  1. I've done some remelting plastics myself because I try to recycle everything I can. It's a lot of work and some types of plastic just plain don't work for repours. I think a good alternative would be for the big bait companies to look into producing baits that slowly biodegrade. I know Gulp and a few others do, but a majority don't.
  2. It does bare a resemblance to the hairdo they're usually sporting when they first wake up.
  3. The Booyah has been a fish catcher for me just like the Xcalibur was. Makes me wish I'd sold all my XR50s and XRK50s back when they were selling for a bunch of money.
  4. The hair ball I get to clean out of my boat carpet once or twice a month thanks to my 2 furry fishing buddies.
  5. Welcome!

    Welcome!
  7. Cadman's post (second post on this thread) gives good instructions on how to clean your style pot out well. To help keep it from happening, make sure you're using good lead, that it's properly heated, and that you flux your lead to remove debris that can clog your pour spout.
  8. Looks good to me! Is the Phenix blade different than the coffin blades you can buy? Have you tried a powder paint gun for painting blades? That's how I do it and the trick is to not overheat them so you only get a very thin coat of paint. About 4-5 seconds is all it takes to heat a side up enough to get the paint to stick.
  9. Same here. Haven't been to both of the local stores but I stopped at one last week and it had all the usual H2O baits at regular price and all their rods and reels too.
  10. Yes, it's excellent. Better in every category than standard PP. I use it for frigging and flipping grass both.
  11. Not sure if it's common but there's lots of cedars here and we didn't have extra money for a tree growing up so cutting a free tree just made sense. They always did smell really nice.
  12. I use the 97MR Slender Pointer a lot for smallies, it's a killer smallmouth bait. It's a lot smaller than some baits I use. The big largemouth at the power plant lake eat big gizzard shad, lots in the 6-10 inch range, so big baits are what they prefer.
  13. 12, especially if you want to keep it on the bottom.
  14. Congrats. I've been lazy and haven't gone much this year. No excuse when I hunt my backyard. It's funny because I thought I had a bunch of new friends when I bought a boat but it was nothing compared to when I bought land with deer on it.
  15. Went to BPS to see Santa, but this is all they wanted to do.
  16. Got a special treat for big jerkbait eaters.
  17. Shad rap and Storm Smash Shad. The Bandit Flat Maxx has been good for me too.
  18. How cold is cold? I'm a back reeler, so my drag sticking isn't a huge concern, but I've noticed in extreme cold they'll either slip or seem to tighten at times. I assume this is from moisture getting inside the reel and expanding. Seems to really be an issue once the air temps are below about 25*
  19. I don't know, as bad as I am at golf, those fish in the water hazards would probably be safer if I was catching them and tossing them back then they are if I was plunking them in the head with my errant golf balls.
  20. I'd go with a swimbait hook with the belly spinner, like an Owner Flashy Swimmer. That way you'll still have some flash and extra thump, and you'll also be able to reel as slowly as possibly and reduce the risk of snagging. You're odds of catching a fish are extremely slim in those conditions, but you won't catch them at home.
  21. I'm not sure of the exact science, but I don't believe that the effect of a bass being removed from the water is the exact same as us being submerged. I just try to go by the rule of only keeping them out of the water about as long as I can hold my breathe though to try and ensure a healthy release. Bass don't possess the mental capacity to be "traumatized" however.
  22. As a midnight worker since I turned 21, I can confirm this is true. 7am is my 5pm. So there was a post about luck a week ago and I mentioned how my wife is the luckiest person I've ever known. She always wins at the casino and wins door prize drawings, everything. She called and woke me up today to tell me she'd entered a drawing for the Ellen Show to win all the prizes she gave away for that day on her 12 days of Christmas show, of course she got drawn.
  23. Congrats!
  24. I occasionally use mine for bladed jigs and buzzbaits. I fish pretty heavy line on my spinnerbait rod so just because of that it makes it difficult to use it for a lot of techniques.
