was commenting on how the quality of EC hooks has gone way up but I also buy my Eagle Claw EL3052's in bulk 500 packs for even less than their worm hooks for a comparable hook to the one the OP is looking for. Most of my 90* jig hooks are EC Lil' Nasty hooks that run about that much for a 1,000 pack though.
  10. I have not fished the Inspira but the Epixor is a very nice reel that has performed well for a couple years now. My oldest son caught his PB with it.
  11. Interested in the potential with these lines. The Basix could be a good option for techniques that people like fluoro for but still need to change line often from wear and tear (shallow cranking through rocks and timber).
  12. I've been using a spinning version of this rod for a few months now and and is an extremely nice rod. Priced well below what it's worth with the discount imo. Most of Okuma's products are priced below what they're worth though in my experience.
  13. Buy them in bulk and you can do much better. I buy my Lazer Sharp worm hooks in 500 packs for a little over $60 shipped.
  14. Mike's forgotten more about jerkbait fishing than most of us will ever know.
  15. That's crazy that it's that big of a difference from Iowa to NE KS. Water temps are still high 40's here and fish are very active.
  16. They look like and are commonly confused with carp. I just caught one Saturday when I accidentally snagged one in the dorsal fin.
  17. Both, but it helped me win a tournament a couple years ago with a 5 fish bag that was all smallmouth and accounted for the largest that was a crawdad shy of 5lbs, a massive smallmouth for Kansas.
  18. I thought the second boat was going down.
  19. Got drug around in my kayak for awhile Saturday. 8lb test on a ML spinning rod, snagged in the dorsal fin with a #5 shad rap. 24.21lbs.
  20. RES 2 tap 6th Sense Thud or Quake 70, Suspending Quake 80 Booyah One Knocker
  21. When my TW order gets here this week I'm going to tell my wife my account got hacked and someone ordered those baits and shipped them to me but I might as well keep them, you know, since they're already here. Getting a refund and shipping them back will be a hassle anyways.
  22. Moon Juice is one of my favorite SK plastic colors. A Moon Juice Menace or Bug on a swing head with the tips of the tails dipped in chartreuse JJ's is a killer combo.
  23. Went to a lake I never fish this late in the year with a couple guys from my kayak club on Saturday. It was not great. Pedaled about 5 miles and ended up catching 9 bass all by the ramp right before I left. They were not large. Caught a ton of drum and a couple big white bass. The highlight of the day was accidentally snagging this thing in the dorsal fin with a #5 shad rap on a ML spinning rod and 8lb test. Drug me around in the yak for about 10 minutes. It weighed 24.21lbs and was probably a little over 30" long.
