  1. Plopping bait number ???? out of a tree this morning. Also found a Lucky Craft squarebill, Fat Free Fingerling, Heddon Moss Boss, Wiggle Wart, and Strike King 2.5.
  2. The flat sides make it glide along when you move it. Fish it with a pretty light weight and it's actually a very active bait.
  3. I'd second the Baitsanity Antidote. I have one and it's a really nice bait for the money. I like it way better than I liked the 200 S Waver.
  4. Got out Friday at the power plant lake. It was too nice to be out there but the fishing was too good last week not to go back. Lots of fish this week, but the bigger bite dried up. Still caught a couple little bit bigger ones up to 4.5lbs. The same squarebill was getting hammered again. Saturday I went out for a couple hours at the local lake to see if any of the hybrids would bite before the sun got up high. First cast, 1 and done. After working the spot over for a hour with only 1 more bite from a big white bass, I tried for some largemouth. Water temps had dropped over 10 degrees since last week but I still caught a few. A custom painted wiggle wart KO was getting most of the attention.
  5. Wow, that's impressive.
  6. My wife was hinting to putting ours up the other day ?‍♂️
  7. Another vote for a jigging spoon, I like a War Eagle, either white or silver. A jigging Rap is a good one too.
  8. 6th Sense Provoke has been my go to jerkbait most of the year this year. They're not super cheap at $11, but way cheaper than a MB 110. The H20 Jerk shad is a great bait for the money if you want a really cheap bait. I keep several in my bank fishing box as well as in the boat for guide trips if the fish aren't being picky and I don't have to worry about someone breaking or loosing one of my more expensive baits.
  9. We don't have a lot of spots here, but it's fun to catch them. Always a welcome sight when I get a nice one, but a "big" spot here is 2lbs since our state record is only 4.44lbs.
  10. It should, it's a great bait. Anyone that smallmouth fishes, especially streams or rivers, should be using them. Largemouth eat bugs too though, and I've caught plenty of nice ones on them.
  11. I use different rods for all 3 but I wouldn't want to use the same rod for cranking as I do for spooks and jerkbaits.
  12. Gold/black, and Olive Shad have been my 2 go to colors lately. Not real crazy colors, but not the standards either.
  13. Was going to mention this bait also. I like them on a jighead. Very good little bait that nobody seems to talk about.
  14. Yeah the Shimmy Stick isn't so great. The flat sides on the Ocho give it a sweet flutter/wobble on the fall. Academy here has them on sale for 1-2 bucks a pack all the time. No telling how many packs I have at home but I buy the whole peg anytime I find them for $1. Can't ever have too many stick worms.
  15. It doesn't take much. You can get a pretty decent Ned rig setup for under $100. The man himself uses some of the cheapest gear you can find to use his namesake rig.
  16. It's a no feel technique, and a lot of bites are very subtle. A light spinning rod with braid would do you a lot of good if you're going to try to do it more. A whippy casting rod does not equal a good finesse rod.
  17. Well I thought I sent it but I sent it to @slonezp instead for some reason ?
  18. I know his November orders are full but he's taking orders for December. Kicking myself for not getting on the November list so hopefully I don't lose this one in the next couple months.
  19. It's not exactly flat sided but it's a small batch balsa crank by Black Canoe Lures. That's a beautiful little baby flathead.
  20. The little local lakes are still cranking but this week is really going to knock them back if we get the cold rain. The snow isn't a problem, but over an inch of cold rain is going to muddy the water and cool it way down. At least I had my fun while it lasted. Got a new lake PB this morning with a 5.53 and a new best 5 fish bag for the lake.
  21. I'm a junk fisherman, so I can't help but have a rod rigged for ever possible situation I might run into in a given day. Even if I think I'll only make a few cast with a rod, I'm probably going to get it out or bring it with me.
  22. I have a Frabill F3 suit I like really well, but it's a tent on me now that I lost so much weight. My BPS 100mph suit still fits pretty well, but the quality of those things is pretty bad for the money your spend. My cuffs are super glued together because the adhesive they use just wears out and they come apart so you can get a good seal around your wrist. The seams are coming unsewn in places and on the velcro in my pants pockets. This is the second suit it's happened to after I returned the first one for the same issues. I wear mine a lot, but it's the flagship suit and not cheap, it shouldn't have these issues. I would not buy another if I was doing it over again.
  23. I have the same Fury, I wouldn't throw the Mag Shine Glide with it. I use a Guide Select to fish mine.
